I’ve been genuinely impressed with these Ozlo earbuds. The sound signature is confident and well-balanced—clear vocals, detailed mids, and a low end that’s present without drowning everything else out. They’re comfortable enough for long sessions, and the fit feels secure without that “pressure” sensation some earbuds create. Connectivity has been stable, and the overall experience feels polished, intentional, and premium. If you want everyday earbuds that sound refined and simply work, these are an easy recommendation.

Pros: Nice sound quality Small, easy to fit in your ears, and they don’t fall out Great battery life Earbuds fit easily in the case, and are easy to place even in the dark Decent app Large selection of sounds Sounds are downloaded to plenty of memory in earbuds allowing operation without the case Helps you stop snoring (for whatever reason) Cons: Finicky to get it paired and connected Too many required steps and conditions to do anything with them Battery charge indicators hidden when case is closed Most sounds sound like white noise It takes too long to download the sounds to the earbuds and can’t use or wear them while downloading Snooze button does not work Build Quality: The earbuds feel high quality and well made, although the case feels a little less durable and flimsy. The earbuds fit in the case using a magnet and fit well, so well that they can be placed in the case in a completely dark room without a problem. Battery: The earbuds have excellent battery life. At 50% volume, I can get around 10.5 hours of use, plenty for a full night’s sleep. The case can charge the earbuds around three times, and it takes around an hour to fully charge the case and earbuds together. The batteries are probably the most impressive part of the system. Fit: The earbuds fit well in the ears although I do find them hard to get in initially. I’m able to get them in and stay in but not how they recommend in the directions. It’s kind of an annoying experience but that may just be me. They are small enough to allow you to sleep on your side without pain or them falling out. They come with different size tips, but my experience has been the same with all of them. The fit is snug and completely blocks most but the loudest sounds. Sounds: There are a few dozen sounds to select from of all different types, but I have found that most of them sound like variations of white noise. There are a few that don’t and those are ones I use. My favorites are jungle and ocean. I wish that thunderstorms sounded good, but that is one of the once that sound just like white noise. In general, they have good sound quality for what they are supposed to be used for. The sounds are selected from the app which allows you to preview the sounds before selecting them. Once selected, you can download them to the earbuds themselves. Unfortunately, they must be placed in the case to download them which means you can’t use them or even have them placed in your ears. That also means you can’t really download sounds while you are in bed. It also takes around 10 minutes to download each sound which is way too long. All this means is you really need to plan ahead when you want to use a different sound. Lucky, there is enough memory in the earbuds to download plenty sounds. Case: The case seems a little flimsy but gets the job done and the earbuds have a good fit in it. While the earbuds can play the currently selected sound without the case, you need the case to do things like change the sound, change the volume, download new sounds, and charge the earbuds. The case has a system where when you open it, it boots up the firmware in the case and connects to your phone. When you close it, it turns off the case. If you want to do anything that requires the app, the case must be opened and connected to your phone. The case charges via usb-c port. There are indicators that tell you that the case and earbuds are charging, but the case must be open to see them. It would be nice if they were visible all the time. Earbuds: They fit well in your ears although it is hard to initially get in based on the directions. They fit well when sleeping on your side and stay put. The connection between them and the case is reliable. They block out almost all sounds when the earbuds are worn, but playing sounds blocks out all outside noise, including talking. There are no buttons on the earbuds so you must use the app and case to do almost everything. Connections: Bluetooth connection to your phone is where things start to fall apart. Connection to the case is required for the phone to communicate to the earbuds. The connection between the case and the earbuds is reliable, but the connection from the phone to the case is not. I installed the app and followed the steps to connect the phone to the case, but it just would not connect. I tried several times until it finally worked. When you start the app, you must make sure the case is open and booted up before the phone can connect to it. This connection was extremely unreliable. I did get a new phone a couple of days after getting this to work. Again, it was painful to get the new phone paired with the case, only this time it seemed worse. I tried several times to get it to pair, and it was only after installing the app a couple of times that I could get it to work. I updated the firmware, and it seemed to make the connection from the app to the case a lot more reliable. Every time you open the app, or open the case, you must make this connection again which does take a few seconds, time that is noticeable. One more thing to keep in mind is that the phone connects to the case via Bluetooth and the case connects to the earbuds via Bluetooth LE. There is no direct connection from the phone to the earbuds. If any of these connections don’t work reliably, everything falls apart. Alarm: There is an alarm that you can set through the app. It will play piano sounds when the alarm goes off, and loud. They claim it is a gentle alarm, but it is not. The piano sounds just play at full volume as soon as the alarm goes off (again not gentle). Supposedly you can change the alarm sounds but I haven’t found a way yet. And here is the biggest flaw of the whole thing. There is no way to easily snooze the alarm. You are supposed to tap the case to snooze the alarm but no matter how many times I tried it, it did not work. The only way I was able to figure out how to snooze the alarm was to pick up my phone, unlock it, and click the snooze button. Those steps are the last thing I want to do when I want to snooze the alarm. Lucky the app is open, and you don’t have to open and connect it as well. This is the biggest bummer, except that I now get out of bed right away without snoozing which may be for the best. Snoring: My wife claims that I snore way less when wearing these, and she won’t let me in bed without them. That is something I can’t explain. Finally: Overall, these are worth the investment, even at the high price, especially if you like to hear sounds like nature and water when you are trying to fall asleep. When they work, they work well, but there are sometimes too many steps and conditions to do anything, such as sometimes having the case open, or closed and sometimes having the earbuds docked, or not. You do have to have a lot of patience with them, so keep that in mind. You also must update the firmware to fix a lot of reliability issues. This is mandatory. They will play your default sound when you just put them in your ears, but doing anything else beyond that requires the case and app which can be finicky. There are plenty of sounds but only a few makes sense. You also must use the app to do almost everything. You must use the sounds as just putting them in your ears to block out outside noise with no sounds, while works ok, does not make sense. Finally, I really wish the snooze button on the case worked.

Before you use, update the software. My rating is based on my first experiences using these prior to the update. And even a week later I’m still not sure these are ready for prime time without some major (to me) tweaks. The design of the buds and case are beautifully done. The buds are comfortable and come with multiple size ear tips which is great. They are tiny and so they fit and are nestled perfectly within the ear. I didn’t experience ear fatigue. The sliding feature of the case is very nice and smooth. Even my 8 yr old commented on how beautiful the color was and how cool they are to open. But for me that’s where the joy stopped. First use: the connection was extremely spotty even though the case and phone was practically glued to me. The sound would pick up microseconds faster in one bud from the next, which was confusing. It performed that way for both the native sleep sounds and other media. As far as its connectivity, it worked well for its native included sounds but if listening to anything outside of the Ozlo app it was a pain. It would constantly disconnect and I would have to remove the buds place them back into the case, close case and reopen to have them reconnect again. Try doing that multiple times in the span of 10 minutes. You get to the point where you’re over it quickly. After update: The update stated it was fixing connectivity issues. The sound greatly improved. The connectivity to videos and sounds outside of the Ozlo app was much more improved. Tolerable and worked as it should’ve from when I removed them from its packaging. Fewer disconnects. In fact, I don’t think it disconnected after the update. Yes, I understand that these are for sleeping, however, you are able to use them to listen to other media outside of the Ozlo sleeping sounds. Unlike other buds you have to restart them while in their case for everything. If you have them out and want to turn them on, you have to reset them which means placing them back into their case, closing it and opening it again. But once they connect and even if you place them into their case until you need them they are still connected to your device, which means that you’ll start watching or trying to listen to other media and begin to wonder why you can’t hear it. The buds do not auto disconnect once placed back into case. You’ll hear the buds playing the media while in the case, even when you don’t want them to. So you’ll have to manually disconnect from device Bluetooth, which is quite annoying. Also, it’s not as simple as opening up the case and the buds work (auto connect) because you have to go into the Ozlo app to connect them every darn time, which is also annoying. Once we do initial setup we should be able to open case, place in ear and it connects and once we remove them and place back into case they should disconnect. So the app…Well you can’t do much inside of the app unless you connect the buds first. Other than that you can look through the sleep sounds that they offer without them being connected. But you can’t download new sounds to the app if buds aren’t connected…again a bit annoying. I don’t see why the buds need to be connected to download sounds directly or locally to the app, when the sounds aren’t stored in the buds. The buds are supposed to be able to give you sleep data but that isn’t available yet and it states “coming soon”. They also are beta testing the buds sensing when you fall asleep so it switches from whatever media you may be listening to or if you aren’t listening to anything it is supposed to switch to your preselected sleep sounds automatically. I did select that option to test it, but I’m really unsure if it worked. So I’ll say that they haven’t perfected that as yet. Again it’s in beta. The app offers the option to set an alarm but if you have the volume set low in the app, the alarm goes off at the same level, which I understand, I wouldn’t want sounds blaring in my ear to cause damage but it didn’t wake me up at all. I will say that I like the alarm sounds. The alarm sounds are not jarring like what options you may have on your phone. They are cute gentle sounds that keep you blissfully asleep. The buds have no controls, so everything must be done locally in the app. You also can’t adjust the volume outside of the app. Which is good and another way to protect your hearing incase you fall asleep. The buds can’t be too far from the case and the case can’t be too far from your phone. The moment you step one foot past the range it becomes staticky and begins losing connection, so stay close folks. Don’t get up for a glass of water in the middle of the night or else you’ll have to reconnect. Granted, I’m still trying to get comfortable sleeping the whole night through with them in my ear. I would find myself waking in the middle of the night to remove them. Not because they were uncomfortable. They are very comfortable in my ear. I believe I was just aware that something was in my ear and even in sleep I subconsciously would be aware and nervous about my hearing even though I never had the volume above 20. So, I’m also a work in progress in being 100% comfortable going all night with sounds. My initial experience wasn’t the best and because many of the features are still in beta or coming soon, I wouldn’t be able to recommend to a friend. I really appreciate the update as it did fix my initial gripes and I fully expect that as the updates continue to improve the experience I would then be able to tell everyone to get a pair. As of today, not so much.

