This universal remote is a great universal remote that covers my complete entertainment system including 4K Smart HDTV, audio/video receiver, streaming, video gaming system, & sound bar for a very reasonable price. I got it for $45 because I had a $5.00 credit from Best Buy rewards points. As I upgrade my entertainment system the remote should grow along with my entertainment system. If it coukd control room lighting, I would be all set.

Good morning. I absolutely love this All in One Remote. I was able to program every device I threw at it. It is very user friendly and fits in my hand great. The customer service over at the Fort Collins store was outstanding. Specifically the gentleman name "Cozy". He was very informative, as he answered all my questions. I liked it so much that I bought my Father one in Illinois for Father's day. Thanks for putting out there a great product. Jim Danielson

Price is good compared to other universal remote, paring to apple tv is quite difficult specially when assigning the different keys

Factory remotes are garbage. Ours kept doing wild stuff and we replaced it with this guy. It’s the guy she tells you not to worry about.

I needed one single remote to control my home theater components, TV, and Cable Box. I didn't want to spend $100+ on a Harmony remote, so I decided to try this "One for All - 8 Device" remote. I have to say that I am happy with this purchase of this One for All remote. I have an LG TV, Onkyo Home Theater components, Sony X-700 Blue-ray player, and a Verizon Cable box, and this remote turns them all on at the same time (just like a Harmony remote will do). You can program the remote to turn components on individually, or program "activities", where it will turn on multiple components at the same time, with holding down the power button. Programming the remote is fairly easy with the help of the instruction manual. The two reasons I did not give this "One for All" remote 5 stars is because the remote does not have a full-key backlight to light up "all" the keys to the remote. Some of the main functions do light up, but rest of the remote stays dark when it is in use (the numbers and guide button do not light up and that is needed when laying in bed at night). I also did not like how the remote fits in my hand. Its much skinnier than I'm use to, and I would rather have a thicker remote control to fit in my hand better. This remote is Bluetooth and has an app that can be used on your phone to find the remote if it is lost (the remote makes a noise so that you can find it if lost). This is a really cool feature and will probably be used eventually for me. For $40 bucks, it's not a bad deal to buy brand spanking new from Best Buy, but I did find on Ebay that you can buy this remote refurbished for $25. I wanted a brand spanking new remote because I did not want the remote already programmed with someone else's TV and components.

I bought this to help my mother use her Roku. I had tried writing down the instructions which did not work. I then tried taking photographs of exactly what to do along with instructions, which also did not work. I even created a video for her to watch on her cell phone but even that was not enough. My last bet was finding a 'smart' remote to do the work for her. When I learned Logitech no longer made their remote controls I turned to this. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I connected the remote to the 3 devices necessary, in this case the TV, stereo & Roku, and programmed in a command to power on the stereo, change the TV input to the correct channel and power up and control the Roku. I then put in a command on another key to do just the opposite so she could get back to watching her regular programming when she was done with the Roku. It worked so well I purchased 1 for myself to reduce the clutter that comes with a remote for each device.

