Easy to set up. Working flawlessly for the past month. I'd recommend and will use other Netgear products too!

I purchased this item to replace my Comcast unit. It was a bit difficult for the Comcast rep to swap the contact data, but that was largely due to a 'language' barrier. I have 4 hard-wired connections and 2 Wi-Fi connections to the unit and they all work flawlessly without any buffering. Streaming in HD is great. It will take 2 years to pay for itself, but I've paid Comcast a monthly rental for about 5 years. It's a great investment.

I brought this as I don't want to pay monthly rent to cable company. Its does its job. Powering internet and phone in my home and great wifi signal. (I'm yet to check wifi in every corner of my home , but where ever I'm using now.. no complaints). Price would have been little low($100 ish) and less bulky to make this a great product.

After looking online for a while and talking to a Best Buy employee, I made my decision on this modem to replace my 3 year old equipment. This was on sale when I got it and I am very pleased with my purchase. I have a 1930s craftsman house with thick older walls. And I used to need range extenders etc to make a signal reach the far corners of my house. Now with this device I no longer need the extenders and the rooms are pulling over 100mbps downstream and 12 mbps upstream over WiFi. When I am close to the device and using the 5ghz I get over 200mbps. And my Xbox one which I have directly plugged in is pulling over 300mbps. So all that and I avoid the comcast rental fee since this modem has the telephony as well. Very pleased with the performance so far

I was renting a older all in one unit from xfinity i have the 150 service and i was getting about 160 down and 21 up with my old rental the wifi on the old unit was terrible and i had to add a access point to even get ok signal in my home 2 story with finished basement. this new unit is great so far just been running it since this morning but with myself and my daughter downloading a movie and her on youtube and my wife on her iphone doing face books there is no issues at all where i would hit buffering before also for a unit with internal antennas it really has impressive range my router is on the main floor on the far right of the house and my daughter upstairs on the far left gets full bars on the 2.4 and between 4 to 5 mostly 5 bars on the 5ghz this is impressive since the earlier unit did not reach her without a access point. since it is a all in one user there are not many power user features but you can setup simple guest networks and dmz for gaming devices as well as port forwarding which my previous all in one lacked thank you so much!!!!! you can change the ip range of the network and make the wireless channels discoverable or not. setup was extremely easy i made the mistake of calling xfinity instead of walking thru the self activation screen. if you continue from the info screen on the netgear gateway startup screen it will activate the modem the users guide prompts you to call xfinity this was a mistake. I can tell you right now with this being a new modem they have no clue how to get it into their system once i found the self partition screen i had it setup myself in about 7 mins

I recently moved and have decided to order Xfinity. I have always purchased my own Modem Router and needed a new one since I opted for the voice option. I looked at this router and the one offered by another company with similar features. I have used Netgrear before and have had good luck with them. I purchased the modem and the Xfinity technician set everything up pretty quickly. Pros: easy set up (with the technician), has worked without issues so far (been using for 6 weeks), good speed, and range is surprising good. I have to have the modem in the basement based on my cable line and I was surprised with the signal coverage/strength, even on the second floor. I have at least 20 devices using the access point (TVs, phones, computers, smart home stuff) without any slow down. My kids are always on Netflix/Youtube and have yet to complain.Cons: the app has only very basic functions and the router is expensive. Xfinity rents the same router for about 10 bucks a month. I paid close to $300. Obviously if I keep it for at least 3 years it is worth it. Overall would purchase again. Have had no issues with internet access.

This is a great device. It's the best one I've ever bought handles the highest speeds

So I've been paying $10 a month to the cable company to "rent" their router. I bought an Arris router and returned that after a week because it was horrible. I looked online and couldn't find a router I wanted to buy that I could trust. A month ago my internet was dragging. So I called Comcast and asked what the problem was. They couldn't give me a direct answer. I reset my modem numerous times and still I was not getting the speed I was paying for. Now everything in my house is wireless including my PC which has an installed wifi card. I heard of nighthawk products and knew they had a good rating. So I decided to bite the bullet and buy it. After installing it I noticed a huge difference. The signal is strong and I am getting the speeds I was before when I tested it on speedtest.net. Well worth investment.

The xfinity modem/router was “supposed” to cover my whole house and allow “multiple devices” to use simultaneously.. afterwards we quickly realized that’s not the case .. this new Netgear is the real deal and not only covers the house but the yard too !! The speed never dips because it actually outperforms the signal being sent by Xfinity ! Perfect

I've been paying Xfinity $10 per months for several years to use their modem so I wish I did this sooner! I do have to thank them for increasing my rates, which made me look at my bill closer. As another reviewer mentioned, setup is simple and I'm not a techie. It's pretty much plug and play but you do have to get into the router menu (http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.0.1, as mentioned in step 9) before the internet will work. I originally call Xfinity to provision the modem but there were issues and they couldn't get it to work. They sent out a tech the next day and that worked out well since I had to return the leased modem anyway which saved me a trip. Before the tech arrived, my VOIP phone worked but I wasn't getting internet because I didn't completely go through the self activation in the router menu. There's my PSA. The 5ghz gets me over 200mps through Speedtest and if I'm out of range, the 2.4ghz works great. Overall, well worth the purchase price!

Originally I purchased an Aris surfboard because I needed telephone jacks for work. The aris was fast but it was a nightmare to use - constantly disconnecting, bad wifi, horrible reception, slow speed, you get it. So, I took it back and bought the Nighthawk. OMG! This dude is a freaking beast. From opening the box to installing and activating the gateway, it was a very, very, very easy process. I didn't get upset, angry, etc. because it just worked. now, about 2 months later, the thing won't quit. It works just fine. I never have ANY problems with this gateway AT ALL. I will never buy anything but netgear products from now on. They just work and are super easy to use. This product is so easy to use, I believe a person who has never turned on a computer could set it up and get it running without a single problem - that's how good this thing is. I would buy it again and I DO recommend it.

I really like this modem. I wanted to buy to avoid the monthly rental fee from my cable company. This modem offers both 2.5 and 5g. Its compatible with all my devices. Perfect.

So difficult to decide between the Netgear, Arris or Motorola...all had great advantages, but the Arris did not allow for VOIP and the Motorola was exclusive to Comcast....if I am popping the extra money for a good new dualband router/modem, I really want one that can travel with me if I decide to move on from comcast.....so I went with this one; has a USB port, two VOIP phone ports and was priced between the Arris and the Motorola. It handles the speeds and reaches the far corners of my 2600sqf home....even in the back bathroom upstairs. There is no need for wifi extenders with this router/modem.

Reliable. Although, I have had to restart it a couple times since I got it a couple months ago. It is bulky and can’t be laid on it side, which kind of sucks. Expensive too but it’s recommended by Xfinity Comcast hence the price tag.