I’ve always been a light sleeper, even the dog moving around wakes me up at night. Not to mention all the noise or a neighbor having a party a couple of houses over. I always have a pair of safety earplugs next to the bed, those neon orange ones that are super soft, just in case I wake up in the middle of night and cannot fall back to bed for one reason or another. I was considering a white noise machine, but wanted something a bit easier to carry with and wouldn’t disrupt anyone else. That’s when I saw the Ozlo Sleepbuds, which not only streamed audio but provided background noise. So, I got a pair to try. Pros: - Very comfy earbuds. - Sounds are relaxing and customizable. - Multiple Eartips for perfect fit. Cons: - Connecting and updates takes a bit. - Comfort in ear will depend on your pillow and position while sleeping. Setup: The setup was simple; download the app, then pair to the case and then to the earbuds. You have to pair to the case to setup, but after that unless you’re going to stream audio from your phone or update the sounds, you don’t need to connect your phone to the buds each time. The initial setup will walk you through the first time to select your preferred background sound and set the few options available for how it triggers and your morning alarm. It’s very simple and takes only about 5 minutes after all the updates. Connecting: I usually watch a show or listen to something before falling to sleep so I’ve been connecting my phone each night before going to bed. I did notice that it usually took 45 seconds to a minute for my phone to connect to the earbuds each night, which is much longer than normal earbuds. I assume this has to do with the connecting to the case, then earbuds but I always catch myself wondering if something is going wrong waiting for the earbuds to connect. You’ll see a reminder multiple times to keep your phone 30ft from your smart case and your earbuds 10ft from the smart case, because of the tethering between phone to case to ear buds the distance is much shorter than most earbuds. This isn’t much of an issue unless you are getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom or go check on another room. I’ve lost connection a few times, but each time, the earbuds reconnect as soon as I get back into range with the case. Software: The Ozlo app is easy to use. Ozlo has been updating the app regularly, I’ve already seen an update come through that included more sounds and a soon to come feature to help you track your sleep. I found that I’m using the app regularly as I get used to the earbuds to adjust the sound and volume of the sleep noises. I also check out the new options that are available. The main page of the app provides you with all the controls to check battery life, current sleep sound, and volume right at the top. Below are the settings selected during initial setup, that can be adjusted anytime like Alarm, Sleep Timer, Auto-Play Sleep Sound (enable this!). The Auto-Play Sleep Sound is a great feature that automatically switches over from streaming your phone audio to the Sleep Sound once it detects that you’ve fallen to sleep. I’ve found it works well, usually triggering right after I start to drift off to sleep, which helps when I forget to stop what I was playing before I fall asleep. Fit & Feel: The earbuds are very comfortable, the silicone tips/wings make the Ozlo SleepBuds some of the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever had. 4 sizes are included, 1 on the earbuds and 3 in the box to ensure you get the best fit possible. I did find the default tip was a bit too small, which let in additional noise while sleeping and allowed the buds to shift out of my ear the first night. But with the larger tip, I’ve not had any issues with the earbuds falling out. You can barely feel these in your ear in the beginning of the night. The only issue with feel I had was the next morning, as I usually sleep on a firmer memory foam pillow, which depending on how I lay my ear ends up as the main point of contact with the pillow. Which unfortunately pushed the earbud against the side of my inner ear, causing discomfort after long periods. When I woke up in the morning I had a sore ear, along with an indent in my ear. If you’re a back sleeper or using a softer pillow, you won’t even notice. But if you are using a firmer pillow, you might need to shift or switch pillows. I ended up switching to another pillow with a shape to it, where my neck and head get better support, and my ear isn’t the main point of contact. That solved the discomfort! Sleep quality: I did find the Ozlo Sleepbuds helped improve my sleep mainly by reducing the number of times per night that I would wake up due to a noise, though I would put them on the same level as my old safety earplugs there. They were much more comfortable than the earplugs, which block-out almost all sound and put pressure on my eardrum and inner ear. I can only wear the earplugs a few nights in a row before I need to not wear them, that was not the case with the Ozlo Sleepbuds after I swapped out my pillow. I look forward to the future feature that tracks your sleep, as I use my watch right now which is good, but I would like to have another measure of sleep quality to compare it to and see if there are any different suggestions besides “sleep more”. Alarm: The alarm is also a big part of the benefit of the Ozlo Sleepbuds, as it can be an issue when sleeping with earplugs to hear your alarm unless you have it blasting or shaking your bed. I’ve missed my alarm more than once because of having earplugs in. The Ozlo alarm comes with different sounds and nicely alerts you that it is time to wake up, though if you need one that shocks you awake there is a “Wake Up!” alarm sound that is reminiscent of the old alarm clocks. Sound Options: I found the different sleep sounds to be very calming, I mainly used the Fireglow and Soar as both gave me a warm but calming sound. There are a lot of options to pick from and Ozlo is adding more. I liked the consistency of all the sounds, being pleasant and constant background noises. I was going to suggest that they include some kind of city or road sound, but then with the last update I saw they had added an Interstate and All Aboard soundscape that mimics a highway and train. I was thinking these would be very helpful for anyone who lived in a city or populated area, when going on a trip to somewhere much quieter like camping in the woods or a lake house. As the transition from noisy night life to quiet night can be a shocker for many, so having the familiar background would allow them to sleep better. Conclusion: I really like the Ozlo Sleepbuds, as I’ve used earplugs for years to help manage my sleep due to how easily I wake up from any sudden noise. The earbuds are very comfortable and can be adjusted to fit almost any ear snuggly. Plus, with the variety of calming sounds, you’ll be able to find one that soothes you to sleep and helps keep you asleep. Just beware if you’re a side sleeper using a firm memory foam pillow, you might want to swap out your pillow or adjust how you lay on it. I’ll be adding the Ozlo Sleepbuds to my recommendations for anyone who is a light sleeper that wants a better way to sleep and wake up.

