bought this to replace our 1984 Kenwood receiver that just died, had fun mixing analog with digital and had to find the right way to plug speakers in but mixing the old with new technology sounds awesome

Love the new receiver. Works exactly as intended for the price I paid! Doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles but it runs my TV, PS4, Bookshelf speakers, Center channel, Chromecast, and subwoofer with no problem! Love the built in Bluetooth, it allowed me to get rid of quite a few wires!

Onkyo is the only brand receiver I’ve ever owned. It matches nicely with Klipsch speakers, the only home speakers I’ll ever own. I also listen to a lot of music so I enjoy the big bass sound from the two 12 inch klipsch subs. This stuff is a little pricey but if you keep your eyes open and don’t forget Best Buy will price match. You usually can’t go wrong with the onkyo or the klipsch brands. It’s the only brands I buy. You can’t tear this stuff up. My friends are so impressed I’ll sell them my old stuff just so I have an excuse to get the newer stuff.

This unit was installed by the geek squad, every time I turn the receiver and television on the sound will not come on until I turn the receiver off and back on again. My other receiver takes about 10 seconds before the sound comes on but this one the sound doesn’t come on until I turn it off and then back on.

I love it loud with no distortion. I have been able to do just that. I paired this receiver with 2 Onkyo SKF-4800 2-Way Bass Reflex Floor-standing Speakers and my neighbors just love it. Maybe not. I love the bluetooth and I just discovered Pandora Premium. My pool area is now complete. The HDMI TV works well as does everything else including my dad's old Pioneer turntable. Old school but new technology. Kick it, that is what I do. Thank you and please come again.

I bought this receiver because it has the highest wattage per channel for the money, and has Bluetooth. I do not like that the speaker outputs are a mix of banana and push-pin, This should have been all banana. The push connectors won't take more than 16 AWG wire. I also did not like the F-connector for the FM radio; this won't connect to coax cable without an adaptor that Best Buy doesn't sell. The next receiver step up connects to coax. The cheap connectors are my only regret in this purchase, though the typical setup is one time. The room equalizer auto-setup is another nice feature. Note that you must have an active HDMI input for the HDMI output to work, and this is needed for setup. The manual doesn't tell you this.

Needed a low priced unit to run my home theater in my new covered patio. This unit has plenty of features and was easy to install. I was able to get all 4 surround sound speakers and a subwoofer working great.

We have this outside in a covered area. It serves as the hub for our TV, and outdoor sound system. Love that it has bluetooth, so we can bring in our Alexa or tie in to Sirius XM or Pandora if we don't want to listen to what's on the radio or offered through the cable channels. It has a straight-up speaker setting or you can select the surround-sound option. GREAT if you're watching a movie on a pleasant night or the football game from the comfort of the pool!

I wanted a good receiver to run my older Bose accoustomas 6 speakers with a new smart TV. Pretty easy setup after playing around wiht the connections and TV settings. The sound is great. The price is very reasonable and the volume etc works though the glass cabinet doors of my TV stand. Plan to add a powered sub and was told I can to boost the bass but actually sounds pretty good as is. The microphone setup for analyzing the sound works well too.

My last receiver was a “few” years ago so when I opened the box and saw how easy the setup was I was very happy. I’ve had a Onkyo product since 1993 and I really enjoy the sound and quality of each unit. If you need a good receiver I would recommend this one, it won’t break the bank.

Bought this to replace a old Sony receiver that did not have any HDMI outputs on it, and needed to update my sat equipment. Very happy with it! This thing is solid and very easy setup, has diagram clearly marked on back of unit. Get this you won't be dissapointed

Operating this AV receiver is very simple. Had previously bought a Yamaha AV receiver that took forever to change from DVD to TV to radio listening. The Onkyo is like it used to be, hit the DVD button and watch a DVD, CBL/TV button and watch TV. Sounds great too!

We had a power surge that did in our Yamaha amplifier. The Onkyo was a great replacement. It gives us everything that the Yamaha gave us without the Yamaha price. Since our old amplifier pre dated Bluetooth, the Bluetooth feature is an added bonus.

Nice unit, i like the fact that you can plug and play right out of box, the only thing you need is a mobile device and some decent speakers, it gives you the option of adding extra components to it, i notice alot of the good reviews are from people who only had the the unit for less than a year, but you have to really pay attention to the specs and don’t put the wrong ohm speakers on it for starters, if your looking to really rock it out than you should think about purchasing a high powered amp, and if you just want something for home theater sound and some chill listening with a good sound, again i say put some decent speakers with it and you won’t be disappointed, this is my take on it.....
