Watch movies on a large screen with this Optoma projector. It delivers a bright, crisp display with 3000 lumens and 1080p resolution, and it has BrilliantColor technology for vibrant hues and tones. This Optoma projector's 15,000-hour lamp life ensures efficient performance, and its 3.5mm audio output lets you connect to external speakers for enhanced sound.
A: Yes, you can connect this model to external speakers and only use external speakers.
A: It will depend on what glasses came in the box? If you have the Optoma ZD302 DLP Link glasses they do not need the 3D emitter, as long as they have a 3D source, 3D content, a 3D rated HDMI cable, and the 3D settings are turned on in the projector and are set for DLP once it starts playing the glasses will pair up with the projector since the DLP technology is built into the unit. However, if your using the other Optoma ZF2300 glasses then you will need the BC300 emitter to plug into the 3D sync port of the HD143X projector, ensure that the 3D is turned on and it is set to VESA and not DLP Link. Then just like the other possibility, the setup is the same and they will pair with the unit once content is being played.
Q: Has anyone tried plugging in a firestick to this projector and does it work?
A: Yes, Not only does the firestick plug directly into the projector and work great but it also has a USB plug in where you can keep your firestick plugged into and on without needing an extra outlet.
A: the HD143X is not going to have a throw ratio you need. in fact most projectors will not. at that distance, you are going to see a really big screen image. Assuming you do not want to mount on the ceiling, more like 9-10 ft which would give you a 50" image? the better option, though more expensive, is manufactures like Optoma and others make short throw or ultra short throw projectors which can be as close as 2-3 feet and do an image as small as you indicated. Short throw projectors tend to cost more.
Q: Can this one be connected to WiFi for easy access to Netflix and ect...
A: No but you can connect a console or fire stick to it so you have those options
Q: can this projector take in and play from a usb thumbdrive? the specs say one usb port.
A: no the HD143X USB port is for power only. normally this company puts those type of 'reader' USB ports on business solutions, this is an all digital Home theater designed model. three possible solutions, though not sure if stocked by Best Buy: LH150 (HT, 1080P), W330UST (ultra short throw type model) and EH465 all have usb 3.0 media readers,
A: let me chime in here. no this projector does not have left and right RCA (which I think you mean) connection for output. But it is still relatively easy, you would need to take the 3.5mm (looks like a headphone jack) audio output on the back, buy a inexpensive mini jack to L&R RCA adapter, than you would be set. run the rca connection from that little adapter to L&R audio in to your stereo receiver and your set. prices the 3.5 to RCA adapter on BBY vary from < $ 10 to about $ 20. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=3.5+mini+jack+to+RCA+adapter&_dyncharset=UTF-8&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys
A: Yes it is. It allows you to widen or shrink the picture to the proper size depending on the distance.
