Q: Is the power rating 110v-220v?
A: Nest Hub comes with a 15W adapter with an auto-volt Input voltage of 100V - 240V. Any input level within this range should work.
Q: What are the improvements over the first generation hub?
A: Moatly the soli radar sleep sensor, re-tuned bass for better sound, 3 mics instead of 2, and on board command processing instead of querying the server as much, and internal hub-like network enhancement to allow communication with lights etc if your wifi went out. Sounds like Amazon's sidewalk but google calls it something else. Unclear if processor is new. Beveled edge is cosmetically different. Screen res is the same as gen 1.
A: I forgot to mention in my previous answer that, no, you don't need any additional equipment. Everything is streamed over the Internet, and played on the built-in speaker. You do have the option of subscribing to TunedIn's premium service, which will have fewer ads and more contents. Before buying this device, try out TunedIn on your phone, tablet or computer. You can either go to TunedIn's website, or download their app. What you hear is exactly what you'd hear on this device.
Q: Is there a lot of installation involved (I'm a senior-senior)??
A: No just plug it in follow on screen instructions about 2 min and it done. Very easy
Q: Does this 2nd Gen have a Camera?
A: No. Nest Hub (2nd gen) doesn't have a camera. But, it has a Soli sensor for Motion Sense. Motion Sense uses low-energy radar to detect movement like breathing and gestures even without a camera.
A: Absolutely! If you have a Netflix subscription, simply link your account in the Google Home app and you can play Netflix movies, TV shows and documentaries by using your voice on Nest Hub. Take a look at the following link for more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7214982
A: No it shows a slide show of images when not in use, and other than that it will show things like the weather. Mine shows no ads.
A: The Google Home speakers and hubs have a feature where if you say "hey Google broadcast" it will then broadcast whatever you say after that to all speakers or if you say hey Google broadcast followed by a specific speaker or hub on your network it will broadcast what you say but to only that device specified. This does work very intercom like just without the ptt buttons

I used to own the Google Home Mini 1st Gen for a few years until recently. Compared to those, I can confidently say that the audio from the Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen sounds significantly better. Since it's still the same google assistant, it didn't get any smarter or anything. I faced the same issues that I did previously, but at least the screen would provide some information rather than it annoyingly sending a link it found to my phone. Speaking of the screen, it's really nice despite it being small. It being small is advantageous since I like having my smart device sitting by the window next to my bed. I feel the 10" one wouldn't have fit as well. If you haven't touched the sceen in a while, it's laggy but once it gets going, it moves at a sufficient speed. I talk to it more than I touch the interface so it's not an issue I run into too often. I wish I could download apps onto the device, or remove some of them since I don't use Sling. It's a bit hard to use youtube on it as well. It's nice that it's easy to cast to it. I often cast twitch steams or audiobooks to it and it works out really well. It makes calls easily, and it can be helpful for routines or controlling your smart home. It's sleep sensing is surprisingly really good. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and if you use the sleep sensing, I recommend that you download google fit so that you can view your sleep data easier. The sleep sensing on the google nest was able to provide pretty much the same data as my galaxy watch 7 when it came to detecting sleep. It might not be that interesting, but I thought it was cool since the google nest uses motion sensing rather than making direct contact with my body while I sleep. You can also search websites on the nest hub, but I wouldn't recommend it since it would be slower than on your phone, and it doesn't really have much of a practical use, at least to me anyway. All in all, I really like this device. It's nice being able to control the dim of my light from my bed, but without having to pick up my phone. Sometimes I don't feel like speaking to start some routines, so the touch interface and gestures are appreciated. I thought google was getting rid of the sleep sensing, but somehow it still isn't gone yet. (Hopefully I haven't jinxed it) I'd happily recommend this device to anybody, even if they aren't crazy invested into a smart home. I just wouldn't say that it's worth it at full price. Definitely wait for a sale.

I love my Nest Hub 7" Smart Display with Google Assistant (2nd Gen) so much that I bought a 2nd one for my home office. I even ordered one for my dad for Father's Day. I use the Sleeping app to keep track of how well I am sleeping at night, then review my stats in the morning. I enjoy viewing the changing pictures on the Nest Hub on my desk while I work and listening to soft music. I use it to control my smart light bulbs in all of the rooms in my house. I ask the Google Assistant about the events on my calendar, set reminders, and various questions all day long. Often she has better answers than Alexa. I am still learning all the wonderful things it can do.

I have been using this hub for over a year now and it has been a phenomenal experience. It does exactly what I need it to do which is assist with my home automation and provide an easy form of access to listen to music in different areas of my house with the google home app. I was very dubious at first but it has truly made my life simpler and is an excellent tool that I use everyday.
