2 SB-R200 speedlights
With IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) and series circuitry enable optimal close-up lighting control, so you can take stunning, properly lit shots.
Flash compensation and flash ratio control
Along with a 78° horizontal and 60° vertical angle of coverage make it simple to achieve a desired lighting effect.
Bounce capability
Lets you tilt the flash head down to 60° with stops every 15° or up to 45° with stops every 15° to accommodate lenses with short working distances.
Wireless design
Enables simple portability and ease of use. Each SB-R200 speedlight offers 4 independent channels, plus 3 remote groups, for shooting in competitive wireless environments.
SX-1 master attachment ring
Accommodates up to 8 SB-R200 speedlights off-camera or up to 4 SB-R200 speedlights on-camera.
Can be combined with select speedlights
Including SB-600, SB-700, SB-800 and SB-900 models, so you can enjoy additional creative lighting effects (additional speedlights not included).

Can this be used with the Nikon D5?
Answered by NikonStaffNo. In order to use the two SB-200's that come in R1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System kit with the Nikon D5 you would need the SU-800 commander, which is not included in the R1 kit, but is included in the R1C1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System kit.
Can this product be used on regular pictures, such us weddings, birthdays, or daily pictures?
Answered by NikonStaffR1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight External Flash System, with its dual SB-R200 remote speed lights that attach to the mounting ring that supports 52mm, 62mm, 67mm,72mm and 77mm lens diameters, is best suited for close-up type photography. That is not to say is cannot be used for taking closer portraits at weddings and birthdays!
Could I use this system with a Nikon d90 and an 85mm macro lens? Do I also have to remove the flash for portraits?
Answered by NikonStaffThe Nikon -R1 Wireless Close-up Speedlight External Flash System is compatible with the Nikon D90 DSLR camera and AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85MM f/3.5G ED VR along with other Micro/Macro lenses. If you don't want to use flash there are settings to turn it off without removing the flash itself. If you need troubleshooting information please contact Nikon Support.
