It looks exactly as the advertisement. It arrived without a scratch. The chair is a classic, It is FURNITURE, made of solid heavy wood, it is very nice. Once I got the hardware sorted and organized, the assembly was simple, there are only 5 steps of instruction. The casters and wood screw covers required a little oil for placement. The allen wrench tighten the sections of the chair to a perfect fit, the lift does what it claims, I have not tried the tilt. For anyone that like the vintage or antique look this chair is a great buy.

This is a beautiful, solid, and comfortable chair. I am extremely happy with it, but it is a bit challenging to assemble, which is why it isn't five stars. The pieces are well made, and the seat and back fit together very well with the holes lining up perfectly, but the arms are thinner and had warped somewhat so that they no longer lined up. This required some real pressure to bend them enough to get the screws into their matching holes and then alternately tightening each one to gently bend the arms into place. Not a big deal if you are used to working with wood, but someone who isn't could think their chair was defective. The biggest challenge however was getting the castors into the base. They were so tight that I actually had to grease them then use a hammer and block to pound them in. The end result is worth the effort though, and as long as you know up front that you might have to work a little harder getting it together you should be pleased with it. I have a decorative memory foam cushion designed for dining chairs on it and find it to be quite comfortable with the arms at a good hight.
