Q: Would this work on windows 8.1?
A: This works for me on Windows 8.1.
Q: does it matter what kind of internet company you have or the router?
A: Not about your internet provider. It allows a wifi connection so you dont have to connect ethernet connection to your device from your router acroos the room or another part of your home.
Q: compatible with windows 10.
A: I have Windows 10 and it is working great.
A: It does work with Windows 10. It doesn't supply its own internet, it's used to connect to a router if you are using a computer that isn't capable of connecting to wifi on its own.
Q: Will this work on old Desktop Computer?
A: Hi, my son used the N300 wireless N-USB adapter to turn my desktop PC into a wireless PC. It was quick and easy just follow setup directions. Well worth the $40.00. It's small enough to put just behind my monitor so I can see the little blue light and make sure it's connecting. There is a a slight delay in opening pages etc but it's ok for me as long as I have my desktop PC working. So give it a try, and if you're not happy write a review of why you're not happy with it.
Q: How large is the connection radius?
A: Connection radius all depends on what wireless router you have, location of the router in respect to location you are attempting to connect, room/house construction, and many other variables. No one could give a specific distance that would be accurate for your application. We use this in a corner room on the second story. Our router is in a central location on the main floor. Our house has 2x6 wall construction and there is a total of three walls and the ceiling/floor between them. The connection for us is outstanding. For us this works much better than the built in wi-fi card in my son's computer (4 year old HP).
Q: Can this be used to convert a USB Brother Multifunction printer to wireless?
A: Simply put, no. You could make your usb printer available on the network but it's a real pain and if you're asking the question you don't want to go there. Get a wireless printer.
A: Yes, be warned when playing multiplayer games. This can go off for a couple seconds which will make it annoying for hardcore gamers
