I've been using this projector for about 6 months now and am really satisfied with this purchase. This is my first experience with a home high end projector and I love it. The picture is clear and bright. It's better to have a ceiling mount for this, as it requires a pretty central location if you're placing it in front of your screen. I have to organize my living around this unit as it's right next to my couch. I use this mostly for gaming, mostly FPS games and the latency on this is really good. I have never felt like there is input lag with this unit and I am really happy with how this works for online gaming. I am just using a wall and it still looks fantastic, everything looks extremely clear and the Dynamic range on this is top notch. It's also super quiet, you can barely hear the fan running while in use. The menu controls are a bit slow, but that's not a big deal. The price is also pretty high, but if you consider the life expectancy of a laser projector, it is well worth the money.

Amazing picture and gaming is top notch. Really enjoy this. Works wonders in hotel rooms. Replace those small tvs.

So far the best projector I’ve owned. I’ve had 2 prior to this one and they can’t be compared

Dont do it.. your chip will go bad ($400 part to just only replace it, not including shipping, or to just have it checked out which is another $150 fee) Now I have a 1/8" inch white dead spot on the screen like others who have left a review just on here, and now lacking clarity.. It's now cheaper just to go buy a 4k T.V as a replacement that has bluetooth and other options..

Thank you for your feedback. We know not everyone's personal experiences are the same; while others might be and others different.
The reality is; your personal experience is true for yourself and we respect that.
We do have two options for people who might be experiencing problems with their projector and desire an RMA:
1. If your projector is within warranty, you may have it repaired or replaced per your warranty (Reference: RMA Procedure: https://www.optomausa.com/service-and-support/rma/opam-rma-procedure, in warranty section )
or
2. If your projector is out of warranty, you may pay for Out of warranty services (Reference: RMA Procedure: https://www.optomausa.com/service-and-support/rma/opam-rma-procedure, Out of warranty section )
There is a prepayment of $110 for the diagnostic fee and shipping (this is inclusive of the labor fee). A repair estimate will be provided to you after your projector is diagnosed by our official authorized repair center. You have the option to pay for the part(s) identified needing repair or decline any of the list if any part you which to decline. The approved repaired parts will carry with it a 90 day repair warranty.
The same analogy is for a car; if the engine or a significant part needs replacement; that significant part might be the most expensive part of the machine. If you take the car to the car repair shop, you expect to pay for services. At that point, you have options of either keeping the older machine for nostalgia or wanting to keep it for a little while longer. If newer machines and parts have improved and cost is now less in the market due to higher production of those newer machines; then you have the option to purchase the newer machines through distribution, newer technology as typically a better long term investment.
Yes, consumer 4K tvs might generally be less expensive out there in the market; but not all machines carry the same features, so you get what you pay for.

Do not purchase this projector unless you get it with extended warranty since optoma only gives 1 year warranty. Exactly 1 year and 1 month after I purchased it started to show a white dot on the screen. The DMD chip is broken. Unfortunately for me I didn't get the extended warranty and because of that 1 month after the warranty expired now they want me to pay up to 700 dollars plus 110 for shipping and other fees. I would've wish that optoma will give some kind of a buffer since it was just a month after but they do not at all. I heard from someone else that even with warranty it will still cost you quite a bit to get it repaired. Apparently Optoma got some issues with DMD chips as I am not the first on with this issue. It was my bad for not getting the extended warranty but didn not expect that just 1 month after it expired it was gonna break. Stay away from this projector or from optoma in general. 400 dollar 3 year old projector still working no issues and this optoma that cost over 1k broken just after a year.

I replaced an LED projector by Optoma with this Laser one. The picture quality is slightly better but the brightness is significantly better even on eco-mode. The SW is still subpar and not easy to navigate. I'm also still struggling to find the setting with the truest colors, especially for people in live events (like close up shots on players/coaches) where their skin tones just don't look right. I think its possible but they could really give a lot more direction on how to use this. NO manual, nothing helpful. I would still recommend it over LED as our lamp died in about 4 years but it exploded and destroyed the old one and molten glass landed on my head. I'm figuring the laser won't have that same issue. At least, I hope so.

Love this projector. Very clear and crisp picture, projects on elite 120 screen. Better than color wheel and bulb projector. Pretty quite, syncs with my logitec remote, Denon amp and Sony blue ray player. The noise level is very low compared to bulb projector that i had owned by the same manufacturer. Plays 3D movies, watch live TV, comes with two HDMI Input and external trigger. I love the signal power feature which was very helpful before i added logitec Harmony 665 remote. Very happy with the purchase.

This is a great projector. It is very quiet and very bright. These qualities are very important for me since it is used for meeting presentations in large and well lit rooms. The projector recognized the laptop immediately and there is no time lost getting it up and running. All of these projector brands employ the same flimsy plastic cases making transportation between meetings a bit worrisome. This device does seem heavier than the comparable price point Epsom and has better specs.

I have a Panasonic LCD projector 13 years old and decided to upgrade. I was going down the 4K path but after thinking about the material I watch decided it would not be worth it. I watch 1080i and 1080p concerts and movies. This projector is bright. Even though I have a light controlled room I can watch in daylight. Picture and colors are stunning and it is very quiet. It was a bit tricky to install since it does not have a great lens shift capablity but after it was hung and turned on Wow! So bottom line.....if you do not have a source of HDR or 4K material save your money and go this route. It has a laser so no bulbs to change!

The image quality is AWESOME! Super bright! Watching videos and movies is a treat! Love that you don't have to wait for a bulb to warm up!

Absolutely love this projector. The picture is superb. We have it hooked to an Apple TV 4K and it works perfectly in 4K hdr or 1080.

Great picture. Much brighter than our other non-laser projectors.

Loved this projector. Only reason we were not able to use it was the throw distance for our previous ceiling mounted projector was 2 feet difference and we did not want to have to move the ceiling mounting. Will we just have to get another projector with correct throw for our mount.

Great picture even with the lights on. This unit makes PC gaming a lot of fun with such a large screen! Also, no worries of your bulb running out anytime soon

Basically a perfect home theater projector. The lasers used make this seem so much brighter than its rated for.
