  • Key Specs
    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.3 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
  • General
    • Brand: Nikon
    • Model Number: 1641
    • Product Name: Z 5 w/ NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR
    • Color: Black
    • Digital Camera Type: Mirrorless Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Sensor Size: 35mm Full Frame (36 x 24 mm)
    • Digital Zoom: None (A digital zoom is accomplished electronically, with no adjustment of the camera's optics, and no optical resolution gained in the process. The existing data is not enhanced or added to, merely displayed at a lower resolution, thereby giving an illusion of an enlarged image.)
    • In-Camera Image Stabilization: true (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. In-camera stabilization means the image sensor itself moves to counteract detected motion.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): RAW, TIFF, JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
    • Eye Autofocus (Eye AF): true (Automatically seeks out and focuses on the subject's eye and holds it as the camera and subject move and as the photographer shoots at high frame rates.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/8000 to 30 sec. in steps of 1/3 or 1/2 EV, bulb, time, X200 (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: f/36 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: f/4 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 100 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 51200 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 102400 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds
    • Shooting Modes: Auto; Programmed auto with flexible program (P); Shutter-priority auto (S); Aperture-priority auto (A); Manual (M); User settings (U1, U2, U3) (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • White Balance Modes: Auto (3 types), Choose color temperature (2,500 K–10,000 K), Cloudy, Direct sunlight, Flash, Fluorescent (7 types), Incandescent, Natural light auto, Preset manual (up to 6 values can be stored), all with fine-tuning, Shade (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.3 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Nikon Z
    • Lens Type: All-in-One Zoom
    • Minimum Focal Length: 24 millimeters (The minimum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The shorter the focal length, the greater the area of scene captured.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 200 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • Lens Series: Nikon Z (The product group that the lens belongs to, based on similar shared features.)
    • Lens Model Number: 20092
  • Flash
    • Integrated Flash: false

    • Screen Resolution: approx. 2100k-dot (Screens come in a range of resolutions (measured in pixels, horizontal x vertical). The higher the resolution, the greater the picture quality.)
    • Viewfinder Type: Electronic (A viewfinder is the part of a camera (or attachment) that allows you to see and focus a scene in frame. Optical viewfinders let you view the scene directly through the lens. Electronic viewfinders display the image on a screen in its approximate final form.)
    • Touch Screen: true (Touch-screen devices make navigating more intuitive. Using a touch-screen display, you can do things such as tap to select, hold and drag to move items, swipe to scroll, and pinch to zoom.)
  • Video
    • Standardized Video Resolution: 4K (2160p) (An approximated measurement of the product’s video resolution. This may not be the exact resolution of the product, which may be slightly more or less when using a pixel-by-pixel measurement.)
    • Video Resolution(s) and Frame Rate(s): 4K (2160p) video recording at 60 fps (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, and the frame rate used to capture the video. • Rated 5 out of 5 stars

You'll love this camera / lens. Just buy it.

I really am impressed with the Z5 / 24-200 lens combo. I think it's the perfect lens to start out with on the Z series camera bodies. It's a great walk around lens. The reach is great and it works really well with the 5 axis built in stabilization built into the Z5 body. It allows you to get sharp photos handheld even in low light without the ISO going too high. I must say i really love the EVF in this camera. I came from a D7500 which has an optical view finder. This allows you to see in real time what your photo will look like. No more guessing! At $1999, even on sale, it wasn't exactly cheap. But...you have to remember...you're getting a full frame mirrorless Nikon camera and a really good lens. Those lenses add up quickly. As a retired LEO / amateur photographer, I'm very excited to get to know my Z5 over the next few years as I travel the USA.

    Great images

I recently purchased the Nikon Z5 kit with the 24-200mm lens and found the camera and lens to be a great combination. What I really like about the Z5 is the size and the shape of the grip. It makes for a smaller size camera that is easy to hold. I like the dual SD card slots, the menu customizations modes, and the ability to create your own filters in camera. From my initial tests, the camera performs very well using high ISO setting and the autofocus is quick. Only issues I've found is the low burst rate, and 4K crop for video (which I don’t use much; I prefer photos). So, if you’re an amateur / freelance photographer this package is a great value.
