After my husband got his Samsung ring over a year ago, I had been really curious about the best iOS alternative. After doing a bunch of research, the Oura ring emerged as the most accurate ring on the market. I also use an Apple Watch for health monitoring, but it is so delightful to be able to take the watch off at night! Mostly, I love the Oura ring. It’s comfortable, lightweight, non-obtrusive, and seems to do the job. The battery life is great! I typically charge it while I shower, so I never see a dead battery. The sleep tracking is highly sensitive, much more than the Apple Watch, so it records all my little wake-up's throughout the night. The cons of this ring are minimal but worth mentioning. I’m not sure how durable the ring itself is. I’ve had it for almost two months and it is definitely scratched up. It’s not as though I’m wearing it while performing hard manual labor. I just do every day chores and this has led to scuffs and scratches. I also wish the charger was wireless (like an iPod case) where you could throw the ring in it and take the whole thing with you and it would charge. The app needs its own review, but since it is required to access the data from the ring, I will do that here as well. The app is crucial to the use of the ring, and it costs money to use. I don’t love that. However, I do love all the app tells me, so it is worth it for me. The app seems much more in tune with me than Apple Health, even though they share data. A few days after getting the ring, I got a cold. The app knew before I did that I was getting sick. I was able to take precautions to not only not spread my cold to others, but to also turn up the self-care so that the symptoms were not too bad. I also really appreciate the chronotype feature that helps you determine your optimal sleep schedule. It calibrated mine fairly quickly and it matches what I had always felt was best for me. It even dynamically sets a “move” goal each day based on your sleep score from the previous night, intuitively knowing if you feel run down and need an easy day or if you feel energized and ready to climb mountains. The app is a treasure trove of data and informative reports. My biggest gripe about the app, aside from the required subscription, is the sleep tracking feature. Like most people, I climb into bed and then spend some time on my phone. I am not actively trying to sleep, but the ring will interpret that as being unable to fall asleep, which can lower your sleep score. I wish that there was a way to let the ring know when you actually put the phone away, turn off the light, and start to go to sleep. Ultimately the whole product is a little expensive, but the data it provides is incredibly insightful and helpful. If you’re in the market for a smart ring, which you probably are if you’re reading this, I recommend giving the Oura ring a try.

I have really enjoyed this compared to a watch & find it much easier for my ADHD self to remember to charge. I have sensory sensitivities and have been much more consistent wearing the ring than a activity watch (apple/garmin/etc.). I got the black and enjoy it. The ring feels light and is sturdy. I’ve hit it on a few things and dropped it and no scratches thus far or damage.

Battery life has been solid, though not quite what the specs promise. With Bluetooth and location always on, I consistently get about 4 to 6 days on a charge. It’s not a dealbreaker, but just know it’s more like twice-a-week charging than once. What’s really impressed me is the durability. I wear it during workouts, sleep, and even while doing yard work, and it’s held up incredibly well. After a full year, the ring only has a few faint hairline scratches — nothing you’d notice unless you’re looking closely. The stealth finish still looks clean and low-key. The biggest improvement, though, is the sensor accuracy. Sleep tracking feels noticeably smarter and more in tune with how I actually feel in the morning. Activity tracking is also much more consistent — heart rate, steps, and readiness scores all line up well with other wearables I’ve tested. I truly love it… There’s so many positives about it and not many negatives that I can think of. The app is great. It is flawless and seamless and works very well. Lots of biometrics and information shown about your health and it really goes in depth. Battery life is great. It can last about a week so far. The fit is great. I thought it might be too bulky and heavy, but it’s not at all. It is lightweight and so pretty looks great on the pointer finger or middle finger. Best Buy shipped it fast and I really appreciate them shipping the sizing kit and then reimbursing me the $10 for the kit to go towards the ring. If you’ve been on the fence about it, buy it! FYI I have a protective sleeve on in the photo below, just to be careful of scratches and wear and tear.

I’ve had other versions of the oura ring in the past and this one is the best one yet. It’s very accurate and super stylish. It’s very good at keeping track of my exercise and sleep. My favorite feature is the symptoms radar where it predicts the possibility of me getting sick so I can take extra vitamins and prevent me from having a worse illness. I 100% recommend this product. Keep in mind the stealth color scratches easily but if you’re careful enough it looks really sleek.

Wow! The useful data on this smart ring is amazing. I have been trying to figure out what is going on with my poor sleep and data has been useful in analyzing what is going on. App is great to help summarize info. I love the fact that you can have this on for 7 days before it needs to be recharged. I got the black oura ring and I love it! So far so great! Has shown me how certain events are stressing me out to high levels and others are relaxing me. Still a little too early to see cycle results however I'm hopeful. So glad I made this investment I forget that it's even on and I'm able to see how well I've been sleeping and what I need to improve for sleep! Glad I went with the 8 because even with some swelling from running around or sleeping it's big but not too snug and a 9 would have been too loose on my middle finger and too tight on my index finger. Battery life is great honestly has lasted me a long time I love that I don't have to charge it everyday!

My husband and I both have one. The black looks great and doesn't show any sign of wear for my husband. I have the silver and it's pretty scuffed up. If you have an HSA and have extra funds I would do it after having mine for a month my husband decided to get one too. The information itself is wonderful I had a horrible fever/flu and it detected it. I use it for ovulation tracking, stress monitoring, and sleep tracking all of which it is great at. Auto activity tracking could use some work but you can manually add in a workout. However: My husband's started to have some connectivity issues and he would have to uninstall reinstall the app a few times than then it would no longer charge at not even 3 months. We had to contact Oura to get it replaced. The AI chat bot it made us use was useless it said there was an issue detected with the ring and said it submitted a ticket but didn't get a confirmation and after waiting a couple days we had to reach out ourselves to get the issue resolved. Once we submitted proof of purchase they were quick to resolve the issue and sent him a new ring.
