This Nikon runs right next to the D610. Not full frame but the color, resolution and low light video performance are unbelievable. No problem with the buffer if you just shoot raw files. I shoot for a living and for the price this is a great investment for under $1500.

This was my first DSLR (or SLR for that matter), and I was a little skeptical of being able to shoot pictures right off, considering the formidable array of dials and buttons it had. Was pretty easy to learn the fundamentals, and picture quality - especially in the Scene mode - was awesome!! Soon after I got it, BB began offering free DSLR courses, and the instruction was excellent. I'm now experimenting around with other modes, and thoroughly enjoying it! The lens that comes with it in the bundle, 35/140 Nikkor, is great and versatile. Very good choice!

Amazing camera! Used a D90 before and it was great, this just took it one notch higher with amazing quality allowing the pictures to be enlarged with awesome detail! Only potential draw back is that it's a bit on the heavy side.

It is fast, takes really good pictures. I started out with the Nikon D3100, this one is a little more complicated than that one, but once I figured it out, I love it!!

I have been waiting to get my camera for a few months, and I love the 18-140 lens. It makes it a lot easier to shoot for my projects and do self portraits without having to change the lens. The 2 sd card ports also are a big plus especially if you shoot in RAW format. This is a good camera and it shipped fast and got to me safely.

A great camera when you want to transition to a pro quality camera. Very easy to use, the picture quality is Great! I used the 3100 previously and the 7100 blows it out of the water! I would absolutely recommend this camera and the 18-140mm lens that comes with it, definately worth the money.

I purchased this camera couple of years back. It is really good Nikon DSLR to pick up. Initially I found it bulky, but with time got used to it. I picked up kit lens 18-140 MM and it is good lens to begin with. There are not too many improvements in the next model D7200, so D7100 is still good.

I bought this camera over the 5000 series because of the metal frame and dust seal. It is slightly heavier, but well balanced and wOrth it. Does a great job in lower light settings.

As an experienced under water photography buff. Using an old school photomic F-2 Nikon film camera. I am very pleased with the cameras performance capabilities. It`s going to be a great camera in the taking pictures of professional surfers and skateboarders. For my own personal needs. Doing photos of wild -life and Micro photos. of all types of small birds, insects, reptiles and specialty shots of a varying variety subjects will be first class. I am able to use many of my old Nikkor lens with this camera. Plus having the video capabilities of this camera is second to non. I would recamend it to any one. That wants to improve their photographic abilities. I have always been pleased with the ease of use of all Nikon products.

Do to heavy work load, I have yet to play with the camera. Once fall arrives I anticipate taking images of a quality I have yet to experience with my previous cameras. Can't wait!

This was an upgrade for me, I do photography as my hobby. I started with the D40x, then the d90 which was faster and now this one which is faster yet and better photos. Love it!

This camera is great for the beginner, easy point and shoot options and advanced settings to grow with.

The mode dial is odd by one. Returned and got another one. Same problem? Doesn't bother me much. Apature priority mode is the s instead of a and vice versa. Other that that great camera

Buying the Nikon D7100 was in my opinion, one of the best purchases I've ever made. I was upgrading from the Nikon D3300 that I bought a few months prior so I knew a little about how it would be like to use it. But once I got it out the box, I noticed that it had some big changes from the D3300 that I was accustomed to and the D7100 I just purchased. First, it was noticeably larger than the Nikon D3300, in a good way. Although it was still a crop sensor camera, it seemed more like a "pro" camera. I also saw that there was an additional screen that lay on the top right side of the camera body. The other thing I noticed was that it had more physical buttons placed on the back and front of it. After turning the camera on, I went straight to the settings menu to start setting it up so that it was ready to shoot. Just like there was more buttons on the outside, I found that the menu system was enormous compared to that of the D3300! There was so many things to change that it went into sub options when going to a certain option. It took my a lot longer to get through all the settings then I had thought it was going to take, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Inside the box was also a lens that came with it. It too was bigger than any of the lenses that I had gotten up until that point. The lens is nice, produces good quality photos. One thing I don't like about the lens is that none of my lens hoods or my UV filter doesn't fit on it, but that's nothing against the actual lens. And being an 18-140mm telephoto lens, it is a pretty good lens for almost any occasion. After setting everything up and started shooting with it, I found that the colors were a lot more vibrant and soft than that of the D3300. And although the D7100's sensor is .1 megapixals less than that of the D3300, you can't tell at all, I must admit I was a bit scared that I would find a negative difference. I am happy to say that any doubts were put to rest. All in all I am very happy with my purchase! This is my second DSLR and probably the one that I will keep for a couplee years before upgrading again. I can't wait to see what it can do when behind some really good quality glass(lenses). I would definitely recommend this camera for anyone who is interested in photography, both as a hobby or for another source of income, though, for professional use, you're probably going to want a better one in the future. But regardless if you've never used a DSLR before, this will take some time getting use to. It's not impossible, but because of the many different settings, it can be a bit overwhelming at time, not impossible though. But if you've used a DSLR before and you're just wanting an upgrade, this is an AMAZING choice!

It is a excellent camera for beginner and even advanced photographer. The photos come excellent in low light. The in-built flash is also very powerful.There are lot of advanced settings I have not explored yet. Even if you take the photos in auto mode the photos are excellent. Very long battery life.

My first camera was a D 60 and I have been a Nikon loyal fan since then. Extremely user friendly and sturdy. The 7100 has a massive load of features and controls and you tend to get lost initially. The only way to get around that is by excessive usage. Make mistakes and learn. Try new things. About the can specs - wont get into the tech specs, few things you should know - 1) The camera is very big and heavy. Its bulk may dissuade you, but it has a lot of muscle. 2) The lens 10-140 is pretty basic and I would suggest you invest in a goid lens based on the kind a photography you're going to be doing 3) invest in a better camera strap the one that comes with the camera is a pain in the neck Overall an excellent buy, would definitely recommend
