The Retroid Pocket Nova is one of those handhelds that makes classic games feel new again. The 4:3 OLED screen is easily one of its biggest strengths. Older 8-bit and 16-bit games look incredibly vibrant, and handheld titles especially benefit from the sharp display and perfect contrast. Games that I remember playing decades ago almost feel like they’ve been brought back to life. The real surprise, though, is the power behind this little device. Its CPU has more than enough horsepower to handle systems like the Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, and GameCube extremely well. With the right settings, these games run smoothly and make the Nova feel like much more than a retro handheld. What really caught me off guard was discovering that you can even get original Xbox games running on it with some tweaking. That's something I honestly wasn't expecting from a device this size. For me, the Nova hits a great balance between nostalgia and modern hardware. The 4:3 OLED makes classic games look fantastic, while the powerful hardware gives you access to generations of games that I never expected a handheld like this to handle. It's basically a love letter to classic gaming with enough power to take that experience much further.
