4.8(5 reviews)What an amazing laptop for the price. I don't understand why any one would ever pay double to triple the price for another "name brand". It runs well while I'm using several tabs, videos, editing, LLM and runs seemlessly through my other two monitors. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product for any one looking to ungrade without spending thousands of dollars.

It holds up fairly well, but definitely has some odd quirks. I'll start out with the good stuff first. The chargers really impress me. They're convenient and hold up WELL, even if I wish they were the side-ways USB-Cs, rather than the standard ones to prevent damage to the power plug ins. It also looks good and has a pretty solid keyboard that I'm confident will hold up to the heavy usage I'll put it through. I'm unsure if I just got unlucky, or if all are like this. There's random rebooting, and a lot of struggling with memory when playing games or browsing despite having 16Gbs of ram. It does tend to also overheat if stored for a quick 15 minute drive in a laptop bag, even when it's in sleep mode and has browsing sites open or background things running. I find it in the mornings often having the fans running full blast despite nothing running on it.

At 57 years old I've weathered the PC/Laptop world from the beginning. From my Commodore 64 and Amiga days, I still own 3. As a side note the Amiga was so ahead of its times. To the nightmare 5000 dollar 386 laptops when Intel could ask anything they wanted to and we had to pay it. It's 2026 now and Nimo caught my attention. I needed a fairly capable laptop powered by AMD. They broke Intels strangle hold on CPU's and taught us all you don't need fabs to own the performance cpu market. Now Nimo is teaching us a laptop with top tier specs doesn't need to be expensive or heavy. I ordered the AMD HX 370 with 890M graphics, 64 gigs of memory and 2 TB of SSD storage and and that nice 17.3 inch screen that's easy on my old eyes. Nimo ships very fast (1 day!) the lappy arrived quickly and was well packed for safety(thanks Nimo), I looked at the specs on the sticker stuck to the box, yep 64 gigs...nice! 2TB of SSD storage.....nice! Ooooh the new Nimo AMD 370HX and the 890M! Never used any of them before. My computer collection is filled with AMD rigs but this is a first, my first Nimo and my first AMD HX Ryzen cpu. My main rig is a new hand built AMD Ryzen 9950X3D2 and it destroys games but how will this new Nimo lappy handle my daily grind? We shall see. I unboxed the Nimo and my first impression is very impressed. Such a clean, lightweight design! It looks and feels expensive. I've owned several expensive laptops in my life (Apple and Alienware I'm glaring at you) and this Nimo feels expensive and light! Talk about lightweight! I was excited to turn on my new daily work and gaming laptop. The keyboard design falls right to my hands and that little round power button begs to be pressed. One small press and the Nimo sprang to life and I love the screen! Big and the perfect rez for me. Colors and clarity are fantastic and the refresh rate sooths my online gaming eyes. After the usual updates to windows and a Linux partition which my Nimo seemed to enjoy I installed my first game. The triple AAA title Assassin's creed black flag. I didn't expect much honestly but I was so very wrong. This Nimo laptop maxed out the graphic settings at the screen maximum and the FPS are way more than just playable, color me impressed! Smooth, no jitters, no extreme dips in FPS just wonderfully smooth. I threw on Metal Storm a modern jet combat game that is one of my favorites. I'm so blown away! This Nimo laptop is just so amazingly capable at a price that was more than fair. Beautiful colors, smooth gameplay, no ghosting, just amazing! Yes of course the Nimo does all the other things more than well. All the boring things work perfectly like writing a paper or browsing Steam are peachy! All the daily things are done with no fuss just smooth and quiet(no moving parts or loud fans!) Nimo has earned a loyal customer and I'll be keeping an eye on their products for my next purchase. I hope they continue to focus on quality laptops and their desktop rigs look promisi

I bought my Nimo laptop as a replacement for my older Alienware desktop. I'm impressed! Right out of the box, it's just better. Of course, it should be better. A lot has happened in four years with tech, particularly AI. I'm stunned by how fast my Nimo is. It tears through AI prompts and tasks like lightning. I look forward to four or five years with it as my main computer. It's bonus that the thing is aesthetically beautiful. And I'll buy another Nimo, should the need arise.

