A: BUYER BEWARE, this blender only has a 1200 watt motor and that is listed on the packaging and unit itself. It has a peak watt of 1400 which is a misleading number. (Here's a good article to help you understand the difference between peak wattage and actual wattage on blenders: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/the-truth-about-horsepower-in-blenders-and-food-processors/ ) I can only assume manufacturers are purposely pushing this peak watt number to mislead customers as it seems irrelevant to blender performance. Again my personal opinion from research on what peak watt means, see article, because that peak watt is only for the initial moment you turn it on, a fraction of a second and then it will run at it's regular watt. It is interesting that Ninja prominently prints peak wattage on front of box for all blenders I found with lower than ideal actual watt (my opinion), 1200 watts and lower, but listed the actual watt, with no reference anywhere to peak watt, on the Ninja Mega Kitchen System. Which was the only blender of theirs that I've found with more than 1200 watts, boasting an actual watt of 1500. Consumer tip, look on the bottom of box or the base of the blenders motor for actual wattage. I've even seen this misprinted sometimes in the specifications on websites, so they aren't always accurate. It is disappointing to see watt being communicated in such a distorted manner, nowhere does Ninja explain the meaning of peak watt vs actual watt, I hope I am wrong and it is an innocent oversight on their part that has made this difficult for consumers to discern. In my experience and for my personal use, the high actual watt matters. My old 1500 watt motor (actual watt, Ninja blender) did not maintain it's initial level of performance for long though i was happy with it still. It lasted about 5 years before the motor burned out,,with heavy use making thick smoothies. If you will be using it less frequently and for "gentler" uses you might be fine with lower watts. I did replace with a Ninja, but went with another 1500 actual watt motor, the Ninja Mega.
