Patrick Sylvest - Sylvestrings - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Patrick Sylvest has been writing songs ever since he began to play the guitar as a teenager. He's performed in open mic's, restaurants, and small pubs and listening rooms for many years. Most recently, Patrick has opened shows for Guy Clark, Jack Williams, and Spencer Bohren at the Red Dragon Listening Room in Baton Rouge, LA. He is currently the Dobro and Mandolin player for 'Louisiana's Southernmost String Band', The MOSS PICKERS. This group can frequently be found a pickin' and a singin' at 'The Grapevine Cafe' and Gallery' in Donaldsonville, LA. The Moss Pickers feature Pat's son Matthew Sylvest on upright bass, Clay Parker on Guitar and Harmonica, and Billy Finney on Banjo and Guitar. To date they've released one EP simply titled, 'The Moss Pickers' (The Alligator Disc) 2009. The Moss Pickers have appeared at the Abita Springs Opry, the Angie Bluegrass Festival, the Foxworth, MS Bluegrass Festiva (Magnolia State Bluegrass Association)l, Lafayette, LA's Blue Moon Saloon, and many other south Louisiana venue's and festivals. Patrick's new for 2011, 'SYLVESTRINGS', features many musical friends as well as family members! He plays Guitar, Dobro, Mandolin, Acoustic Slide Guitar, and Lap Steel on 10 new original tunes as well as three borrowed from his brother's Tom and John, and the aforementioned, 'In the Garden'.