I have only had it for about a week and a half, but I've had many and been running computers for over 20 years, so I'm going to take some privilege from that. I bought and use this for a music production laptop as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. I use Acoustica Mixcraft 10.6 on it with an array of plugins from Izotope effects, to different guitar modeling and mastering software. And it runs it all very good. The guitar modeling software like Line 6 Native to Neural DSP's especially, which all my past computers didn't as well. It's fast, and quality made. Using quality componets and an aluminum casing, which is one thing I particularly prefer. The graphics are clear and vibrant, and the layout of plug spots are well laid out. Nimo seems like a good company and from the good ole US which I prefer too. Hopefully I won't need any warranty work, but if I do, I expect they will take care it. John Joseph

Great laptop for the price and performance. Great review policy. A little buggy on the sleep refresh as it would not power on sometimes after hitting the power button until i held it down for awhile in cycles. Overall Great deal.

So far so good! While it does come with Windows preinstalled. I immediately took my Debian Testing nvme drive out of my old laptop and installed it, while wiping Windows and installing Fedora Budgie 10.10 on the nvme drive that came with it. Solid laptop, Linux friendly to thus far!

Review: by Chuck Orellana Rating: The "Sleeper" Performance (When It Works) On paper, this machine is a dream. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with 32GB of DDR5 and a 144Hz screen makes my old Surface Pro 6 feel like a calculator. For casual gaming, it handles Lies of P and Red Dead Redemption 2 at 30fps on adjusted specs quite well. However, the software optimization is clearly not there yet-my favorite game, Dead Island 2 (all DLC), simply "throws it up" and refuses to start at all. The "Prison Camera" & Battery Mirage For a "2026 AI Laptop," two things are inexcusable: * The Webcam: It is genuinely "prison camera" quality. I tried an Instagram Live and the image was so "crunchy" and ugly I couldn't even look at it. If you plan on streaming, an external camera isn't a suggestion-it's a requirement. * The Battery: Nimo claims 5-6 hours. Even on the strictest power-saving settings, I'm seeing more like 2 hours and 40 minutes. It's a "portable" laptop that is terrified of being away from a wall socket. The Windows 11 Assassination Attempt Within 48 hours, Windows 11 nearly killed the machine. It threw cryptic "broken" codes and refused to boot. It only revived after an hour of emergency charging. It makes me wonder if the OS is a symbiote or a parasite. The 8-Week Exile (A Message to Nimo) Here is the heavy part: I got everything ready to work, rode my bike, and was hit by a car and left for dead. I am now stuck in a hospital bed for 8 weeks. My Nimo is sitting in my room, thousands of miles away from my touch. I am sitting here miserable, wondering if the quality is high enough to survive 2 months of sitting idle, or if Windows 11 is currently bricking it while I'm not there to defend it. Nimo Team: I'm a conscious mind trying to stay sane while my body heals. I've got a broken body and a laptop that won't run my favorite game. A little sympathy-maybe some advice on that camera or a fix for Dead Island 2-would go a long way for a user who can't even walk to his desk right now.

I haven't received my order through no fault of the company. I live in Alaska, and you should be shipping to Alaska. I had to ship to a freight forwarder in Seattle, and pay to have it sent to Alaska. I am eagerly awaiting its arrival!! I'm excited for my new laptop to arrive! Everything was seamless getting it to Seattle.

I have a loaded Nimo N178 AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX with a 3-extra monitor setup (4 monitors total) and a thunderbolt-connected, externally powered Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti "eGPU". Couldn't be happier. The laptop does benefit from an aftermarket cooler as all the AMD kit can produce some heat. The external Nvidia capability (not Nimo of course) sealed the deal. The AMD NPU was just a bonus. I love Nimo so much, I purchased 2 additional N171 "basic" laptops for family members that do normal laptop stuff. 17.3 inch screen is nice. No experience gaming on my N178 as playing with AI locally while monitoring the market on a couple of those extra screens was my focus.

The listing says Memory Clock Speed 5600 MHz, but CPU-Z shows Max Bandwidth DDR5-4800 (2400 MHz). This is likely inaccurate advertising. In practice, the laptop runs stable and performs well, but the memory speed isn't what the listing claims. Buyers should be aware that stock RAM defaults to 4800 MT/s, so you won't get the advertised 5600 MHz without upgrading or tweaking BIOS settings.

I intended to use it for linux programming. I installed debian linux on it, started to work great. All graphics/audio/bluetooth/wifi worked from the start. But then i had a total freeze, and another one. Each time I had to powercycle the unit, restart it and that would repeat over and over. I finally installed text only (so no graphics) environment. I let it run memtest86+ , that passed without any problems. Then I started compiling the linux kernel and it kept freezing up on me all the time. As soon as something CPU intensive is being used, it freezes up solid. Unworkable for me. For reference: I also have a nimo N153B which is rock solid with the same workload/environment. It is just this combination that is totally unstable for my setup. Hence I returned it.