The URC7880 is a respectable attempt at an Activity and Macro driven remote, but it's shortcomings all come down to this being what I call a "shoehorn" product. The parent company for One For All, Universal Electronics, is basically an OEM for on- and off-branded remotes, things like remotes for hotel TVs, cable boxes, etc. These are not bespoke, highly designed products. They are made to be inexpensive, and they are going to be produced according to fixed design and manufacturing plans. The URC7880 is evidently OFA's attempt to try to take their canned designs to their limit by forcing them to do things they weren't ever really meant to - that is, they tried to "shoehorn" features into this product that were never meant to be there. That's why this remote is so finicky to program, and why it falls short of being a truly good universal remote, despite doing some things really well. Good: nice physical design and button layout, good number of buttons, and a very strong IR emitter. When properly programmed, the device works pretty well. I can fully control an audio and TV setup with two macros and two activities. One macro switches on three devices, sets a TV input, and mutes the screen. Another turns on two devices and sets an input. Bad: nearly all the bad of this remote comes from the "shoehorn" design I described. The microcontroller and memory architecture of this device just weren't meant to do what's being asked of them. That's why there's practically no room for error in programming it. I experienced many of the problems reported by others: buttons that wouldn't learn, or that would seem to erase randomly, or that would, in fact, capture the signal from the source remote but the resulting pulse was all wrong and wouldn't work (I could see that the remote was emitting on the receiver of my IR extender, and the pulse train was visibly wonky). The most infuriating thing was when I finally seemed to be making progress, and suddenly the remote stopped learning after only 15 buttons, acting as though its memory was full. Here's what I think is happening: the remote doesn't fully erase programmed or learned memory. As you attempt to program it, and mistakes are made, erase procedures for keys and macros do not seem to actually remove all traces of previous learned buttons. This results in a steady buildup of data that fills memory, until learning becomes impossible. A couple of times after erasing a button I'd tried several times to program, I actually saw the data build up from each previous attempt to learn get erased in reverse order of how they were entered, and after a couple of erases I got back to the original code I wanted! So the erase function only removes a certain amount of data each time, and anything left sits in unaddressable memory. This is all made worse because there's actually very little programmable memory available in this remote. There also appear to be errors in the microcontroller code. When going into program mode to customize a device, the device has to be selected, naturally. But if you go into program mode with the device already selected, it's even money that your learning for buttons in that device won't be recorded. If you scroll to another device, or scroll back to the one you're starting from, it tends to work much more reliably. Another error is that the keys require relatively long presses to send enough of a pulse to activate whatever function you're trying to control. On the factory remotes, or using a Logitech Harmony, a single button tap gets a response, and taps can be entered very quickly to move fast through menus. Not so the URC7880. It requires presses twice as long, and repeated keying doesn't go fast. This is probably because it doesn't latch the button as soon as pressed (it's that cheap microcontrol hardware/programming again). The final "bad" stuff is really about some design choices. OFA needs to ditch the direct app buttons for Amazon, Netflix, etc. Honestly, who cares when there are so many different streaming services now? Another bad thing is the lack of backlighting. That speaks for itself. Also, the button shapes are ridiculously similar, especially seeing as how the overall form forces closely and uniformly spaced buttons. Without sufficient shape differences, the buttons become almost impossible to determine by feel alone. I find myself having to look at the remote constantly in order to use it. A final gripe I have is the need to activate Macros attached to Activities by using a 3 second delay, and by requiring a 2 second press of the off key in order to shut down all devices. This could all be eliminated with one dedicated Macro launch key for the selected Activity and one dedicated System Off key. With all this said, can this remote be made to work reasonably well? Yes, provided your use case needs only the preprogrammed button sets already in the remote, or if you're careful when setting it up with custom buttons to make as few mistakes and revisions as possible so you don't accumulate old data. Here are my suggestions. 1) Factory reset the remote. Instructions are available at OFAs support website. 2) Plan out and perform any custom button learning you want to do *before* adding codes or doing a code search to load in the premade control sets for your devices. If any of the learned buttons were for devices that you then added in as a premade set, you may have to reteach those buttons. 3) If you're going to create Macros, I strongly suggest if your device has separate on/off keys that you take advantage of them. If it does, then learn only the Power Off key onto the large power key on the remote, and pick some other separate key to teach as Power On. Keep track of these. I used the red Record key as Power On for all my devices. This makes it possible to switch between Macros that use common devices without having to shut everything off first. 4) Get used to the timing for button presses while programming. You may well have to do a factory reset several times while you get the hang of it (I did). I also removed the batteries between resets. It's actually not that bad to get used to the timing. Most of my problem is I have big hands. 5) Test every device after you finish setting it up. 6) Keep in mind the total number of Macro steps is 15, and maybe less if you run out of memory after doing button learns. That's not 15 per Macro, that's 15 for ALL Macros. Final thoughts on this remote: now that Logitech is out of the market, this is one of the only things going for a programmable, macro-capable remote that has lots of buttons. For those who say this is as good as or is a true replacement for a Harmony - no, it most certainly isn't. If this completely replaces a Harmony for you, then you never needed a Harmony in the first place. It also doesn't compare to the Harmony's ergonomics, which are superior in every way.

