    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.5 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Nikon
    • Model Number: 1618
    • Product Name: D780 DSLR Camera (Body Only)
    • Color: Black
    • Digital Camera Type: DSLR Camera Body Only
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 6048 x 3400 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG, RAW (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 30 - 1/8000 (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum ISO: 50 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 51200 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 204800 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 10 seconds, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 20 seconds
    • White Balance Modes: Cloudy; fluorescent light (cool white); fluorescent light (daylight); fluorescent light (warm white); 2500K - 10000K; fluorescent light (daylight color); fluorescent light (daylight white); fluorescent light (natural white) (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.5 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Flash
    • Integrated Flash: false
    • External Flash Mount: Hot Shoe (A cold shoe is a mounting point on top of a camera to securely attach a flash unit or other compatible accessories. A hot shoe is a cold shoe with an electrical connection that insures communication and synchronization between camera and accessory.)

    • Screen Resolution: 2,359,000 pixels (Screens come in a range of resolutions (measured in pixels, horizontal x vertical). The higher the resolution, the greater the picture quality.)
    • Viewfinder Type: Optical (A viewfinder is the part of a camera (or attachment) that allows you to see and focus a scene in frame. Optical viewfinders let you view the scene directly through the lens. Electronic viewfinders display the image on a screen in its approximate final form.)
    • Viewfinder Magnification: 0.7 times (The measurement of the apparent size of the image in the viewfinder compared to how it would be seen with the naked eye.)
    • Touch Screen: true (Touch-screen devices make navigating more intuitive. Using a touch-screen display, you can do things such as tap to select, hold and drag to move items, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom.)
    • Varying Angle Screen: true (The camera's screen can be flipped out and adjusted to rotate, tilt, and/or swivel.)

Q: Can I use all lens of Nikon D7200 for Nikon D850

A: 7200 is crop frame DX camera, 850 full FX, so I’m not sure if 850 has a mode to adjust for using as such. Suggest check Nikon web site for 850, should have compatibility lists available.

Q: How would a D850 owner benefit from a trade to to the D870

A: The Nikon D850 and the D780 are two completely different cameras that each have their own specific features to help with different types of photography or video needs. The D780 will act much like our Mirrorless Z6 camera when used in the Live View Setting. It has the advantage of using the phase detect focusing system while having added focus features like Eye-AF. While both of these cameras can shoot in 4k UHD, the updated focusing system also helps the D780 excel when recording video. The D780 also has a higher native ISO than the D850, being able to go up to 51,200, compared to the D850 being able to go to 25,600. If you need more information, please feel free to contact Nikon Customer Support.

Q: Does the d780 allow you to rate pictures in camera (1-5 star rating) like Canon does (Nikon d750 does not)?

A: Yes, in the Nikon D780, you can rate pictures using a 1-5 star rating.

Q: Korean language ?

A: The US Version of the Nikon D780 will have English, Spanish, French and Portuguese as their language options.

Q: Does the d780 has a zoom function or button?

A: No, the zoom feature you seek is part of the lens system on this camera and other Nikon camera systems.

    Excellent and professional camera

This is an excellent camera for those like me who wanted more professional options and ability then i was getting with the entry-level consumer DSLR. Very little to not like. I wish it had illuminated buttons on back. I wish it offered a larger number of focus points and crosstype focus points. Maybe even a little bit higher resolution, say around 35 megapixels would have been nice. But overall, I really am liking it.
