Customer Ratings & Reviews

The Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Charging Grip is a must-have accessory for Switch 2 owners who value seamless gameplay and ergonomic comfort. Retailing at around $29.99, this upgraded grip delivers on its promise to enhance the gaming experience by combining practicality with a premium feel. Charging Convenience: One of the standout benefits of the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip is its ability to charge your Joy-Cons while you play. Unlike the standard grip included with the Nintendo Switch 2, which lacks charging capabilities, this grip features a USB-C port that powers up your Joy-Cons when connected to a power source. This means you can enjoy extended gaming sessions without worrying about your controllers dying mid-game—perfect for long RPGs or intense multiplayer matches. The grip doesn’t have an internal battery, so you’ll need to keep it plugged in, but this is a small trade-off for uninterrupted play. Ergonomic Comfort: The Charging Grip feels fantastic in hand, offering a marked improvement over the standard grip. Its slightly lower profile and contoured design make it feel more like a traditional controller, which is a relief for gamers who find holding separate Joy-Cons less intuitive. The grip securely holds the Joy-Cons, ensuring they don’t wobble, and the larger L, R, ZL, and ZR buttons (compared to some third-party alternatives) provide a satisfying click and better responsiveness. Reviewers and users consistently praise its comfort, noting it’s ideal for extended play sessions, whether you’re docked to a TV or on the go. Additional Features: Recent posts on X highlight the Switch 2 version of the grip, which introduces customizable back buttons—a nice touch for gamers who want to tweak their controls for a competitive edge. The build quality feels like a step up from the stock grip, with a sturdier construction that enhances durability. Value and Verdict: At $29.99, the Charging Grip is a worthwhile investment for dedicated Switch 2 players, especially those who primarily play in docked mode. While it’s not essential (Joy-Cons can charge when attached to the console), the ability to keep playing while charging and the improved ergonomics make it a game-changer for comfort and convenience. If you’re looking to elevate your Switch 2 experience, this grip is a no-brainer. Rating: 4.5/5 – A comfortable, practical accessory that keeps your Joy-Cons charged and your hands happy.

The Nintendo Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip is a sleek and practical upgrade for Switch 2 users. It not only improves ergonomics for extended gameplay but also keeps your Joy-Cons charged while you play. The grip feels sturdy, fits comfortably in hand, and features a subtle LED indicator for battery status. Ideal for gamers who hate interruptions, this accessory ensures your Joy-Cons stay powered during long sessions. A simple yet essential addition to any Switch 2 setup.

This grip is much better than the stock grip that comes with the console. Built in charging port and the grip buttons are perfect for ease of use in games. The price could be better but it’s Nintendo what can you do

Charges the joycons away from the base, but this time two programmable triggers on the grip to make more use of the accessory.

Overall great product. It charges the remote well which is great since the switch 2 has a horrible battery life. The remote feels natural and makes games playing on the tv easier.

A must have, love that with an extra pair of joyconsI can have them charging while I play.

An awesome piece of equipment I own. I game a lot on the go and having the ability to keep my joy-cons charged while outside is a totally game changer!!!

Looks and feels closely to the pro controller which is the reason for this purchase. Got a deal too very happy thanks

Nice to be able to charge the joycons without them being docked. Wish it was included though

This grip is much better than the regular grip that comes with the console.

Ergonomic grip with extra GL/GR buttons, charges Joy-Con 2 while playing. Perfect for long sessions, sturdy build. Essential Switch 2 accessory!

The charging grip probably shouldn't be this gosh darn pricey, but everything is these days. The upside is that it's a tremendous addition, with largely the same feel as the basic grip the system came with, but adding both a USB-C so you can charge the joy-cons without docking them to the system, or while you're playing and the batteries are getting low. That's the obvious reason to get it, if you're a marathon player. The other perk is that it adds a couple of extra programmable buttons, GL and GR, on the back. I didn't think I'd use them much but in some games I actually like programming them to use something otherwise hard to quickly reach. It's a good feel. I'd like to see Nintendo get the price down because let's get real, there's no way the grip needs to cost this much to make. But it's very worthwhile.

The Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip is a great accessory for the Nintendo Switch 2. It charges both Joy-Cons while you play which is really convenient — no more running out of battery mid-session. The grip itself feels comfortable in hand and is well built. Charges reliably and quickly every time. A must-have accessory if you use your Joy-Cons frequently.

They’re a bit step up from the normal grips as these have a charging port, allowing you to play for longer sessions without having to dock them on the Switch 2. The back buttons are also a nice addition since the normal grips don’t have them either

I bought the grip solely because I wanted gl, and gr buttons without buying a pro controller. For that reason alone its worth it. Moreso if you mainly use the system handheld. The marerial used for it is a clear step up from whats packed in and I can easily recommend it to anyone looking for a "cheap" controller upgrade over the pack in.

I didn’t realize how convenient this grip would be until I used it. Being able to charge the Joy-Cons while playing is a game-changer, especially during longer sessions. The grip feels solid and comfortable, basically identical to the standard one but with the added bonus of charging. Definitely worth grabbing if you play docked or on a stand a lot.

Your swiitch 2 comes withnone of these, however this one has mappable buttons on the back and the ability to charge your joycon 2 controllers while connected. Just plug it in.

I highly recommend this amazing product, the nintendo switch 2 joy con grip is amazing i recommend this to everyone who owns a nintendo switch 2 i love the extra buttons on the back of the grip its made very solid amazing build quality.

It's nice to be able to charge your JoyCons with this grip. It's also awesome that the grip includes the GL and GR buttons on the grip! The customizable buttons are worth it!

Not exactly the same, but close enough to the grip that comes with the bundle. Holds the joycons good.
