I didn't even know this game was coming out but when I found out about it a few days before it release I thought oh okay a sort of spin off prequel to the Octopath series, but boy was I floored!! I enjoyed this game so much more than the first Octopath which felt difficult to level and I would always have to grind to get anywhere. I love the concept of the Octopath games where you can choose which story lines to pursue, but in the first game it felt a bit all over the place since you have to keep your level in line with each chapter of each story line. This Octopath felt challenging but not teeth grindingly hard, and had less story lines to choose from so each one felt focused on when completing it. Leveling for each story line felt natural as well. They very much honed the concept of the Octopath series with this game. And the "build your town" mechanic was very well executed and added a fun and exciting new element to the game. As always, I am floored by the characters and their story/development. I love the main trio of the protagonist and your two best friends. Getting to customize your own character is always and added plus! And I could go on and on about how well done each story line was created, I could not put the game down!!! Highly recommend even if you haven't played another Octopath before.

Taking place before the first game, this prequel adds more story to the overall beast of both 1 and 2. The amazing art is still present here, and the game manages to feel new without feeling like the prequel is more advanced if that makes sense. Timeline-wise it is believable that this gameplay would exist prior.

great transaction for a great game. if you need a game you can put some hours into.. this is it. This game has a lot of the themes, graphics and battle mechanics as the other two Octopath games. The game is an alternate version of the phone app "Octopath Traveler: champions of the continent" with new game developments and new music by composer, Yasunori Nishiki. You will love this game. Sit back and enjoy.

this is my game of the year. Octopath travelor is such an amazing game. you will get bang for your buck took me 125 hours to beat the game. I played all 3 octopaths travelor but this one is by far my favorite.

Its over 100 hours of gameplay. It drags on and you will probably get burnt out eventually, but nobody said you had to binge it. It's thoroughly enjoyable for the price.

If you loved the first 2 games, youll love this prequel! It was a mobile game that they turned into a real game, they did great!

My sister loved the gift, and it's a much better value than the Switch 2 equivalent given that's only a Key Card.