Have used a LOT of different remotes including Harmony. This remote is pretty good. Bad reviews here talk about setting it up using the bluetooth app and how difficult it is. So I didnt even try. Just followed the manual instructions entering codes and it was super easy. Couldn't see a code on the sheet, wrote to Support, got an answer and a code the next day. I like the shape, the buttons, the weight, etc. I guess the only negative is I would like to see more backlit buttons.

This might be the best thing I’ve ever purchased in my life. I always thought even the concept of a universal remote was stupid. We kept losing the remotes for the Samsung TV and sound bar. I got this remote because of the location feature. The remote is big enough that it might not be possible to lose it. If we do have trouble finding it, it could be seen from space so I’d just ask an astronaut to look out the window of the shuttle and tell me where it is. It has play and pause buttons that work with the VLC app on the TV. This is an all around great product I can’t recommend enough!

I needed a remote to handle 5 devices, TV, Sat box, Roku Ultra, Blu-ray player and AV receiver. Setup took less than 10 minutes total. The activity buttons work as well. My only gripe is that it is not backlit.

GREAT REMOTE. FUNCTIONALITY IS AWESOME. PROGRAMMING IS FAIRLY SIMPLE. ONLY 4 STARS BECAUSE IT'S NOT BACKLIT. I GUESS ONCE I MEMORIZE WHERE CERTAIN BUTTONS ARE IT WON'T BE A PROBLEM. CAN'T BEAT THE AMOUNT OF FUNCTIONALITY FOR THE PRICE THOUGH.

Works as expected. I had to go through the programming process more than on each device - a bit awkward. The AP helped on that. Once it was successfully programmed it’s worked great.

NOT compatible with some Roku devices. I assumed because this connected via Bluetooth app that I could control my 4KRoku stick, but it cannot. The Bluetooth is only for the android/ios app, which is designed to find additional codes and make the remote beep when remote is lost. This remote ONLY controls devices via infrared . If all your devices are infrared then this is the perfect remote. I was surprised to see it not only connect to my TV and Surround Sound, but also my XboxSeriesS and my VCR! Thanks to the app, no matter how obscure something is, if it has infrared this will probably work. I also love the "activity" Feature on the remote which lets you combine the button config of multiple devices at once, so I can adjust my Surroundsound voume without switching away from TV control. The only reason this didn't get 5 starts is because it advertised as working with Roku, but really it only works with select, older Rooku devices (ones with infared.) and NOT new Roku.

Trying to replace four remotes, have tried two or three brands. This one did everything I needed, was quick to set up, surprisingly intuitive. I was worried that I couldn't configure it with software, but it was unnecessary. Very clever design, for example, the mute button is in the center of the up/down volume buttons. Very smart. Software is useless, but doesn't matter.

The product does have the advantage that you can program it using an available app for your phone. This does make programming possible to the specific system that you have. The issue that is something that cannot be fixed is the lack of a backlight. If you're trying to use it in the dark which is not an uncommon situation when you're watching TV at night, you need to turn a light on to be able to see what you're doing.

It's not seamless with the devices, and it takes getting used to. However, it does work. I'd really give this 4.5 stars. We went from 5 remotes to just this. That is a great improvement! However, we had to figure things out regarding what buttons do what on each device.

Next best option for replacing a faulty Logitech Harmony remote since the company no longer makes Harmony remotes unfortunately. This is very easy to use and learning how to use it is a breeze. Works great with all my name brand electronics.