Bottom Line: These earbuds are a paradox. For a staggering $350, you get some of the worst Bluetooth performance I've seen in years. However, you also get incredible comfort, fantastic sound quality, and a truly transformative sleep experience. If you are a desperate light sleeper like me, the pros might just outweigh the frustrating cons. Pros: • Exceptional passive noise isolation blocks out most disturbances. • Extremely comfortable and small, making them suitable for side-sleepers. • Surprisingly fantastic audio quality for listening to music. • Long earbud battery life (lasts the whole night). • Premium look and feel of the case and earbuds. • Genuinely and measurably improved my sleep quality. Cons: • Bluetooth connection is unreliable and frustratingly slow. • Transferring new sounds to the earbuds takes an eternity (10-20 minutes per sound). • Very expensive for a limited feature set (no ANC, no multi-point). • Charging case is bulky and not designed for travel. • The built-in "soundscapes" are repetitive and low quality. • Can cause some minor ear soreness by morning. Bluetooth Performance (3/10): Let's get this out of the way: the Bluetooth connection is horrendous. It feels like first-generation technology. The earbuds connect to the case, which then connects to your phone, creating a weak and finicky link. Constant Issues: Nearly every night, I have to put the buds back in the case and reopen it to force them to connect properly. Painfully Slow Transfers: Adding a new soundscape is done over this slow connection and takes 10-20 minutes PER sound. In 2025, a $350 device should have Wi-Fi for this. It's unacceptable. The Case (7.5/10): The case is a premium, hefty puck made of a metal alloy. It feels substantial and looks great on a nightstand, which is where it's meant to live—it is far too large to be considered portable. The sliding mechanism is neat, and magnets snap the earbuds securely into place for charging. It provides 2-3 full nights of charge before needing to be plugged in via USB-C. Earbuds & Noise Isolation (9/10): The earbuds themselves are the stars. They are tiny and feature incredibly soft silicone tips, making them more comfortable than any other earbud I've tried for sleeping. They achieve their silence through excellent passive noise isolation, meaning they create a physical seal in your ear. This works incredibly well to block out sounds like roommates walking around. (Note: Because they seal your ear, be cautious about moisture after a shower to avoid potential ear infections). They smartly do NOT have Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). With ANC, microphones would pick up every rustle against your pillow, likely causing screeching or other audio artifacts. Opting for a great physical seal was the right engineering choice. Sound Quality (9/10): Here, it's a tale of two experiences. Music: I was shocked at how good music sounds. The bass, mids, and treble are all well-balanced, creating a rich and enjoyable listening experience before bed. Built-in Sounds: The pre-loaded "soundscapes" are a letdown. They sound like short, obvious loops, and the stock sounds on my phone are of higher quality. For the price, I expected much more variety and higher-fidelity background noises. Battery Life (7.5/10): The earbuds deliver on their 10-hour promise. I sleep for 7-9 hours, and they are always still playing when I wake up. The case provides about 3-4 nights of use before it needs a recharge, which takes a slow 2-3 hours. It's adequate for home use but would require planning for a trip longer than a weekend. Conclusion: Who Is This For? I desperately wanted to love these without reservation. As a light sleeper, my sleep quality has been chronically poor. With these, I am no longer woken up by small noises. My smartwatch shows my "time awake" during the night has dropped by roughly 75%. I feel more rested and have more energy during the day. And that is the ultimate selling point. What would you pay for a better night's sleep? Despite the infuriating Bluetooth issues, the difficulty in transferring sounds, and the high price, the core function works so well that it's almost worth it. If you are a light sleeper at your wit's end—and you have the budget and the patience to wrestle with the technology—these could honestly change your life. However, if you expect a seamless, modern tech experience for your $350, look elsewhere. I'm torn, but for now, the benefits of better sleep are keeping them on my nightstand.

One of the most important things for maintaining good health is sleep, although sometimes it is not always possible to fall asleep and sleep for long periods of time without interruption. Outside noise or even noise generated at home can be an impediment to a good night's sleep. The Ozlo SleepBuds device is a tool that helps prevent this from being an impediment to peaceful sleep, isolating sound and providing comfort while sleeping. The box contains the Ozlo Sleepbuds, 4 pairs of ear tips, a charging station, a charging cable, and a user manual. To connect them, you must charge the case with the earbuds inside, download the app, and follow the instructions. After that, you must update the device's firmware, and they will be ready to use. In terms of design, the case is practical and easy to use, the sleepbuds fit perfectly, and it has magnets that prevent them from moving out of place and allow them to charge without any problems. The sleepbuds are lightweight, compact, and very comfortable. When inserting them into your ear, you have to twist them a little so that they fit completely. It feels like you're not wearing anything, and when you lie on either side, it doesn't cause any discomfort. In fact, you can fall asleep without feeling like something is bothering you. In terms of performance, they have a battery that lasts long enough for a whole night's sleep, and with different sizes of eartips, they can be adjusted to fit different types of ears. The Ozlo app is also very helpful for choosing your preferred ambient sounds, setting alarms, setting a sleep timer, and using the autoplay function so that the device detects when you are starting to fall asleep and begins to play the previously selected ambient sound. Sleepbuds can be used to listen to music from your phone, but they do not have any buttons to control the volume or music playback. The isolation from outside noise works well; it is almost imperceptible what is happening around you, which is a great help if you live in places where this is a problem. In summary, I consider this to be a very useful product that is easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, with enough battery life to last all night, and an app that has everything you need to use it. The Sleepbuds are comfortable and come with different eartips for each type of ear. Some aspects could be improved, such as adding some kind of volume or playback control on the device itself, although one of the most important areas for improvement would be the price, since for what they offer, due to the nature of the product, the cost seems a little high. A discount would not be a bad idea. This product is for those who place a high value on resting and recovery after long or hard days, and who want to invest in sleep, which is so important for health. If you want to improve your sleep quality and don't mind the price, this product is for you. I can recommend it.

The Ozlo sleep buds ship with a sleek stylish storage case, USB-C to A charging cable, and additional sized silicone ear tips. The case lid slides open to reveal the buds and status LEDs inside. In addition to charging, housing, and managing the buds, the advanced case can also monitor sleep conditions in the surrounding environment and share that data with the user through the app under “My Sleep”. The feature isn’t currently universally available, and unfortunately my app advertises it as coming soon. The case also acts as a bridge between the Bluetooth device and buds because the buds utilize Bluetooth Low Energy while the phone uses regular Bluetooth. The phone streams to the case, which then streams to the buds using the different protocol. Setting up the Ozlo buds was quick and straightforward. A QR-code containing links to download the Ozlo companion app is prominently displayed in the packaging. I scanned the code, installed the appropriate app version for my phone and completed setup in-app. Setup steps included pairing the buds to my smartphone and selecting a default sound to play whenever the buds are inserted. I also set an alarm, which is optional. I had to keep the buds nested inside the case and slide the case lid open to initially pair the case to my phone via Bluetooth. Creating an Oslo account is suggested but not required. An account can be created using an email address or using an existing account through for popular services like Google. I opted to sign up for a new account using email. The buds fit comfortably inside my ear canal and I never feel any discomfort, even when side-sleeping. The factory pre-installed tips fit me perfectly and securely. Trying out additional tips or performing additional sizing steps weren't necessary. The buds create an effective seal to block out sound and remain securely in place while I’m sleeping regardless of how much I toss and turn. They have not fallen out of my ears once despite frequent use and my being a notoriously light and active sleeper. I even had my wife try them out for a night and she was impressed with the comfort and performance. They have sufficient battery capacity to last me throughout a typical 8-9 hour overnight sleep cycle. I charge them daily because the battery levels are typically too low by morning to last me another full night. This is understandable given the tiny size and capabilities of the buds. It’s also not bad when compared to the battery life of my music listening earbuds. I keep the USB-C to A charging cable plugged directly into a USB-A charging port on my power strip where it remains readily available to charge the buds every morning. An AC charger with USB-A input can also be used The Ozlo buds have good sound quality and volume. They also do a fantastic job of blocking out unwanted noise while isolating and sealing in the desired sounds. Volume plays a key role in how well they block external noise. I’ve discovered that I can occasionally hear snoring and other muffled external sounds bleeding through the buds at lower volumes. That’s understandable since these have no active noise cancelling, only passive. The passive noise canceling works in conjunction with the system sounds to eliminate unwanted noise by sealing out the bulk of the external sounds and drowning out the rest with white noise. In most instances the combo is effective at blocking external sounds. Even when sound does bleed through at lower listening volumes it is extremely quiet and barely noticeable. The buds do not have touch controls, so I must make sure everything is set to my preferred settings before putting the case and phone away. I usually use the same masking sound and volume, so most nights I’m able to simply pop the buds into my ears and go to sleep. Twenty-six different system sounds are included. These sounds are like those typically found on quality white noise machines or in smartphone sleep apps. They include common sleep sound favorites like flowing water, ocean surf, a rainfall, waterfalls, wind blowing and many others. The sounds are pleasant sounding and don’t suffer from bland artificial sound quality like I've encountered with some white noise machines. I have favorites I prefer over others, but don't feel any of the sounds are poor in quality. I appreciate the large library of system sounds that I can use directly from the onboard memory of the buds because I’d prefer not to stream from my phone all night. The Ozlo buds can be used independent of my smartphone, even with the phone powered off or the phone’s Bluetooth disabled. The buds also have a useful feature where they can detect when a user falls asleep, pause any streaming content from the device and switch to the embedded system sounds automatically. This is useful if streaming audio books or other content from the phone where you’d want to resume where you left off after falling asleep. The alarm sounds gently at the preset time and replaces the white noise to calmly wake me in the morning without disturbing my spouse. The alarm sounds are gentle yet effective, resulting in a nice calm awakening. There are multiple alarm sound options as well. After awakening, I simply place the buds back into their case to charge and go about my day. Overall, the buds have had a positive impact on my sleep quality. It took a couple days for me to notice improvement because I had to get accustomed to wearing buds all night while I sleep and waking to sound being played directly into my ears rather than a stand alone alarm. I’ve dozed off with conventional buds but have always removed them before falling asleep because they would always either feel uncomfortable if I slept on my side or eventually fell out my ears from turning my head. No such issues with these Ozlo buds. Now that I am accustomed to sleeping with the Ozlo buds inserted, they have become a valuable companion for a typically poor sleeper like myself.

