It works fine, if you have the patience to deal with it. I bought this product to extend the coverage to the front part of my house, because the router is in the rear where everything in my home theater system is Ethernet hard wired. I read reviews before I purchased it and when almost everyone said it was hard to set up, they weren’t kidding! The instructor would have you think it’s little more than plug n play with a couple extra steps. Nothing could be further from the truth. I spent several hours trying to get this setup going with the netgear app, and when that failed repeatedly , I ended up doing the web browser setup, which they tell you as a last resort, but it was a lot faster and easier than the app. Also, it didn’t seem to want to save settings if you had to reset it or unplug it and move it for better coverage. After jacking with it for a couple or 3 days, I have it consistently working fine now and I’m getting decent speed from it. Good enough to stream and game. I’ll post a pic from the app of upload / download speed, as it is speed testing built in. If you have to restart for any reason , put your phone or tablet on the Wi-Fi signal rhe exrender generates, and set it up from there. It’ll go much easier. Also, I originally wanted to use it as a repeater, but I had too many problems with that , so I use it exclusively in extender mode. That worked best for me.

I got this Wifi extender for my xbox one cause I had to put the actual router in another room. I still wanted to wire my xbox one so I could play games like battlefield 4 that require a strong and fast internet connection. This product does the job I see no difference when between having it hard wired to the router, and to the NetGear extender in FPS or latency. It's a little probably by 3 MB (which isn't much) so yeah. I still get 80Mbps-100+Mbps, and I have Xfinity Internet so go figure. If I had Google Fiber it would probably be 100 times faster. But those speeds (80Mbps-100+Mbps) are basically the same when I had it plugged into the actual router. So overall it is a product well worth it's price.

This unit is easy to use, it is both 2G and 5G extender and works very well. I HIGHLY recommend this extender if you have a blind spot in your home or need to extend your wifi router to the other end of your home or shop.

Definitely well worth the price! If you need a WiFi extender that will work through concrete walls, this is the one for you!

Wi-Fi signal was occasionally dropping to a streaming device in our family room. Just plugged this into an empty socket, behind the kitchen drape and now we have a strong signal. Easy to install, just plug it in. Lights on booster let you know status. Not too big, but works very well.

Installed on first floor with wireless router on second floor. Reasonably easy to configure. Signal strength is much better throughout the house.

I set up the extender on my own. After a slight problem and a call to a member of the Geek Squad, the extender worked nicely. I'm glad I purchased it.

WFH, my work computer can only be connected to the Internet by ethernet cable. I needed a very long ethernet cable to reach my home router and it would have had to ran cable along the wall or ceiling. This device was perfect for the purpose I needed. I plugged it into a wall plug in the room I'm working from and connected it to the home wifi. I was able to plug into the Ethernet of this device from my work computer. Speed is pretty good.

Almost didn’t buy this product because all my friends and family said these products don’t work. Guess what, it’s been great. I was trying to stream on a TV in the basement with no luck until I bought this product. I think the issue is that people just plug it in and don’t follow the directions. For it to work, you need to switch to the WiFi name given by the Netgear which should end in _2GEXT or _5GEXT.

It has helped with connection issues in the basement but still could be better. Took me much longer than anticipated for set-up. I had to call customer service and they were helpful, but took about an hour on the phone with them.

Awesome product to extend wifi all around the house. I have my router in a corner room of the house so the wifi range is limited. Ran a ethernet cable to connect to the Netgear extender and when testing a get on average above 200mb speed!

Works amazingly for what we need!! Would definitely buy again if I need any more. I have a Tesla, so I need to update every so often, before with the router all the way on the opposite side of the house signal didn’t reach, now that I bought this my car receives perfect signal and it’s not a pain anymore to update!

I was getting really poor wifi connection in the back of my home and my backyard. I bought this and now my wifi reaches to all areas of my home and yard. I am very happy with this product.

The Netgear AC1200 WiFi Range Extender solved all the problems we were having at our house. Pretty easy to connect to my router. Very good product and excellent service at Best Buy. Sales rep was very helpful.

I had to plug Ethernet to my desktop in a room where there is is no port . This device is savior and integrated well with my nighthawk app and netgear router . Setup took less than 5 mins .

Needed to boost my WiFi to reach my garage. It works great. WiFi is in the front of house, located the range extender at back of house closest to garage. Does exactly water I needed it to do.

I picked the Netgear after hearing the best coments on them and the "ac" since it will work for all wifi up to ac level in the future. I set it up quickly after plugging it in just following the online directions. It extented outside to give reception in a trailer with the password from the wifi. I hope to carry it with me to use in other places.

My pc is ethernet only and this device makes it usable at a decent speed as well
