I used this camera on a recent sailing trip. It took great pictures. I loved the zoom and I did not have to worry about getting it wet or dropping it. A great size for all your outdoor activities. I also took it hiking because it was so light. The battery lasted all day and I would recharge it at night.

I purchased this camera for underwater photography while diving but I use. For so much more. And it connects to my phone by wireless so no problems downloading to my photo gallery !

I have only used the camera for 2 snorkeling trips, but both times, under not the greatest conditions, still obtained clear, crisp pictures of fish & a crown of thorns. The camera shows promise. The roller for telephoto is a bit awkward but otherwise operation seems ok with gloves on.

This camera is easy to use. Just make sure the door on the camera is shut and locked. It has several easy settings to choose from. It is hard to take a bad photo. Try to steady yourself to get the best picture. The most fun I have is with the macro setting shooting small creatures. It does an excellent job. You can also take a photo and change it into a picture that looks "painted". So fun! There are several settings to bring out your artistic ability.

It's just what I was hoping for! I take pictures from the moving car while my husband drives, and this camera geo-tags them. All it takes is XnView MP (multi platform) to view the photos with a map of where the camera was when the shot was recorded.

I needed a waterproof camera to take on my kayaking and backpacking trips, so after much research, I chose the Nikon Coolpix W300. I really liked the zoom on my Nikon Coolpix S8200 (14x optical zoom), so I was a little disappointed when the W300 only had a 5x optical zoom. Otherwise, the camera operates almost identically to the S8200 which made it easy to transition. I like the GPS capability and the altitude readout on the screen since I do a lot of mountain backpacking. The pictures are very clear and the camera is very easy to use.

I purchased this camera due to a referral from a friend that said I cant break it. I use the camera in the field and being drop and water resistant, it might should work well for me. so far so good. instructions were easy, camera is easy to use. it doesn't replace the SLR that I have for personal use which I also reviewed here, but its good enough for work type inspection stills.

Takes great pictures, in jpgs. No raw which is unfortunate. Battery life is HORRIBLE. Buy a spare battery OR TWO. They're kinda pricy for the size too. Pictures do come out nice though. Image stabilizer. GPS, depth gauge. Diving with it is a breeze and easy, just remember, it's a rangefinder system so your finger can get in the view easily. Nice videos too. Turn off GPS and Bluetooth to extend battery life. All in all, good underwater camera. Better than the cheaper ones to 100ft. Cheaper than the better ones, by a lot.

I use this camera daily for work and I take about 300-700 pictures a day with it. Waterproof, dust-proof, and shock resistant. I take underwater pictures, I take it under houses and in attics, indoor and outdoor pictures. Picture quality is great, it is easy to use. I have owned many of these over the years. I am very hard on them and they stand up very well, but even being shock resistant a fall from 15ft will definitely do some damage. I have done that too many times. hahaha. I always get the Geek Squad protection.

I purchased this with the intent to take tons of photos underwater while on vacation. Nikon is a trusted brand, so the name definitely influenced my choice; however, I am quite pleased with this little guy regardless of brand. I haven't used it much outside of water, but there are plenty of point and shoot features/modes to take wonderful portraits and scenery photos. I am pleased with the video quality, although I haven't viewed videos on a screen larger than my iPad. Transferring photos to your phone or tablet to share via text or social media is insanely easy and a definite highlight to this camera. Zoom worked fantastic underwater; by the camera automatically adjusting the exposure, I was able take excellent photos of some sea turtles (they would swim away if humans got close). A few tips: - be aware of how you place the camera underwater because tiny air bubbles can get trapped on the lens obstructing photos - make sure you turn it off > I kept forgetting to while snorkeling, and it really drained the battery. It did last the entire time I was in the water which was from early in the morning to late afternoon, but it promptly died when I went to show photos of the adventure to family that evening. - if using this in the ocean, take multiple shots of your subject if you are in an area with waves > a few of my images came out blurry from the motion of the ocean inhibiting my steady hand... I compensated for this after my first use by taking more than one shot of each subject just to be safe. Overall, I am happy with this purchase & I plan on using this camera on many more adventures. It will be a nice addition to my little collection, and an excellent choice for situations my bigger DSLR or instant cameras aren't ideal for.

Love the clear photos and how compact it is. Only con is how small the buttons are with fat fingers. Ha!

I used it during my family vacation in Hawaii. Got great videos with my kids snorkeling in Hanauma bay & Waikiki beach. I used the following modes & got great pictures: beach, party/indoors & night portrait (which captured great background light of Waikiki while taking portraits on the beach at night without tripod). Need to always check the lenses to be sure it’s clean, no external water droplets, or foggy (internal water condensation occurred when camera heats up internally during long video recording & its internal airspace isn’t dry). I used hair dryer to gently blow hot/warm dry air to dehumidify inside of the camera before the trip, and I no longer have to worry about this foggy lenses. I always keep camera door closed to keep its internal airspace dry. Therefore, i highly recommend investing in battery charger, so no need to use camera to charge its battery, which requires its door to be open to do so. Wifi connection is great & auto connect when SnapBridge app starts. Downloading movies took a long time; therefore, recommending only small clips or picture download only.

A very good camera. The waterproof feature worked perfectly as did the dust/sand proofing. Picture quality is better than expected. The controls are a bit wonky, it can be really challenging to change settings. The screen is terrible in bright sunlight, really needs a viewfinder. Still would recommend.

Awesome camera, so glad we got this for our dive vacation in Maui. It worked like a dream!! Pictures turned out amazing. Need to buy it again though, because we accidentally left the battery compartment open on one of our dives so it got water damage :(

I love this camera!!! I’m into creating be photography so any camera lower than a DSLR is hard for me to like/love...BUT the high quality of this camera and the images it produces with a steady hand or even a not so steady environment is amazing. Took it on vacation to the Bahamas in the ocean and got some great pictures!!!

I have the Coolpix 120, but when I thought I lost it, I bought this one (it’s orange, therefore I needed it!). It’s a good camera, but not great. It takes beautiful underwater pictures, but when I try to take night shots (a parade, for example), it doesn’t perform as well as I’d hoped. It’s possible that it’s me, but the photos aren’t clear or sharp. But underwater, excellent. An added bonus is that it’s drop-proof. I’d definitely buy it again. PS- I found my 120 about three days after I bought this one.