These fill a rare need for those looking to find earbuds that are comfortable enough for side-sleeping, while also serving to mask environmental sounds like roadways or snoring partners. For some, any solution is worth the cost, but for me, these still feel a considerably overpriced despite a great build quality and acceptable comfort. ___ Design and Comfort ___ I’ll start with the best parts of these. These feel premium and include most of what you’d want. The case is metal with a sliding lid that also serves as a power-on button, of sorts. Inside each bud is nestled well and are pretty easy to grab. Four sizes of silicone sleeves are included, and Ozlo does a good job of explaining how to select the best one for you. That being said, while I do find these comfortable, I can feel that they’re in. The ear that interacts with the pillow has felt a little more pressure than the other, but I had no trouble falling asleep. __ Features, Price and Promises __ It really is in the cost and some growing pains (more on that below) that keep me from rating these higher - even while they seem to deliver on most of their goals. Sound quality is good, though the default volume seems to be set fairly low, meaning that once I put these away, my phone’s volume (or another set of earbuds) are then set too loud and I need to adjust. Bass is ok, but slightly weak, but the overall sound space feels good, especially for something you can comfortably wear to bed. The available masking and soundscape sounds are good and effective a distracting away from other sounds, especially after a recent round of updates and should provide the right kind of white noise for those who just need to turn their brain off for sleep. I also enjoy the included timer and ‘when I fall asleep’ settings for automatically switching from whatever you’re listening to, to your chosen background sound. It’s smart and seems to work. And since you’re expected to sleep the whole night with these in, 10 hours of battery life is plenty enough to get you there and included alarms gently wake you up (as you might not have otherwise been able to hear your bedside alarm, for example.) These are great features, but not necessarily enough to justify the price. That’s likely because Sleep Tracking, a signature feature of these new sleep buds, is not yet ready while I’m writing this - This will apparently use temperature, sound and light sensors within the case, along with sensors in the earbuds to possibly track sleep a bit better than other things on the market. If you’re buying these to see proof that masking environmental sounds or a snoring partner, I can see the benefit… but it’s not yet here, and there isn’t an ETA. I give Ozlo/Best Buy credit for not marketing these missing features directly - as that would have seemed like false advertising - but without them, it makes these feel quite overpriced at MSRP. Buying anything based on promises isn’t the best, so I’d always recommend choosing to buy based on what a product already offers. ___ Quirks and Annoyances ___ Even with the potential, these also seem to suffer from a few beta software hurdles. Ozlo’s young brand seems reputable enough - having brought forward Bose IP & technology directly from their nearly identical looking (but discontinued) product, and being formed by ex-Bose engineers themselves. Still, the experience of using these earbuds is a bit rough around the edges. For one, a recent firmware update was made to improve unforeseen bluetooth connectivity issues prior to my use, yet I have found a few spotty moment where my connection dropped out despite the fix. This was an exception, and for the most part my connection has been fine, but any loss makes me careful to rely on the wake-up alarms built into these. Perhaps a few more months of improvements will ensure a rock-solid solution, but for now I keep loud back-up alarms at the ready. The other beta element to these is an unusually long process for updating both the firmware and sounds. The bluetooth firmware update mentioned above took between 15-30 minutes. In the age of smart devices, these things usually take no more than 5, so it felt a bit surprising. On top of that, updating the 10 on-device sound slots took between 8-15 minutes, each - that translated to a minimum of 80 minutes total. Each had to be updated individually and my phone needed to be nearby with the app open during this time. Not exactly convenient, but hopefully something I won’t see updates for in the future - though swapping sound choices to the buds currently take a similar amount of time. ___ Overall ___ Even with what comes across as growing pains and promises, I still feel that these may solve an important need for people. Not many earbuds are comfortable enough to wear while lying on your side. Alternatively, these could open the door to a nightly podcast listening routine you otherwise would have never explored… Or maybe quality white noises built into earplugs is exactly what you need to get through a night with good sleep. This product already fills niche scenarios in a way that only its Bose predecessor may have been able to. The promise of sleep tracking sounds great and well suited for all of the potential sleep or pre-sleep uses you might have with these, but I would cautiously wait for those to arrive first. The price seems high, but sleep is also important if this is what gets you there. That might just be enough of a reason to spring for these.

I’ve been using electronic sleep buds since 2018, and the Ozlo Sleepbuds are the fourth pair I’ve tried and the most comfortable one yet. My first pair was the Bose Noise-Masking Sleepbuds from 2018, the second pair was the Bose Sleepbuds II from 2020, and the third pair was the Anker Soundcore Sleep A10 Earbuds from 2022. The two Bose sleepbuds failed and broke down after only one year and one and a half years of usage, respectively. The Anker A10 earbuds are still functioning and working well despite the battery stamina that has shrunk quite a bit in the past three years of daily usage. The common theme among those three different pairs of sleep buds was the discomfort they caused to my ears despite getting used to them after the initial break-in period – eight out of ten mornings, I would find myself hunting for one or both of the missing sleepbuds because I had removed them sometime during the night due to uncomfortableness. Sometimes I would find the missing piece underneath my pillow, sometimes underneath my torso, and sometimes on the floor next to my bed. With the Ozlo sleepbuds, they’re so comfortable even when side sleeping, the buds stay inside my ear until the alarm bell goes off. The rubber material is softer than any other pair of sleepbuds I’ve used so far, and probably due to the way the rubber folds and flexes according to the pressure I apply, my ears don’t ache or feel sore upon awakening. I think the company invested both lots of time and money into the type of rubber that goes into the Ozlo Sleepbuds because they’re the gentlest and softest type I’ve encountered so far, and I love it! Although I may spend 80% of my sleep on my back, the 20% that I do spend sleeping sideways means the sleepbuds must be soft, gentle, and pliable, and the Ozlo Sleepbuds is the best in the category of comfort hands-down. In addition to the superb comfort and pliability of the sleepbuds, I’m happy to report that the company did not fail when it comes to the smartphone companion app. The app is aptly called Ozlo Sleepbuds, and it’s a very intuitive and well-designed piece of software, unlike the buggy and unreliable Bose app, or the unintuitive and bit confusing software from Anker. The Ozlo app is attractive-looking, snappy and responsive, and very intuitively laid out, with the four major functions located on the bottom of the screen. The app currently offers 26 noise-making sleep sounds and eight alarm bell sounds. Each sound effect is high-fidelity and crisp, and the quality sounds great. For my Sleep Sound, I’m using the Babbling Brook sound effect, and it’s a water streaming type of sound that I find soothing and peaceful. I have the volume set at 40%, and it’s enough to filter out most noise inside my bedroom, such as my ceiling fan or windows AC conditioner set at low fan speed. For the alarm sound, I’m using the “Wake Up!” sound effect at 50% volume, and it gently snaps me awake. The battery life is pretty good, and the buds stayed on even during my super-long, catch-up sleep sessions over the weekend that lasted up to 12 hours. Overall, I’m super happy and satisfied with the Ozlo Sleepbuds, but there are two things I must mention as Cons. The first is the inability to turn off or snooze the alarm by tapping on the sides of the sleepbuds. I’m used to doing so from my previous set of sleepbuds from other companies, and I sorely miss that feature. As it is, in order to stop the buds from continuing to sound the alarm, you have to either place the buds inside the case or use the app to stop the alarm. My second con is the price of admittance for this wonderfully comfortable and well-executed product. The Ozlo Sleepbuds are definitely premium in terms of sleepbud build material and design, the smart charging case, high-quality noise-masking sound effects and alarm sounds, and the slick and intuitive app. But by pricing them so high, less people will be able to afford these to give them a try and probably miss out on restful and rejuvenating sleep, which is a shame. With that said, I still think the Ozlo Sleepbuds are worth every penny because, as a light and sensitive sleeper who gets startled awake relatively easily, these buds are literally a lifesaver for both my mental and physical health. The buds are super comfortable and soft, the noise-masking effects are both pleasant and high effective, and the usage and app experiences are stellar. If these prove to be durable and as long-lasting as my Anker sleepbuds, then I will stick with Ozlo Sleepbuds going forward. 4.5 Stars.

