About this product

Nicola Sani does not sterilize art music in a smug, celibate stylistic game with the risk of marginalizing it, in the context of global reception, as an expression of a wealthy minority of the western white bourgeoisie. He outlines a possible contemporary humanism, in which the creative relationship with technology proves to be necessary and fertile, not submissive or idolatrous. It invites you to remember that, in the history of music, the highest moments came when the creators climbed the crest of the wave of the contemporary thought, confronting it, whether it expressed utopias or crisis, despair or hope. Finally, the compositions collected in this CD invite you to rethink and remodel the listening spaces. This music crosses over, goes beyond mere confines. Composers, performers and institutions cannot escape this challenge again, as if it were not their problem. It is, and Tempus fugit. Album Tracks 1. Seascapes IX, Münster Per Orchestra 2. Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto - Mendelssohn: Concerto per violino e orchestra in mi minore, Op. - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This CD offers a beautiful live performance of the Concerto for violin and orchestra op. 64 from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy with the Italian violinist Christian Joseph Saccon and the prestigious Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by Maffeo Scarpis. Saccon trained at the great Venetian school of Luigi Ferro, then continued his studies by attending masterclasses with the most important European masters Tibor Varga, Corrado Romano, Franco Gulli, Uto Ughi and Giuliano Carmignola. He plays a Marino Capicchioni violin from 1942 that belonged to Maestro Salvatore Accardo. It was the famous violinist Ferdinand David who commissioned the Concerto for violin and orchestra op. 64 from Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The first performance took place at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig on 13 March 1845 with David as soloist. The performance was conducted by the Danish composer Niels Gade as Mendelssohn was in poor health at the time. The concerto, performed again in October of that year, with David as soloist under the baton of Mendelssohn himself, was a resounding success. Since then, the concerto has become a staple in concert programmes. In June 1846, the concerto was performed at the Philharmonic Society in London. Mendelssohn personally selected the Genoese violinist Camillo Sivori, a pupil of Paganini, as soloist. On 3 October 1847, it was performed by a young protege of Mendelssohn, the young Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim, who would go on to become a favourite collaborator of Brahms. The concerto is an elegant and skilfully crafted composition, where brilliance and buoyancy conceal the work's constructive genius. The Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by Maffeo Scarpis interprets also the Symphony n.4 InchItalianaInch op.90 by Mendelssohn with fresh vigor in a brilliant live performance. It is surely one of the most celebrated compositions by Mendelssohn. The CD is comp

Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto - Parole Da Beckett - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The first piece by Manzoni that that I have listened to was Quadruplum, for four trumpets and four trombones followed, again on vinyl, by the memorable Masse. Only much later I had the opportunity to conduct some of his orchestral works, always with voice, such as Kokin b and Allen. For it's ninetieth birthday, the choice fell on two works by Anglo-Saxon authors Dieci versi di Emily Dickinson and Parole da Beckett. The first work can be defined as a metaphor about the silence of the speech, on the vertigo of a poetic and inner world that the composer renders in extremely visionary terms. The musical horizon traced by the strings and the two harps is indeed at the same time dissociated and convergent a string quartet and it's double, a small string orchestra (ten like the verses of the poetess), are separated on the scene by a veiled diaphragm which also ideally delimits the mental and perceptive space of the composition... The Parole da Beckett score, composed by Manzoni in 1971, contains very detailed performance instructions for both the choruses and the instrumental groups; nevertheless, this study demonstrates how the aleatory sections and the presence of hidden, completely inaudible texts (shown only in the separate parts for the two choruses) leave considerable room for choice and alternative readings on the part of the performer. In fact, the apparently paradoxical tendency of the European avantgarde at the time, was on one hand to strive for an ideological liberation from the constraints of music notation, leaving the outcome of the work itself in the hands of the performer (co-author), while at the same time to provide the score with a series of such detailed instructions that it virtually became a system of ineluctable gestures and actions (thereby reducing the work simply to a series of it's own performance directions). Album Tracks 1. 1. 10 Versi D

Tempesta di Mare - Orchestral Works 3 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Fasch Orchestral Works, Vol. 3 is the third and concluding volume in Tempesta di Mare's series of orchestral works by Johann Friedrich Fasch, a contemporary of J.S. Bach and Telemann. In his day, the works of Fasch (cantatas, concertos, symphonies, and chamber music) were performed extensively across the German-speaking world. J.S. Bach, who arranged at least one of his trio sonatas for organ, held Fasch in great esteem. Tempesta di Mare, Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra, performs the music on baroque instruments with 'zest and virtuosity that transcends style and instrumentation'. Album Tracks 1. Concerto in D Major, FWV L D8 2. Ouverture in D Major, FWV K - D2 3. Konzertsatz in F Major, FWV L - F4 4. Concerto in F Major, FWV L - Deest 5. Concerto in D minor, FWV L - D1 6. Ouverture in F Major, FWV K - F1
