About this product

Nick Lowe's Abominable Showman was recorded with his post-Rockpile touring band Noise to Go. Following the blueprint of Rockpile, the band also featured a second lead vocalist in erstwhile Ace frontman Paul Carrack and had been featured on the Lowe-produced Carrack album Suburban Voodoo (as well as on this album s duet Wish You Were Here). This unit could play hard driving rock & roll and soulful pop music, all in evidence here from the opener (and concert favorite) Raging Eyes to the full on pop-soul of Time Wounds All Heels. And the band barnstormed the USA opening for the likes of The Cars and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers which yields the bonus EP of live tracks from Cleveland s Agora. Album Tracks 1. We Want Action 2. Ragin Eyes 3. Cool Reaction 4. Time Wounds All Heels 5. Man of a Fool 6. Tanque-Rae 7. Wish You Were Here 8. Chicken and Feathers 9. Paid the Price 10. Mess Around with Love 11. Saint Beneath the Paint 12. How Do You Talk to An Angel

Nick Lowe - Nick The Knife - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Nick the Knife is a 1982 album by Nick Lowe. The album was Lowe's third solo LP, and his first since the 1981 breakup of his band Rockpile. However, the record still has several Rockpile ties, as Lowe's former bandmates Billy Bremner and Terry Williams play on the album. In addition, Lowe does a slowed-down remake of the Rockpile song InchHeartInch; the original version can be found on the band's album Seconds of Pleasure sung by Bremner. Album Tracks 1. Nick Lowe - Pinker & Prouder - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Vinyl LP pressing. Yep Roc Records will reissue six classic yet long unavailable Nick Lowe albums, fulfilling a longstanding goal of bringing the entire catalog of one of it's flagship artists back into print and available on one tag. The albums - Nick the Knife, The Abominable Showman, Nick Lowe and His Cowboy Outfit, The Rose of England, Pinker and Prouder Than Previous, and Party of One - span the years 1982 to 1990, and represent a crucial bridge from Lowe's trailblazing '70s work to the Inchremarkable second windInch (New York Times) and widespread critical acclaim that have characterized his more recent releases. Perhaps Nick Lowe's most varied , 1988's Pinker and Prouder Than Previous was recorded in Austin, Texas, the famed Rockfield Studios in Wales, and in London. Tapping everyone from his current associates Bobby Irwin, Paul Carrack and Martin Belmont to the Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Men They Couldn't Hang to back him up, this excellent 11-track mix of originals and covers actually predicts the stripped down style that revived his career a few years later. Album Tracks 1. You're My Wildest Dream 3 22 2. Crying in My Sleep 4 00 3. Big Hair 2 15 4. Love Gets Strange 3 37 5. I Got the Love 2 44 6. Black Lincoln Continental 2 40 7. Cry It Out 2 49 8. Lover's Jamboree 3 43 9. Geisha Girl 2 19 10. Wishing Well 3 03 11. Big Big Love 2 48

Nick Lowe - Party of One - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

For 1990's Party of One, the personnel was drawn from Nick's bandmates on 1987's John Hiatt masterpiece, Bring the Family (Lowe on bass, Jim Keltner on drums and Ry Cooder on guitar) combined with the twin heads of the band The Moonlighters (Austin DeLone - ex of Eggs Over Easy and Bill Kirchen - original Lost Planet Airman and twang kingpin). Nick brought in Dave Edmunds to produce and play even more guitar. They rip through a fantastic batch of original songs highlighted by InchAll Men Are LiarsInch and InchWhat's Shakin' on the HillInch which are still staples of Nick's live show. This strong effort led into the Little Village project and can be considered the final chapter in the first half of Nick's career. Album Tracks 1. You Got the Look I Like 3 24 2. (I Want to Build a) Jumbo Ark 3 32 3. Gai-Gin Man 2 47 4. Who Was That Man? 3 05 5. What's Shakin' on the Hill 4 02 6. Shting-Shtang 3 23 7. All Men Are Liars 3 24 8. Rocky Road 3 25 9.