I sleep with a couple of loud fans on every night, so I thought the Ozlo Sleepbuds might be a great replacement. After nearly a week of using them, I’ve got some thoughts. The fit, finish, packaging, and even the Ozlo app on my iPhone are all polished and classy. Unboxing the Sleepbuds felt premium. You can tell a lot of thought went into the product. The case has a sleek metal exterior with a purple interior lining, and the buds themselves are impressively small and lightweight, yet still feel high quality. I stuck with the default ear tips, but Ozlo includes several sizes in case the preinstalled ones don’t offer a comfortable fit or proper seal. After charging the buds in the case, you’ll need to download the Ozlo app and pair them. These earbuds are unique in that they connect wirelessly to the case, not directly to your phone. The case connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and while you can technically use the buds without the case nearby, it’s best to keep it on your nightstand. The app lets you adjust various settings like a wake-up alarm and an auto-sleep detection feature that stops whatever you’re streaming and switches to your default masking sound. Streaming my audiobook sounded okay, though you can tell the drivers are small, likely a trade-off to preserve battery life. The buds use Bluetooth LE, which consumes very little power and allows them to last through the night. I chose the Crimson sound, which closely resembles the white noise I’m used to from my fans. I also tested other options like rainfall, ocean waves, and jungle ambience. At around 70 percent volume, the Sleepbuds did a great job masking external noise. I was able to tune out the world and fall asleep quickly. On the second night, I tested the auto-sleep detection feature and it worked. I woke up to my chosen sleep sound instead of being 27 chapters deep into my audiobook. Eventually, I stopped noticing the Sleepbuds altogether. They’re that comfortable, light, and small. So small, in fact, that one slipped out during the night and nearly got lost. They generally stay put well, but I toss and turn a lot, so it’s something to watch for. That only happened once during my week of testing. Loading sounds onto the Sleepbuds is a bit of a process. Since the sounds are stored locally and not streamed, you have to manually select and update each one. It’s simple enough but slow. Each sound took anywhere from five to fifteen minutes to load. You can’t queue uploads, and the Sleepbuds shut off after a while, requiring multiple reboots by opening and closing the case. It took over an hour to update all the sounds, which was frustrating. That said, you probably won’t be swapping sounds often, so it’s mostly a one-time hassle. Functionally, the Sleepbuds are solid. They’re comfortable, long-lasting, and effective at masking noise. But that’s also where I ran into a problem. They block sound better than both my box fans on high, and that’s an issue for me. I have a family and dogs, and things happen. Whether it’s a dog choking, a kid needing help, or a loud crash in the kitchen, I need to be able to hear. Unlike daytime use with noise-canceling headphones, wearing the Sleepbuds at night felt a bit anxiety-inducing. I didn’t like being cut off from sound without any visual cues, and that level of isolation just isn’t workable for me at home. However, I’m excited to try them while traveling. I currently use a Bluetooth speaker for white noise in hotels, but these will be a much more compact and discreet option. Overall, Ozlo made a great product. The Sleepbuds do exactly what they promise, and aside from the slow sound-loading process, I had no technical issues. But the complete isolation they create, even from louder nighttime sounds, was too much for me. If you’re okay with that level of disconnect, these could absolutely replace a white noise machine or fan in your bedroom.

I was anxious to receive these sleep earbuds because I have tinnitus and never hear any quiet. At night I was simply playing sleepy style music or listening to sleep stories on the phone next to my bed, not ever wearing earbuds. Upon arriving I noticed how well they were packaged and the outer round Smart Case with sliding lid is a nicely finished metal instead of plastic. It has magnetic grips inside where the buds lie to charge or store and each is marked R or L so you know where they sit. They come with the No. 2 eartips installed but I found size 0 was the exact ones I needed. You also have a choice of size 1 or 3 eartips to choose from. Included is a USB-C charging cable and a "Let's Get To Sleep" instruction booklet. You will need to download the Ozlo Sleep app and set up an account to be able to stream content, listen to sleep sounds, customize settings and get new features. No credit card is needed. There was an update available for the unit which took about 20 minutes or so. I found each of the different sounds from the app also have updates available but I only updated 2 after I previewed them all. I liked Ocean Tide and Misty Rain to start. There are 3 different Alarm sounds as well ~ Bubble Bells, Cosmic Chime and Peppermint Piano. When charging the earbuds they must be inside the case of course, and when connecting to Bluetooth they must be in the case. These are designed to be used next to your bed as they don't have a lot of range or will disconnect. The case and buds you need to keep within 10 feet of each other and the case and phone no farther than 30 feet apart. When charging there are lights inside the case that will turn off when the buds are removed and turn on when placed back in the case to signify charging status. If you ever need to reboot your Smart Case simply close your lid with the sleepbuds inside and wait 30 seconds. After getting all set up and finding another area of sleep sounds I decided to try the ALL ABOARD which is like being on a train. I love trains, grew up traveling on them, so this was right up my alley. Wow it was really wonderful! The earbuds fit in my ears so comfortably and as I sleep on my back no worries about them slipping out. I fell asleep quickly and when I woke up several hours later I was still on that train! Great battery life, that's for sure. The sound volume can be adjusted on the app and I honestly am so pleased with these. They block out background noise and really well. I had them in when first testing and was sitting next to my husband. I had to turn the sound off to hear him speaking. Yes, they are that good. This will be awesome as our neighbors have a dog who they let out early every morning and leave her out for a long while. Well she barks constantly so thank goodness I now will finally be able to get some sleep! You can use these with different apps on your phone other than just the Ozlo ones provided but I am pleased with the 3 I chose. Listening to an audiobook or your music of choice is another thing that's available to do. Nice, clean sound whatever you choose! I highly recommend the purchase of these! They are so comfortable to wear and really work at putting me to sleep, even with my noisy ears. Ozlo you have a winner here!!

