[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had the pellet fyra oven before this one. I enjoy the more natural wood burning of real wood and/or charcoal. And I think the 12" size is good enough for me and easy to move/store. I've still only tried it just the once but I was very happy. Thanks ooni!

It's perfect for what I need, can use gas when making multiple pizzas when family and friends visit. Wood when it's just the 3 and not making large amounts

Absolutely love this pizza oven. We bought this for our house in FL. We love to travel with it. Easy to take to other peoples houses, etc. We have a home up North that has a pizza oven we spent a few thousand on and this works SO much better! Wish we had found this one first!!!

After about 6 or 7 seperate pizza cooks last month I think that the Karu 12 is a good starting point for the more serious beginner pizza chefs. I like the simplicity, the design and effectiveness for making napolitan style pizza. Materials used are fine, however some construction aspects could be improved, for instance: not all edges of the metal body plates are sealed to prevent heat or air leakage, and perhaps I expected more heat insulation on the bottom of the body to prevent the cooking stone from losing heat too quickly. Currently it is wintertime here in the Netherlands and still I have no problem attaining cooking temperatures of 500*C, although it takes about 30-40 minutes and plenty coal/wood, depending on the outside air temperature ofcourse. I've learned that in order to maintain optimal cooking temperatures for my oven I need to add coal/wood every 10 minutes and 10 minutes reheating time between each pizza cook to get the stone back to at least 440*C. The stone loses heat after each pizza to about 350*C. I think summer temps will improve things here. Another point worth noting is the fire basket, I'm unsure how long that thing is going to last, but we'll see. All in all I'm making beautiful napolitan pizza's so Im pleased with the Karu 12.

Bought this as a gift for Christmas. It's a great oven to make pizzas. It's trial and error at the beginning. After our first try at it, we don't recommend you using the pizza peel to put the pizza's into the oven, as it will stick to the peel and make a big mess. We recommend using a round turning peel or a wooden peel. The pizzas are done in 2 minutes and taste great. Their customer service is great as well. We did not purchase the gas adaptor, but if someone wants to control the temperature easier you have the option to buy it separately. Overall, it is a great purchase.

The Ooni Karu is so easy to use it has become our default option for cooking when we need to have a quick dinner.

I've needed to replace the firebox cover 2x to date. Now I need a 3rd one. I'm not mistreating this product. The handle appears to be not welded onto the cover. Doubtless if I complain again I'll recieve the standard version of shocked emoji and yet another replacement. I'm just not sure I want one. I only use charcoal and wood - no gas. Trying to cook more than 6 pizzas in a row also fails as the ash builds up and inheeds airflow. Temp then drops and pizza could have been cooked in the oven to the same effect with less effort. I think I might need to recommend avoid this company. Part of me wonders why I bother raising these issues as I am cynical it all change anything.

Greatest build quality easy to use I just need a bit more practise using it

Was easy to set up and use. It took only once to figure out how to manage the wood fire.

Bought this for my hubby's birthday Excellent bit of kit - does take a coupe of goes to master the timing, once mastered you won't eat better pizza We love it
