Since getting this it's become my most used lens by a country mile. I do a lot of landscape photography and find that this focal length range covers most of what I want to shoot, and since I'm usually stopping down anyways the maximum aperture is not a limitation. The only time I find myself swapping this out is either for a faster lens (astro, portraiture) or higher magnification (macro), otherwise this is mounted at all times. If you're new to the Nikon Z ecosystem this is an easy recommendation.

If I had to have just one lens from the Z system, it would be this lens. It focuses quite close, is very sharp, covers a nice zoom range, and has a wide enough aperture to be used for pretty much anything. I never felt hampered by this lens. Whatever zoom position and aperture I used this lens at, it delivered.

I recently upgraded from the Nikon Z 24-70 f/4 lens to this lens. While it is heavier and larger, the versatility of the extra range is impressive and is worth the tradeoff in size and weight for me. The build quality feels really solid and it does not require the lens to be extended before shooting. I have used it on Z7II and Z9 and find that it balances well with both cameras.

This is a great lens. I used it for a Birthday party and a wedding. Used it with my Nikon z6ll camera. Plan on purchasing a few more Nikkor Z lenses.

The focal length is good enough for you to carry this one lens for the majority of the time, pretty sharp optics and is very good for video. The downside of the lens is the f4 aperture which will require you to bring a faster aperture lens wherever you go

I have received my Z 24-120mm f/4 S lens on 12/22/21. After a long wait I was so excited to use it on my Nikon Z6ii. I had before the 24-70mm S, but I wasn't happy because the zoom range was not long enough. This new Z 24-120mm f/4 S lens is also as sharp, but in addition the zoom range is fantastic, I've been doing already street photos, Landscape and some portraits and the clarity on the images are excellent. Attached see a sample I took I Sunny Isles in Miami. I did some minors adjustments on the exposure because I always shoot in raw. The Nikon Z6ii with the Z 24-120mm f/4 S is the perfect Nikon walk around gear !!! Thank you so much Nikon !!!

All the hype about this lens is true. I used it for a paid event indoors. It is also very sharp in all focal lengths. Has fantastic micro contrast and color which is particularly helpful when capturing darker skin tones. this is not a stabilized lens but you won't miss it on a stabilized body. This lens balanced nicely on a z6iiii and doesn't add an unreasonable amount of weight. I'm impress and highly recommend, go get you one.

This is considered the one lens any Z-mount full-frame camera owner should have. I'm glad I got it as a kit lens for my Z8. It's light, works really well for video and matches my 70-200 f2.8 lens filter-wise. I've used it for interviews, and it's sharp and clear, with okay bokeh. I always have it in my kit, but I prefer to use other lenses when I have the chance. But if I needed to travel light and only take one lens on a shoot, this would be the one. It's the best compromise between weight and quality. With the latest Z8 firmware, you can also use digital zoom on the camera to take advantage of the 8k sensor when shooting in 4k. That's a neat trick, and saves you from having to buy the new Nikkor PowerZoom video lens with same focal length and aperture.

I like this lens very much. I use it all most of the time on my mirrorless camera. It is useful and does well with low light situations. Is this massively better than a similar f-mount lens on my D750 DSLR? Not really. If you are thinking of upgrading to mirrorless, I haven't found the advantages to be worthwhile. I just bought a separate camera because I wanted a backup camera in case my D750 failed at an event and this one seemed like a good one (the z6ii with this lens). A solid lens and a good performer but not worth the money to replace your old technology in my opinion.

Fantastic lens, especially if you only can afford one lens with your purchase. It is razer sharp, with incredible contrast and minimal to no flaring.

I'm an amateur photographer and have had several photos published in our local county magazine. For the money this lens a great range and sharpness for the price. For the majority of beginners and photography enthusiastics it will be a great lens to add to your collection of lenses. It operates smooth, quick and quiet on any Z series Nikon camera body.

Fantastic lens!! I use the 24-120 f4 AFS-G version my D6 camera and needed the same focal range for my Z9. I snapped it up from Best Buy and am very pleased with it. Sharp photos 24 thru 120 range, I see a faster focusing lens compared to the G series. Firm, but not tight focus twist. Feels quality and is quality constructed. Very pleased I own it. Highly recommended.

One lens to rule them all. Outstanding build quality, superb sharp photos and an all rounder from indoor and landscape, wedding to sports, you won’t take this off of your camera.

this lens is great however unless you’re doing frequent large groups or wide pan areas, a prime lens could possibly work better for your buck

This is a great "all-around" do-it-all lens. Well, almost all....kind of lacks on the long end, which is why I ended up going with a Tamron 70-180 f2.8 G2. In addition, it doesn't have VR, so using it on a DX body like a Z50 / Z50II isn't the greatest experience. But honestly, for $999 (sale price), I could see this being a great happy medium solution for someone who just wanted a slightly larger aperture without having a huge / expensive lens (just make sure it's a FX body, as they all have image stabilization built into the body).

Probably one of the highest versatile Z mount lenses. Great image sharpness across all focal lengths. Great for travel and portrait