I'm happy with the Ozlo Sleepbuds. They are small and come with four sizes of ear tips (XS, S, M, L) that fit securely in your ear without sticking out or feeling like they're stuffed in your canal. The ear tips have flexible silicone wings to help them stay in place as you move during the night. I sleep on my back mostly, but sometimes on my side, and I never worry they will fall out. When I lay on my side, I felt some pressure from the earbuds against the pillow, but it wasn't enough to be concerned about, even as a sensitive sleeper. Connecting the Ozlo Sleepbuds to my Pixel phone was frustrating. I followed the directions, but the results did not match what the app said. The case has LED lights that show when they are connected properly. My LEDs would light up, but they did not match the app's explanation. Then I would see a "let's try this again" message, and the same thing happened again. Eventually, they did connect. After getting them connected, I had to install an update. It stated that the update would take approximately 30 minutes. That is the longest update time I have seen for a piece of tech. Fortunately, it took around 10-15 minutes, which is still a bit long for an update with excellent Wi-Fi. The earbuds last all night on a single charge, but it's recommended to charge them in the morning to use them the next night. The case can charge them like other earbuds, but I found it unreliable for home use, so I plugged them in every morning. However, the case might work well for traveling. The Ozlo Sleepbuds come with a companion app featuring 26 soothing sounds designed to help you sleep. I found some sounds more relaxing than others. My favorite is the Intimate Rain sound, which is gentle rain without any thunder. Other options include Gentle Ocean, Summer Nights, Into the Woods, and various types of white noise, such as Green Dream, Deep Brown, Pink Haze, and Winter White. Overall, they did a great job with the sounds. Most of them are ones I would consider using. However, finding the soothing sounds you'll use is a personal choice. You can play your own audio, like playlists or podcasts, from any music streaming app. This is great for listening to your favorite content while going to sleep. The app features an auto-switch function that automatically switches to white noise after a set time. I started a podcast and used this feature to switch to white noise once I fell asleep. This way, I could finish listening in the morning. The app also features gentle alarm sounds to wake you up, which are more pleasant than typical phone alarms. I found the alarms very pleasant, but for the first few nights, I kept a backup alarm on my phone as a precaution. I was worried the earbuds might fall out and I would miss the alarm. However, it's essential to note that after a week of use, they never feel uncomfortable during sleep. The Ozlo app does not currently track sleep. The app states, "We are working on an update that will unlock sleep data. We will notify you as soon as it's ready." Some people may want to wait before buying it. However, since there are many other ways to track sleep, it isn't a significant issue. On the other hand, since these earbuds cost $350, I expect the product to be fully ready when I buy it. Too often with tech, companies promise updates that either don't come or are poorly done when they finally arrive. These Sleepbuds do not have active noise cancellation, which would be necessary for their use. However, they do provide sound passive noise isolation. This may be because the company wants to allow some outside noise for safety reasons or to save costs. Overall, I found the noise isolation effective. They can block out familiar sounds, such as air conditioning, distant conversations, or even leaf blowers, from outside the house. However, they might struggle with low-frequency noises, such as bass-heavy music. If you have teenagers in the house and try to catch a nap during the day, you may still hear some noise. The added masking sounds can help with this, but you may not want to increase the volume more than usual when trying to sleep.

📦 UNBOXING: Inside the box, you’ll find the earbuds in the charging case with size 2 eartips pre-installed, 3 more sets of eartips, a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging, and documentation. 💪 BUILD: The case feels sturdy—almost like a tin of mints, but much easier to open thanks to its sliding lid design. This does mean it might be more susceptible to opening by accident if you put them in a bag during your travels, but Ozlo does sell a travel case should you want it. There is a USB-C port on the back which can be used for charging and firmware updates via the web-based updater on their website. There is no support for Qi charging, but since these are likely to remain at the bedside most of the time, this isn’t much of an issue. When you open the lid, you’ll find the Sleepbuds, and thankfully all the eartips can be installed and fit in the case. There are LED bars on both the left and right which glow to indicate when each respective bud is charging in the case and when they are connecting. This is important since the buds use metal contacts to charge, and they don’t always perfectly magnetically align if you just drop them into the case. So you’ll want to make sure they are glowing when you put them in the case. Additionally, there is an array of 5 LEDs to show the charge status of the case. 📱 SETUP: The setup was pretty straightforward, and using the mobile app makes it a seamless process. I did have to perform a firmware update out of the box, and the app shared all of the latest updates and features throughout its guided tour, which I appreciated. 🧠 FEATURES: The Ozlo Sleepbuds support both soundscapes and masking sounds. Soundscapes appear to be their newer more atmospheric, immersive relaxing environmental noises, while masking sounds are simpler, yet still effective. There are also alarm noises you can use to wake you up from sleep when you’re wearing the Sleepbuds. Right now, you can’t upload your own sound loops, but I could see that being desirable for folks who want to go the extra mile to produce their own masking noises. Out of the box, the buds can start playing the masking noises immediately once you remove them from the case, but you can also configure them to only play the masking noises once it detects that you’ve fallen asleep. This is useful for folks who want to listen to their own music or podcast at bedtime, then automatically have their content paused and transition into masking noises. I have opted to have the masking noises play immediately, but if you start playing content from your phone, it’ll take precedence. There’s also power-saving features to extend the battery life of the buds. After a period of time, the case will completely disconnect from your phone to save battery, but the masking noises will still play through the buds. You can store plenty of sounds directly on the Sleepbuds, but it can take a couple minutes to transfer a new sound onto the Sleepbuds. Out of the box, there were updates for the sounds stored on the buds, so updating each one took quite a bit of time. The masking volume can be set only through the app, while bluetooth streaming volume is controlled by your phone like most earbuds. 👂 COMFORT: Comfort is one of the most important parts of the Ozlo Sleepbuds, and I found that it takes some trial and error to get favorable results. There are 4 sizes of ear tips to choose from, and they are numbered 0, 1, 2 and 3. The numbers are labeled on the ear tips so it’s obvious what size they are. The default size of 2 initially felt fine in my ears and was snug, but since I’m a side sleeper, I felt quite a bit of pressure in my ear as the sleepbud rested against my pillow. I ended up waking up feeling discomfort in my ear after a few hours and had to take the earbuds out. I ended up switching to size 0, and this was a decent improvement for my ears. Obviously, these preferences will depend on your ear shape, and there is always a possibility that you won’t find any of them to be comfortable. As someone who typically cannot wear earbuds for very long, I found that Ozlo’s ear tip design does lend to a better experience for sleeping compared to other earbuds I’ve tried to sleep with. They never fell out of my ears thanks to the winged tips. However, I do want to mention that for side sleepers, a firm pillow could potentially cause more pressure against your ear canal when the sleepbuds rest against the pillow. So a softer, more relaxed pillow can reduce that kind of discomfort. Once I made these changes, the amount of discomfort I experienced was definitely reduced, but I wouldn’t say it was gone completely. 😴 SOUND MASKING: The sound masking, in my experience, is quite effective. It’ll take some adjustment for you to figure out how much volume you need or which sound can mask tinnitus, environmental noises, or even a snoring partner, but as someone who is a light sleeper, the sound masking definitely helped me stay asleep or fall back asleep quicker when my partner was snoring or some other environmental noise was occurring. In the past, I’ve used the “Dark Noise” Background Sound built into iOS’ accessibility options to help mask noises while sleeping, and I felt that Ozlo’s “Crimson Cloak” is a good equivalent for me. It’s not distracting, and it does a good job at masking a wide range of noises. 🔊 SOUND QUALITY: For music, podcasts and other content, these sound decent. They have a flatter sound profile, so they’re not the most exciting for music, but given that they need to focus on making the masking sounds their #1 priority, I think that’s fair. Personally, I often listen to spoken content when going to bed, so this is perfectly fine for me. There is no native EQ for Bluetooth streaming on the Sleepbuds right now, and while I don’t think that’s a high-priority feature, it’s something that I would likely use if it was offered. 🔋 BATTERY: Ozlo doesn’t quite say how many charges the case should theoretically deliver to the Sleepbuds, but the buds themselves can deliver up to 10 hours on a full charge. With the Power Saving mode enabled, and less than 1hour of a podcast playing before the masking kicks in, I had over 50% of battery left on the Sleepbuds by the time I woke up. 🧐 CONCLUSION: The Ozlo Sleepbuds do a great job at masking noises while you sleep—whether a snoring partner, tinnitus or environmental noise. But their comfort isn’t flawless, so you’ll need to do some trial and error to get the best results. I’d of course recommend them to folks who have tinnitus, a snoring partner, or live in a louder environment. But I’d also recommend them to folks who stay in hostels or travel with others who snore. The Ozlo Sleepbuds are a great companion for home use, but could be even more important for travelers who can’t always control their sleeping environment.

