Watching this movie now in my late 40's, makes me appreciate the humor and honesty of an inside view of newscasts. Made before multiple 24 hour news cycles, it is both humorous and drops relevant knowledge that mirrors today's newscasts.

NETWORK is for those who are "gotta-be fans" of various movies through the years about the "Networks" Business! Otherwise, you might NOT get carried away with the flows, multiple directions, excitement, and mental intellectual "Actions" that this film affords! I bought this DVD so that I could viscerally re-live and re-energize the vivid and powerful lessons about how NETWORK propaganda is so insidious in our brainwashing of ourselves -- as a modern 20th and 21st Century human being species! Also, as a modern 20th & 21st Century Society! AND, as Animals(!) with massive self-deception of the uses and ABUSES of the human mind. Thus, we humans do engage incessantly in Group-think! Also, Mob-behavior psychology of an infinite variety! And we maintain massive self-defensive techniques of denial beyond just "the name of a River in Egypt!!" Self-deception Rules! AND this DVD, "NETWORK" demonstrates so very graphically that the human race remains consistently RIPE for propaganda by any person(s), forces, or groups who get some power and are able to wield POWER to manipulate the uses and ABUSES of the power of ALL individual minds... AND, don't forget to mention, the "NETWORK" Business is one of the most insidious, subterranean and yet so "In Plain Sight," because the NETWORK BUSINESS plays on ALL human SUBCONSCIOUS and CONSCIOUS thoughts, feelings, desires, aspirations, hopes, fears, and dreams, not to mention ALL the different types of Human Self-Importance, both good and bad, right and wrong, productive and destructive! If you like being reminded of these kinds of lessons about propaganda and brainwashing by the media and the NETWORKS,... This DVD is for you, as it is for me!

"Network" may have come out back in 1976, but its subject matter regarding how companies will do anything to improve ratings is still relevant to this day. Written by Paddy Chayefsky, Network not only reveals Chayefsky's nightmarish vision for the downfall of public broadcasting but at the same time highlights his impeccable talent as a writer. If I could give this movie a higher rating, I would.

Chaefsky at his best. All-star cast has it all - great acting, satirical plot and a great spin on the cold-hearted world of broadcast television that is even more cut-throat still today. Finch is tremendous...

This is a spectacular film at a spectacular price. I strongly recommend using the low price guarantee option for this and other films - I got this for under $10 and is among my best purchases ever made at Best Buy.

This film is not solely intended for entertainment. It has a not so subtle message. Faye Dunaway and WIlliam Holden are excellent in their roles while Finch shines in his final performance.

Should be a classic, what once seemed farcical, is now a study on society… a movie before it’s time.

The movie is a classic so it was a great value...just disappointed that it took far too long to receive...arrived very late after the promised delivery date...
