Lightweight and small don't mean poor shots. Caught this eagle in Florida while hanging out at the pool!

Its a good zoom lens, specially for that price of $99

I bought this lens to go with the Olympus Pen EP5 and am so glad I did. I usually shoot with primes but sometimes need a longer zoom when working outdoors with animals. However, I've shot with enough Canon zooms that I didn't have high expectations for a kit zoom like this. The price was excellent so I decided to give it a try, and am very pleased with the results. It shoots fast enough outdoors and zooming is a little tight but reasonably smooth. An 80-300mm lens can be quite big and bulky in the dslr world, so from a dslr user's perspective, this lens is very small and light and has great reach. Even with street shooting it isn't that much to add to the EP5 body that it becomes a distraction. People have mentioned that it's plastic but I don't find that a drawback because the build still feels solid and should hold up well so long as I don't run over it with a car tire. But the real surprise is the image quality. Except for the 70-200mm f2.8s, most longer zooms can be pretty mediocre when it comes to IQ. I find the 40-150 to be a little soft at the long end, but the details are crisp throughout most of the rest of the focal range and the color rendition is very nice. So far I haven't shot in super low light with it, but even indoors it doesn't cause the camera to hunt for the shot. This lens and the Olympus 45mm are becoming my two must-haves for dog parks and agility trials. A no-brainer, really.

I was amazed at the sharpness of this little lens in good light. Extremely lightweight also. I would have liked a metal mount, but for the price it's hard to beat. Matched with the Oly kit lens, you will have nifty kit that your back will thank you for.

For the money this lens costs, you really can't beat it's performance. Absolutely no complaints. Yes, it is very light and very plastic, but what do you expect at this price point? :)

Picked up this lens to use on my G7 and its great for the price. There are better options out there but you also pay for the improved glass. If you are looking for your first telephoto lens for a Micro Four Thirds setup this is a great place to start.

This lens is a superb value in the micro 4/3 system. The lens has a medium range focal length perfect for zoo photography etc. The lens is very lightweight and very sharp and has good autofocus performance. This is a must have lens to compliment most kit lenses.

Much better than I was expecting for the money. Pictures are sharp and clear. With m43 crop factor this is really a 80-300 lens. On my M10 Mark II I have the eletronic zoom button on the left side of the camera which doubles the focal length making this lens reach out to an amazing 600mm and the pictures are still very clear when shot with good lighting. It came in very handy at the Atlantic City Air show this year. I received more compliments on my pictures this year than years past.

I was not looking for a pro version of the telephoto lens. I knew that this lens was a bit slower than some of Olympus' premium lenses like the 45 f1.8 and the awesome 75 f1.8, but this lens did exactly what I needed it to. A lightweight telephoto zoom that worked with my EM-5's stabilization to produce excellent daytime shots. if you are looking for a lens for your EM5 or even PEN mirrorless for great photos in plenty of light this is your lens. if you need to take same action shots of a game at night, you better have a tripod or better yet, opt for a much faster 75mm f1.8 lens.

Excellent. I’m giving this lens Five Stars for the really fine clarity of image, fast precise focus, and light weight. For the low price, a really nice mid-length telephoto.

Good images when you have good light. (Daylight). Compact and lighter weight means it's easier to pack and carry when you are traveling/ vacation/ hiking. Cons: Doesn't have metal mounting ring, but the plastic ring makes it lighter.

This camera lens is worth the price isn't the best lens out there but it also is not the worst lens out there. This lens is great for travel. It's small size and great price really makes it worth it.

This lens is an excellent telephoto zoom. The sharpness is outstanding and because of the format it is very lightweight

I have only taken this new lens out a few times since receiving it but I have been very pleased with the quality and ease of use.

I got this as a bundle with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II camera for $100 off and for the price, it is a good value. 150mm is by far not the best zoom lens out there, but it performs well for landscape shots, and is okay at low-light conditions, considering the relatively slow aperture. It takes 58mm thread size filters.

Looks super clear, defined and sharp! Quick focus too!
