Q: I currently have an netgear 8 port model and need to expand. Will switching to a higher capacity affect my current connections with pc's by removing and re-connecting to the 16 port model?

A: I didn't notice any difference. I currently am flowing Orbi's through my 16-port switch - this one - and no problems at all with stability.

Q: Is this switch come with the ability to mount in 19 inch rack

A: By nature it it not rack mountable. It has a pack of rubber feet for desktop placement and screws for use in mounting vertically on a wall. If you are rack mounting switches you probably want a switch you can remotely manage.

Q: Can/Should i install a switch in my attic where all of my Ethernet wires have been routed?

A: Living in Arizona with the extreme heat I would be cautious of that. I suppose look up the manufacture Temp ratings and check.
