The picture of this projector is very clear and bright. I can use it with the lights on in a basement room with one full size window and that is with the lamp in Eco mode. The speaker is adequate if you have a quiet room and I am amazed how quiet the fan is. I had it running for a couple hours the other night and never once heard the fan. The menu options are plenty even the fine tuning of the colors to get the best picture. I have used a Roku, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia on it and all look good. There is no noticeable lag while playing Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Tomb Raider, Grid (racing game), or any other games we played. The only time I can see that it's 1080p (by seeing the pixels) is on a sill menu like the Roku home menu I can see some pixels if i look closely, but that's also because the projection is about 7 feet tall. This is a great projector for the money and I would definitely recommend it as a first projector.

it didn't really say it but it's a short throw projector. Awesome image quality and ability to adjust the settings. There is a digital zoom but no optical.

Okay, my cousin had this projector for months now and I was impressed of the short throw feature and HDR capabilities. I bought one for myself and the first unit I got lasted 30 minutes before the bulb overheated and blew. Returned it and got a replacement. My replacement worked okay but would drop signal in a middle of a movie at least once or twice. Not acceptable. Returning mine and going to the upgraded GT1090HDR. However, I know this product can be good since my cousin has no issues on his. HDR is pretty good although the brights and darks can lose some range of visible detail depending on the scene. highlights on HDR can become overblown and all you see is white and then dark areas can get a bit too dark to see any detail. I played God of War on my PS4 and at the beginning where the scene takes me into a dark shed, it got a little too dark that It was uncomfortable to see any details. These moments are rare but for most of the experience, this thing is really beautiful. My daughter loves Bluey in Disney plus and cartoon characters are very vivid on a 110 inch screen. Another gripe is if you switch to HDR and non-HDR content it does some loading and calculations and leaves you looking at a blank screen close to a minute long sometimes. And if you switch from HDR to Non-HDR often, sometimes the projector forgets to decode it making your non-HDR content looking extra washed out. It can be remedied by stepping out of the source input and coming back to it again, or sometimes a full reboot of the system. Getting the unit to support a 5.1 surround system is also tricky as it does not support HDMI ARC or has an optical out. The way I went with it is having all my connections connect to my 5.1 Reciever first and having the Projector as the end of all connections. Aside from my unit losing connectivity at times, all these negatives are little and when this Projector works right, it really excels especially given its price point. Maybe I just got unlucky getting 2 defective units. But I'm not risking a third.

Very good picture quality for a projector. Used it for my theater with a 100ft screen and looked great.

Great Product! Short Throw projector was my dream to setup a home theatre in my study room. Projection is great and I could project 150 inches from a short distance. Overall this is a great buy

Very clear and color accurate picture! Does do 4k content. High refresh 1080p content is very nice as well. Does pump out a ton of hot air. But it does have some false info on its own manufacturers website... there is no zoom feature on this projector and it is a short throw projector so it does have to be pretty close to the wall or screen it's going to be projecting on. 9/10

This projector is AMAZING! I chose the gt1080hdr because of the 3800 Lumens and Short Throw capabilities. I do a lot of business presentations involving various media, and this has SURPASSED my expectations! The projector's BRIGHT mode is PERFECT for business presentations in a WELL LIT environment! 3800 Lumens of horsepower is no joke! No problems what-so-ever in bright meeting rooms! Perfect for meetings or conferences with 50 - 100 people on a 100' or 120' projection screen. At home, if watching the occasional football game or movie, the Optoma gt1080hdr's ECO mode is MORE THAN bright enough, even in a well lit room! The Short Throw is EXCEPTIONAL! I move around a lot around the presentation screen, and getting close enough to NOT be distracted by the projection beam is a BONUS! Currently, I have the projector less than 4' away from the screen! The picture quality if OUTSTANDING! I haven't had the need to touch any of the settings or "fine-tune" the picture. The colors aren't washed out or dull. The picture is RAZOR SHARP! I was already asked if this was a 4k projector! This projector does a WONDERFUL JOB at displaying colors - very bright and true! The High Dynamic Range really comes into play and makes even the average photos look amazing! The 50,000 - 1 contrast ratio really helps displaying black and dark images! The MHL HDMI port comes in handy for hooking up a cellphone or tablet. Giving tutorials for cellphone apps or tablet apps is a BREEZE! This tech is SO HELPFUL! The sound quality is surprisingly good for 10watt speakers! I still feel the need to attach a Sound Bar or surround sound though, especially if you're watching a movie. Just adds to the ambiance and immersion. That being said, the projectors volume is plenty loud. Upon turning on the projector, the fans "wind-up" creating a weird hissing sound. But soon after the lamp warms up, this hissing sound seems to dissipate. I'm assuming this just must be the projector testing the internal controls and fans. Hasn't really been an issue that I'm taking too much notice of. Just a heads up. Only con - I did not receive the supposed included projector bag. I reached out to Optoma and am waiting for a reply. Overall, I am VERY SATISFIED with this purchase! I would HIGHLY recommend the Optoma gt1080HDR to anyone looking to take their business to the next level, or anyone who is looking for a Short Throw home projector. I can't really comment on gaming and using this projector... but if its anything like the quality I've seen thus far, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

I am using it for my golf simulator . I can place it just 6 feet from my 12 by 8 screen. No zoom so placement is important.

Was looking for an entry level short throw projector and online searches led to this one. I didn't want to jump into the expense of a 4k for my first project and after more than a year of use I can say this is well worth the money.

I'm new to home projectors and the Optoma GT1080HDR is awesome. I show the images on my wall and it looks great but if your walls has some imperfections you will see it. I can imagine if I had a projector screen this projector would shine more.

Excellent quality & inbuilt speakers, 4 starts just because of delayed delivery

Ended up returning this projector because I had limited space in my basement and wanted to wall mount it. If you use the enhanced gaming mode you lose your keystone correction, and without the enhanced gaming mode this is just a basic projector. Was able to get the picture perfect when I had it mounted on my table, but I wanted to mount this to my ceiling and could not get it to work.

Really great projector. Using it for an outdoor screen for sports and movies. Great contrast levels at all times of day. Easy to watch football mid-day and family movies at night. Really great short-throw projection and adjustment levels as well. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I use this to project a golf simulator image and it is smooth...not the best picture in full light but my screen has areas that are backlit
