Easy use/setup but cant connect wireless cameras

The Eufy automated customer support was actually helpful. Simple installation. Only draw back is they havent released the connector that will all you to add a camera wireless. They say its coming.

  • Have any wireless add on cameras

No, the NVR S4 system does not natively support wireless add-on cameras. It is designed exclusively for PoE (wired) cameras. However, you can still use wireless eufy cameras (like the SoloCam or eufyCam series) alongside this NVR in the same eufy Security app on your phone. The wireless cameras will connect to a separate HomeBase (sold separately), while the NVR handles its wired cameras. The app allows you to view all cameras in one place, but they operate as two separate systems for recording and management. To add wireless cameras, you would need to purchase the appropriate HomeBase (e.g., HomeBase 3) and the wireless cameras separately.

  • Good Day , I'm trying to purchase the the internal hard drive unit that goes into the eufy e40 2 cam home unit, it says to use type HDD or SSD capacity unlimited size2.5" interface SATA ,, please inform me where to get this hard drive for my eufy system.

Good day! For your eufy NVR S4 (8CH) system, you need a 2.5-inch SATA internal hard drive or SSD. eufy states capacity is "unlimited size" with a 2.5" SATA interface. Where to purchase: Amazon – Search "2.5-inch SATA HDD" (e.g., Seagate Barracuda, WD Blue, or WD Purple for surveillance use). Best Buy – In-store or online (e.g., WD Purple 2.5" surveillance drives are often available). Newegg – Wide selection of 2.5-inch SATA drives, including enterprise-grade surveillance models. B&H Photo – Reliable for storage hardware. Important recommendations: Surveillance-rated drives (e.g., WD Purple, Seagate SkyHawk) are designed for 24/7 recording and are more reliable in NVR systems. Max supported capacity: eufy says "up to 16TB" for your model. At 2.5", the highest common capacity is 5TB (Seagate Barracuda), but ensure compatibility with your specific firmware version for anything over 2TB. SSDs work perfectly (faster but more expensive per TB). A 1TB or 2TB 2.5" SATA SSD is a great upgrade for reliability. Quick links (not direct, but search terms): "Seagate Barracuda 2.5" 2TB SATA HDD" "WD Purple 2.5" 1TB SATA HDD" "Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" SATA SSD" Final tip: Before buying, confirm the exact slot orientation inside your eufy NVR. Open the case and measure the drive bay (it should clearly be a 2.5-inch slot). If it turns out to be a 3.5-inch bay, you will need a 2.5-to-3.5 adapter bracket (sold cheaply on Amazon) to mount the drive securely. Hope this helps you get your eufy system running smoothly!

  • I’ve cancelld my ADT System and still have the cameras installed, Can i plug adt cameras that are hard wired via ethernet into this nvr ???

Currently, our available information does not explicitly confirm if ADT cameras hardwired via Ethernet are compatible with the NVR S4 system you mentioned. Compatibility of third-party cameras with NVR systems primarily depends on whether both devices support the same protocols (e.g., ONVIF or RTSP). eufy devices, as an example, support RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) for video saving to NAS, meaning compatibility depends on standardized communication protocols between devices. If the ADT cameras support the same protocols as the NVR S4 (such as ONVIF or RTSP), they may work. You might need to review the ADT camera documentation for supported protocols or consult with the device's specifications for further clarification. Additionally, ensure proper software configuration if needed. Let me know if you need further clarification!

  • Will this work with Lorex POE cameras?

Based on the available knowledge, there is no information confirming compatibility between the NVR S4 and Lorex POE cameras. Compatibility would depend on specific technical aspects such as communication protocols and connection standards, which are not detailed in the current documentation. For more certainty, you may want to verify the compatibility of the NVR S4 with Lorex POE cameras based on detailed specifications or compatibility lists provided by both manufacturers.