The Ozlo earbuds are unique noise-canceling assistive devices. At first, I didn't know if these would work for me. Were they going to be comfortable in my ear the whole night? Would they block out the sounds of my partner snoring? I wasn't sure, but after the first night, I'd say they were great! These are small, flat earbuds that fit comfortably in your ear, even if you sleep on your side. The battery lasted the whole night. There were several sounds to choose from and additional sounds that I could download from Ozlo. Setup was easy; just follow the instructions after installing the app. After the earbuds were paired, they were ready for use. Nightly use starts with opening the app, then opening the case, allowing the earbuds to connect to the phone, and then placing them in your ear. You choose the sound you would like and set the volume in the app. This is a little clunky as you have to connect the earbuds each time you use them. You cannot use your phone's volume button to adjust the volume, instead having to use the app, which is a minor inconvenience. You set up your wake-up time for an alarm to wake you up and you are ready to go. You can listen to your own content and let the earbuds automatically shift into noise-canceling mode as you fall asleep. This is a beta setting, and I was unable to get it to work; hopefully, it will be better with future updates. The earbuds cancel noise, but they do not have active noise canceling. Even so, I found they were very effective. With the earbuds in, I found that my sleep was better, and I awoke more rested, even though I did not feel like I needed them before I tried them. I am now using them every night.

I got the Ozlo Sleepbuds for my wife as I am a buzzsaw grade snorer. I've had anyone who's ever had the misfortune of sleeping in the same room as me say I'm the loudest snorer they've ever heard. My wife has no qualms about elbowing me (hard!) to get me to shift when I snore, so I jumped on the opportunity to try these Sleepbuds for her. Unfortunately, as excellent as they are, they were just no match for my snoring. They helped mask and muffle my snoring, but they weren't able to fully block out my snoring. I'll try and cover the highlights and why that was the case briefly: 1. These are NOT Active Noise Cancelling sleepbuds. They just don't exist yet because the power and size of electronics needed just aren't able possible yet. As soon as I learned this from my wife, I knew they weren't going to be the silver bullet to end my snoring nightmare for her. 2. The sleepbuds are HIGHLY reliant on the App. Thankfully the App is quite slick and excellent overall, however, it does present a somewhat disjointed and jarring experience because your phone and earbuds can't change the volume, change the sounds, use your phone alarms or even pair the earbuds. You have to do it from the App. Also, some app compatiblity was hit or miss like my wife wasn't getting TikTok through the Ozlos but this is either fixed or will be fixed because she was able to play her audio books and music. 3. You can set alarms through the Ozlo App that play through the sleepbuds so you don't snooze through your other alarms. You NEED this or you'd block out your phone or physical alarm while wearing the headphones. 4. The case and build quality are great. Very slick sliding puck like the size of some of those mints. Big enough to not get lost, small enough to still be portable and the case also holds additional charging for the headphones which can do 10 hours and charge in roughly 3 hours with the case providing additional charges before having to be plugged in. 5. Novel connectivity method. So the charging puck connects to your phone via BT, but then the headsets connect to the charging puck using Blue Tooth Low Energy. This is what allows the Ozlo earbuds to be so small! They are teeeeeeny basically the size of in-ear hearing aids that cost thousands of dollars, so packing all of this tech into Ozlo sleepbuds is very impressive. 6. Extremely comfortable. I hate wearing these in-ear earbuds for extended periods but my wife is used to wearing AirPods Pro to sleep so these were very comfortable for her. They are super small and have a number of additional ear pieces for larger/smaller inner ear lobes. I think the Ozlo sleepbuds are great for anyone who wants to drown out urban sounds, like cars, horns, street noise. It does OK for my snoring but is far from completely blocking it out. However, it still helps and so far my wife says they do help her especially when it comes to staying asleep in the middle of the night or if she gets up. Definitely recommend it, and I'm certainly happy to spend the money over using a CPAP or catching elbows to the ribs every night!

If you share your bed with someone that snores, then you know. It’s a race to fall asleep first or earplugs if you have to. I’ve actually tried using my ANC earbuds, which does work, but they’re not nearly as comfortable and tend to fall out. This is kind of the same concept, but these earbuds have a much thinner body making them ideal for side sleepers and comfortable for wearing for hours. Where a normal earbud would stick out a bit and bother my ear on the pillow, these are so thin they hide inside the ear and are practically unnoticeable. The only issue is that it’s a little tricky pulling them out as you have to kind of pinch for them. But feel for the ear anchor and it should be easy removing. Performance wise, these have been great so far. They don’t drown out all the noise, but allow just enough to hear emergencies, while also masking noises and regulating their volume. The app has multiple masking sounds to download and is also used for adjusting the masking sound volume, sleep timer, and alarm. I actually really like the alarm feature as it doesn’t bother anyone else. For the price point though, I do wish there were health sensors or sleep health monitoring features. The description says biohealth monitors, but I didn’t notice them put to use. They do however absolutely win in comfort. I can wear these all night without any issues and that’s pretty crucial, because otherwise I wouldn’t use them at all. If you want noise cancelling earbuds specifically designed for sleep, this is it. Keep in mind they’re not great as headphones, but that’s because they’re more about drowning out and masking noise than sound quality. You could try ANC earbuds, but these are so low profile they practically get lost in your ears and don’t get in the way of side sleeping. They’re pricey, but they do work and a good night's sleep can be invaluable. PROS - Comfortable for all-night sleep - Thin and low profile - Great fit for side sleepers - Works well masking noises and regulating volume - Relationship/sleep saver CONS - Case seems bigger than it needs to be - No sleep health tracking or monitoring features - A little difficult removing earbuds because of slim profile

