One of the original exponents of the true InchMiami Sound,Inch Orquesta Suprema was a well oiled twelve piece Cuban salsa orchestra - extremely popular in the early to mid 1970's in the Miami area. Their brand of Salsa fueled by Afro-Cuban rhythms proved contagious, and when Suprema played a dance, they drew thousands of people with little or no advertising. Their rare vinyl albums are now highly prized by Cuban music enthusiasts and remain hard to find collector's items. Orquesta Sublime was founded in Cuba in 1956 by flautist Melquiades Fundora as a Charanga orchestra and has survived in the hearts of Cuban music fans as one of the very best practitioners of the style. Their wonderfully pure, organic recordings have been prized by collectors of Cuban music all over the world. Orquesta Reve has held a long and important role in the history of contemporary Cuban music. Founded in 1956 by Elio Reve Matos, the Cuban percussionist known as the father of InchchanguiInch - a style of music that incorporates Spanish style guitar and vocals with Afro-Cuban rhythms originated in the eastern region of Guantanamo province. Changui is considered the forerunner of Inchson montuno,Inch the most popular form of Cuban music performed today. Orquesta Reve modernized this sound by adding certain elements of the Charanga style orchestra, bringing violins and trombones into the mix.
