Is worth every penny very fast, very sharp and very light

It's sharp across the entire range, fast, and incredibly versatile. One of the biggest advantages is the IF. Because the barrel doesn't extend, it keeps dust and dirt out, a real plus when you're hiking or shooting in a rough environment. Yes, the price is on the higher side, but this is the kind of lens you buy once and rely on for the next 10 years. The build quality, optical performance, weather resistance, and lightweight design justify the investment. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll need an EXPEED 7 or newer body to take full advantage of its fast autofocus.
