What an amazingly beautiful game! The HD-2D graphics are stunning on my 4k display. And the gameplay is engaging in all the right ways. Incredible characters and music make this a must buy for any fan of classic JRPG’s.

Great game. If you like turn base RPG, old Final Fantasy, this game is a must. Was very hard to find a hard copy but I found one at Best Buy after a long search.

It’s an improvement on the first game in every way. In fact you can pretty much skip the first game if this one is calling to you. Keep in mind it has random encounters and other quirks of the genre.

octopath traveler II is Amazing and possibly the best new retro Rpg game made to date. no one should miss this title 10/10

Pros: - Top notch sound track as always - Much better stories and character personalities than OT 1 - Combat / game play is superb with minor improvements over OT 1. - Has new cross path and epilogue stories to tie the travelers' stories together. - Quests and optional dungeons overall feels better than the original. Cons - Still no New Game + mode (probably intended by design) - Most of the characters are OP in their own way, with the exception of Oswald the scholar. The scholar this time around is by no means a bad class, just gets outclassed by the original scholar and the rest of the cast. Verdict - Highly recommended

Absolutely love Octopath Traveler II. One of the best modern JRPGs of all time. This game is a love letter to fans of the classic JRPG genre. Octopath Traveler I is a masterpiece and Square Enix greatly improved upon it in the sequel. Story: Each of the 8 Octopath Travelers have amazing individual stories and themes. You are fully immersed in the world and engaged in each of the character’s conflicts and resolutions from start to end. The characters in the party actually feel like friends traveling together in an epic journey. The overarching theme of the story is darker, yet the player is captivated throughout their entire playthrough. In comparison to the previous installment, Square Enix listened to the feedback of the players by implementing better character development, party interaction, and intertwining connection between all the stories. Overall, great story! Gameplay: Octopath Traveler II refined upon the turn-based “break & boost” combat system from the previous game. As a fan of the first game, Square Enix surpassed my expectations for improving in the sequel. There are so many quality of life updates to the overworld and gameplay mechanics. I enjoy the dynamic battle system, water travel, and day and night path actions. In world exploration, you will marvel at the breathtaking HD 2D graphics. Each of the distinct 8 regions in Solisitia are visually stunning to traverse. Each town is lively and filled with unique side stories from all NPCs. In combat, there are many more tools available at your disposal. There are more abilities, adjustments to existing and new jobs, and various new passive abilities. You are always engaged in every battle as you strategize your plan of attack to achieve victory. This is most notable in boss battles, which I particularly enjoyed. You will definitely have so much fun in the game and play for countless hours. Overall, absolutely incredible gameplay. Music: Yasunori Nishiki, composer for Octopath Traveler I & II, did an astounding job for the OST. Each track in the game fits perfectly with every scenario and situation. The orchestral accompaniment to the gameplay supplements the player’s experience. The prominent use of strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion complement each track well. Whether it is exploring different areas of the map, character themes, or battle themes, the soundtrack is a banger. I enjoy listening to Critical Clash 2 (One of the boss themes). It’s so hype, especially when it seamlessly transitions from the character’s theme and into the boss battle. Octopath Traveler does the best at this with its OST. The OST slaps harder than a critical hit with a 4x boost. Overall, I throughly love the music. Overall, Octopath Traveler II deserves a 10/10. This is a must buy and play. I highly recommend this game to fans of JRPGs and the first game.

Man, i have the first Octopath traveler game for my Nintendo switch and was wondering when they would also bring it to the PS5 and lucky for me Square Enix made a part 2 for Multiple Consoles. This game looks beautiful, i love the 3d art style background like the smooth flowing water, the dirt and mountains and trees etc and the 8 bit style character design makes that background pop even more. Im 39 years old and love playing mordern and classic games in 8Bit etc. if you like RPG games and like to play games in 8 bit as well then give this game a try, i don't think you would be disappointed. Its a game that will take you a while to maximize your power level and stats but thats the fun part, you will see how it will start to get much easier to defeat the bad guys in the game as you level up. I love this game alot and my wife had to pry me off rhe controller to go get groceries lol! Very entertaining game that has multiple game save spots to continue right where you last were.

One of my favorite games this year. The stories were all interesting, the music is incredible, the visuals are a step up from the first, and that's a high bar. Truly an amazing rpg.

This game is amazingly fun! I got it after downloading the demo. The demo is about 3 hours and the progress made in it carry over to the full game. The ending boss is a bit hard, but worth it.

I have the unfortunate existence of ebung bereft of a nintendo switch. As such i was unable to play the first installment of this series. However, that has not stopped me for loving its second. With an cast of interesting developed characters, engaging combat, and a amazing story this game is a MUST for any fan if gaming and fantasy.

If you played the first game, this is a must buy and play. Very fun turn based jrpg that improves on almost everything from the first game. The graphics are very charming in the 2d HD style and look great on my LG Oled tv. My only complaint with this game so far is that there is no beastiary to review in the game.

Everything you want from old school RPG with updated graphics, a simple yet fun/engaging battle system, and better variation of main characters with focused + joined stories. Much better than the first game within the first 3-4 hours. I wouldnt be surprised if it ends up on 2023 games of year lists.

Love all of these games in the entire series. It's so DUMB that zero and part 2 are on disk BUT part 1 isn't for ps5 or ps4. DUMB

Great game! I wish there were a few menu tweaks but it runs well, great story and looks pretty for its style of art.

Game improved on in many ways from the first game. Soundtrack is incredible, combat is still fantastic with a few small changes to add more depth, and all the character stories are actually very fun and don’t feel tacked together.

Excellent modern JRPG. It improves on everything the first game did. Better combat, better story and characters, and better graphics.

This game is so difficult but very gorgeous and joyful to play. I did enjoy the first octopath and this one is that but even better!
