Its been just a month I have installed this NETGEAR wi-fi router with modem replacing the Xfinity rented ones. Undoubtedly it has reduced my bills by atleast $14. So far I haven't noticed any connection glitches. The wi-fi connection is consistent at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The first time setup was simple as well. You just need to follow the NETGEAR NightHawk mobile app and follow the steps. Also you have to login to your ISP account and activate the modem either online or by calling the ISP helpline. In my case I did that through xfinity mobile app. At this stage it took sometime after failing for initial couple of times but it was successful after those initial hiccups. Only downside I observed is that in xfinity if we use their rented modem router they give an option to select a common wifi name for both 2.4 and 5 GHz channels which is very helpful since it minimizes any disconnection due to network switches whereas if we use 3rd party modem router like NETGEAR then xfinity doesn't give that option to chose a common wifi name. The wifi name and other configuration needs to be completed in the NETGEAR NightHawk app and it does not give these options. For the price I paid I am satisfied so far. I don't know how it will perform in the long run. I am hopeful that with timely firmware updates this device should work as expected. I found a offer in Amazon for below $100 and opted for a price match at Best Buy and thus I got this NETGEAR AC1600 Dual band modem-router C6250-100NAS for below $100 including 3 years of Geek Squad replacement warranty. If I compare it with the xfinity one that I rented, the xfinity one is superior to this in terms of features like the xfinity one was made by Arris featuring 32x4 DOCSIS 3.0 modem with 4 ethernet ports, 2 tele ports for voice, 2 USB ports. But this one doesn't feature any voice port, it has only 1 USB port and 2 ethernet ports. So you should check your requirements as well. If you had a phone or fax connected to your modem earlier then this is not for you.

Lot variation of Internet speed between the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz . If connect to 5Ghz the internet speed is 100Mbps and if connected to the speed drops to 3 Mbps. I know there will be a variation between GHz but this lot variation is not acceptable because 2.4 is used for long range,And there is no use of having 3Mbps in a longer range and I cannot do the Internet.and also it fails to distribute the Internet among the devices equally.

So far this has been working great! I love it, it's small, sleek looking, easy install, easy directions for troubleshooting. I had to check once since the cable company was having issues. Great price too for a combo. So far, it's been doing it's job perfectly.

Perfect combination of router and modem. Very easy to set up, just took 5 minutes to set up. I started using for cablevision and and avoided 10$ modem fees. Router have enough range and speed. It's also space saver. It's just small one piece doing both job of modem and router.

Netgear AC1600 Wireless is a great combo router that you could have. Setup was very easy, I have a lot of Netgear experiment, so this was a piece of cake. You just need to follow that attached instruction that came with it. It should not take you more than 3 minutes to get online. Features - This modem/router does not take up as much space as my NightHawk and cable modem so it's a great space saver. Once the router is setup, I didn't expect to be as great as the NightHawk but the coverage into my bedroom from my den (opposite side of the house) seemed to be better than expected. The only thing that I would like to add though it why only 2 ports? That's why it's 4 stars. I wish that this router have more ports that would make it an awesome router. Overall the wireless speed test is awesome, very fast and distance is great. The NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1600 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6250) exceeded my expectations and is well worth the price. If you are currently renting a modem from Comcast, I HIGHLY recommend you purchase this product so you don't need to pay monthly rental fee and also it yours when you cancel Comcast. I recently upgraded from a Netgear single band and I wish I had done it sooner! I have Comcast internet and I went from getting about 25-30 down to getting 150 down using 5G with this modem router. Set up was very easy with the Xfinity online device registration. Ease of use and performance for the price are excellent.

I've been using this router for a month and a half. I live in a townhouse house and the range is pretty good. The router would frequently automatically restart but that was only because of the recent free speed upgrade that comcast pushed out. The speed upgraded my 60mbps plan to 100 mbps. The router is really good as a budget router. The router is easy to setup with comcast. All you have to do is connect everything up, let all the lights light up on the router, once you see all the lights solid connect to the router and then put in your account information and let Xfinity do its thing.

This router has good range, good speed, looks decent, is easy to setup and has been totally reliable for me thus far. I have a strong wireless signal up to about 100' away before any real signal fade happens. At this point I have had no outages or drops that were the fault of the router; I have not had to reset or reconfigure it for any reason.

I bought this modem to use with Comcast Xfinity. It took only a few minutes to set up, and I have had no problems with it cutting out or restarting. It's easy to manage it with the app, and it has worked well with Xbox live and streaming. The only shortcoming is that the WiFi range does not seem to be so good. In our 1800 SQ foot house the Chromecast was dropping out up in the bedroom with the modem down in the living room. This was easily fixed with a cheap Netgear wifi extender. Overall, for being an affordable all in one cable modem it does very well for the price.

The Netgear Router Modem really works well. I live in a 1bed apartment which is almost 700 soft. The Router is in one corner and I get good coverage in farthest point in another room. Manages all 4 of my device well. If you are downloading on one device, other devices do slightly get impacted, but not a whole lot. If you play games on console, I suggest using a lam cable to connect. I have connected my tv using land cable as well. Get amazing speeds.
