Easy as pie. Plug in your cables anywhere, plug the switch into an outlet, and you are on your way. I cannot understand any of the negative reviews. This product does exactly what one would expect it to do, and the price is very reasonable. You can use crossover cables, Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat6, or mix and match, and it works it all out. My connection passes through another Netgear switch (with many more ports) before connecting to my router, and I have numerous devices connected to my internet. But see my speeds in the attached photo. No complaints about this switch at all.

I did not have enough Ethernet slots on my router. So I purchased this to add 4 more Ethernet ports. I now have all my devices with a rj45 connection to this switch. I considered getting the "smart managed" switch. I am glad i did not get a "smart managed" it is just a switch, no need to over complicate things. oh and they are all fast connections as advertised.

I originally bought a Moca Adapter for my PS4 because I was sick of having to deal with Wi-Fi issues (laggy game play, videos buffering all the time and frequent loss of my Wi-Fi signal). So, the Moca Adaptor I purchased worked perfectly but it only had one ethernet port on it for my PS4. I wanted my laptop and Smart TV to be connected to the internet via ethernet cable and not Wi-Fi. So, I purchased this NG internet switch along with extra ethernet cable for each device. Now my PS4. Dell laptop and Sony Smart TV are connected to the internet with no Wi-Fi issues. Game Play, Streaming videos been stress free. Definitely pick one up.

My Eero only offers two Ethernet ports, with this 5 port switch I can plug in more devices throughout my home. Setting up this 5 port switch is quick and simple, very pleased with my purchase.

This was a perfect way to connect the wired devices to my new fiber system. One of the wireless hubs provided the RJ45 uplink and 'viola', all the wired devices were accessible via the fiber internet.

I am happy with my purchase. The quality and value of this product is great. The only use three of the Ethernet ports for my electronics. There are two ports left. I love the color blue Netgear; its the first item you notice. The blue Netgear stands out from everything else inside my electronic box.

Good easy to use router. Alowws you to hard wire devices with ethernet versus wifi connection on home wifi for a little better speed and reliability.

Totally outstanding. I started MetroNet and it had only one slot for plugs. I had to buy this so I could hook up my laptop and other items. So far, it can handle 1 GBs up and 1 GBs down. Best Buy personnel recommended it and I am thankful.

Great little switch for a gigabit network. Netgear usually makes good stuff that lasts a long time, so I anticipate this will work for many years to come.

Nice switch to connect a few pieces of equipment. Works out of the box, no software, and no programming needed. Also the metal construction gives it a solid feel.

I needed extra ethernet ports for my WiFi device and this device has worked out perfectly. I also bought an ethernet connector for my Wifi device to this device and am very glad I did. Highly recommend it.

Works like a charm. All I needed was to connect this switch to the router, then I was able to connect for other devices (TV, PS4, Switch, sound bar, PC).