TLDR: A comfortable & unique set of headphones aimed at improving sleep quality but is held back by poor Android implementation & ridiculously long updates. PROS Extremely comfortable Light weight Plays ambient noise automatically while sleeping Upscale and Premium Look & Feel CONS Android software buggy Does not revert to streaming when awake Ridiculously long firmware updates Ridiculously long ambient noise downloads INTRODUCTION Ozlo, a little-known earbud company (at least I was unaware they existed) founded by 3 former Bose employees. These 3 former employees set out to establish a product that filled a niche market that no one had successfully filled to date. Their goal was to design a set of earbuds that were comfortable enough you could use them while sleeping, not to mention a product that streams, for lack of a better description, white noise while sleeping with the goal of getting a better night’s sleep. They succeeded. The Sleepbuds are incredibly comfortable to wear. So light and comfortable, you barely notice they are there. Fitting into the ear without protruding into the actual canal and the silicon strap provides just enough tension inside the ear to keep them from falling out. Most earbuds that fit down into my ear canals eventually leave my ears feeling sweaty and itchy. Not the Sleepbuds. Because they don’t fit down into the ear canal, I can wear them all night long without feeling itchy and uncomfortable. SET-UP AND USE There is no other way to say it. The Android software implementation is bug filled and impossible to use. In today’s market, there is no excuse for poorly designed and implemented software, especially in a premium product like the Sleepbuds. Ozlo is aware of the issues too. It starts when you first try and pair the Sleepbuds with your Android. They warn you of pairing issues during set-up. Unfortunately, the Ozlo software cannot overcome the bugs. Neither my older Galaxy tablet nor my brand-new Pixel 10 Pro could configure the Sleepbuds. Each device hung during the initial firmware update. Ozlo warns you that it could take up to 30 minutes to update. Nope. I waited and waited and after 1 hour, it was still at 0% on my Pixel. 0% on my Galaxy and after another hour. Unacceptable. You cannot bypass the mandatory update either. Without the update, the Sleepbuds are unusable. Thankfully, I have an older iPad for just these situations. Sure enough, the iPad pairing and updates all proceeded without hiccup. Sadly, Ozlo appears to have devoted most of their time and efforts into iOS. Not only did it update without issue, but it also took less than ½ the time, it would have required with Android. Right from the beginning it estimated a 15-minute update procedure. Once paired with my iPad, I proceeded to watch one of my favorite podcasts. Sure enough, I fell straight asleep, not even realizing that I had dozed off. When I did wake up, the Sleepbuds had paused my stream and began playing ambient white noise. From my timeline, it looks like at just over 20 minutes, the Sleepbuds noticed my change and began streaming its own ambient sounds. The included ambient noise with the Sleepbuds is impressive. Ozlo has included a terrific and varied number of different noises that should surely appeal to nearly everyone. The sheer number of noises is quite impressive. The repetitive clacking of train tracks, freeways, rain, creeks, thunderstorms, forest, air travel, box fans, crackling fires, etc. Ozlo’s selection is fantastic. Coming from someone who has used YouTube and/or Amazon Music for ambient sounds while traveling, I find the Ozlo sounds substantially clearer and much more satisfying than other offerings. OTHER ISSUES & OBSERVATIONS As good as the Sleepbuds were at changing states when I fell asleep, I would like to see them be equally adept as when I wake up. I would like them to be able to resume their last streaming service when I wake up. After unlocking my iPad and carrying it around with me, the Sleepbuds never transitioned back to the streaming, maintaining its white noise playback. Furthermore, switching between apps requires constant reconnections with the Sleepbuds. With YouTube and Ozlo Sleep running in the background on my iPad, switching between apps disconnects the Sleepbuds and requires a re-connect. While it only takes a few seconds, it is annoying and to date, is the ONLY product I own that exhibits this behavior. This also brings up another issue with the Sleepbuds. After waiting so long to get them up and running I couldn’t wait to try them out. But I couldn’t. After the initial update, all the pre-loaded soundtracks were no longer compatible with the Sleepbuds. EVERY single ambient noise track had to be re-downloaded. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge issue. Even with a basic internet connection, download times are normally only a matter of seconds. Not with the Ozlo Sleepbuds. EVERY single ambient noise soundtrack takes approximately 15 minutes to download and install to the Sleep Buds. To get all those wonderful soundtracks back, the user is looking at approximately 3 – 4 hours of downloading and updating. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Granted you could only download one or two tracks, but there were so many included in the demo when I first got the Sleepbuds, it would be nice to have them all back and available, but now I’m not sure if it is worth all the time and effort. FINAL THOUGHTS Do I like the Sleepbuds? Yes, I do. They are a novel and comfortable product. Bose headphones have traditionally been the gold standard for noise cancellation and comfort (in my opinion). You can tell the audio quality that made Bose headphones so famous was a priority for the new owners of Ozlo. The more I use the Sleepbuds, the more I forget about all the issues that plagued them during my initial set-up process. But I can’t totally forget about the beginning. Had I not had an iOS device; the Sleepbuds would currently be unusable. I couldn’t get past the firmware update. Not only that, I have just one soundtrack downloaded. I don’t want to devote 3 – 4 hours to get back to square one. Not to mention, if I were to download the entire catalog available, it would take 8 – 10 hours to install. I’ve always said in my past headphone and ear bud reviews that they must be equally as capable with iOS and Android. The Ozlo’s are not. If I were a total Android household, there is no way I would recommend the Sleepbuds at this point in their development. If I had a total iOS household, the troubles and dislikes would be much less of an issue. Thankfully, with a mixed device household I was able to finally get the Sleepbuds working. This is not a detriment to the Ozlo Sleepbuds, more of just an FYI. For those thinking the Sleepbuds would be their go-to buds for day-to-day use, they are not. They are not for working out, not for making calls, they are made to help you fall asleep and have better quality sleep. Would I buy the Sleepbuds? If I had an iPhone; Yes. If not; No. I’ll give the Sleepbuds a recommended rating, but only 3 stars at this point. There are still too many bugs that need addressed for their Android customers to give them a rating any higher, regardless of how good they sound and feel.

I’ve used everything from a fan, to sound apps, to the foam ear plugs and though they worked they didn’t always work. So I was hopeful but skeptical the Ozlo sleep buds would be that one thing that would give me back a good nights sleep and so far I absolutely love them! I live about a 100 to 150 yards from an interstate, not the busiest but pretty busy. Unfortunately, the interstate never bothered me until the last couple of years, so that’s when my sleep problems began. The Ozlo sleepbuds come with four pairs of soft silicone tips, a USB-C charge cable and hefty metal case with a rubberized bottom to keep them from sliding. They sync to your phone like any other Bluetooth earbuds and with the Ozlo app you can customize them to your liking. You can have 10 sounds stored in the buds for sleep and 3 wake up alarms. You can choose how long the sound plays, so if you only need the sound to help you fall asleep, you can set it for as little as 15 minutes and it will stop playing the sound. They use their own alarm and not the alarm from your phone, so if you use it, they will gently start playing the alarm sound through the sleep buds. My biggest concern before getting them was comfort, I’ve been using foam ear plugs before I got these so having something in my ear when I sleep wasn’t a concern. Foam ear plugs is one thing, a set of ear buds is completely different, but I’m happy to say they are very comfortable and with the wing tips, they actually stay in all night unlike the foam ear plugs. In terms of battery life I’ve been able to use the sleepbuds three nights in a row before needing to charge the case. Sleeping from 12 to 8, the ear buds show about 15 to 20% left when I put them back in the case to charge. The Ozlo sleepbuds can give you back that good night sleep you’ve been missing, sure they’re not cheap but a good night sleep is invaluable!

Packaging Ozlo’s packaging is impressively well thought out. From the moment you open the box, clear arrows guide each step—removing the protective wrap, opening the sleepbuds case, and locating the charger tucked neatly inside. It’s intuitive and user-friendly, even for someone who doesn’t usually read instructions. The setup booklet is equally well-designed: clean, concise, and easy to follow without overwhelming you with tech jargon. Focus is on the user experience. Quality The build quality of the sleepbuds and case is exceptional. The case has a smooth, satisfying sliding mechanism that feels premium and durable. The sleepbuds themselves are made from a soft, flexible material that feels gentle against the skin. They come with a generous selection of replacement ear tips, allowing for a customized fit. Every detail—from the tactile feel of the case to the snug fit of the buds—reflects thoughtful engineering and high manufacturing standards. Comfort These are hands down the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever worn. They’re lightweight, easy to insert, and begin playing sound automatically once placed in the ear. I have very sensitive skin, and while I did experience some soreness after lying on one side for several hours, the overall comfort is impressive. I found myself switching sides during the night to relieve pressure, but I kept using them night after night because the sleep improvement was worth it. The tenderness fades quickly, and I suspect most users won’t experience this issue unless they have similarly sensitive skin. Benefits The Ozlo app is one of the best I’ve encountered—visually appealing, highly interactive, and packed with features. You can choose from a wide variety of soothing sounds and set your desired wake-up time with ease. The first night I used the sleepbuds, I was genuinely amazed. I’m a light sleeper, and my husband tends to stay up late, often moving around the kitchen or living room. Normally, I’d wake up multiple times from ambient noise. But with the sleepbuds in, I didn’t hear a single sound. The noise masking is incredibly effective, and the curated soundscapes are calming without being distracting. I woke up feeling more rested than I have in months. Overall I definitely recommend these sleepbuds. I hope they come out with a line or earbuds as well.

As a longtime user of Bose’s Sleepbuds, I found the Ozlo Sleepbuds to be a thoughtful evolution that adds smart upgrades and comfort. Comfort and fit are excellent. In-ear sleep aid devices are usually not the most comfortable for side sleepers like me, but these sit securely without pressing awkwardly against the pillow and I never wake up with sore ears. The buds ship with a sleek case that slides open to reveal status LEDs and charging slots for the buds. The case feels sturdy and compact and is small enough to travel easily. Multiple silicone ear tips are included, so it’s easy to find a fit that works. Setup is simple and quick. The case acts as both charger and bridge, since the buds themselves use Bluetooth Low Energy. Once paired through the companion app, I was able to choose from a large library of built-in sounds or stream my own music and podcasts. That last part is a big upgrade: being able to listen to my own audio makes them much more versatile than a typical off-the-shelf sound machine or past generations of Bose Sleepbuds. Sound quality is solid for their size and they block outside noise well. At lower volumes, I still noticed some faint muffled sounds like snoring, but turning the volume up a notch usually took care of it. The gentle alarm is another highlight as it wakes you up without disturbing anyone else in the room. Battery life easily covers a full night’s sleep, and recharging each morning keeps them ready to go. Overall, the Ozlo Sleepbuds are one of the most comfortable and functional solutions I’ve tried for better sleep. They improve on Bose’s already clever design, add the ability to play your own music, and remain comfortable even if you toss and turn. For light sleepers, frequent travelers, or anyone tired of being woken by noise, the Ozlo Sleepbuds are an easy recommendation.
