Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo and Iced Coffee, Black - EP3241/74
A: I wondered the same thing before I purchased this machine, and I found a great video on YouTube with a Philips rep. On this model, Philips replaced the Americano button with an Iced Coffee button that brews espresso at a lower temperature with a longer pull (so it doesn't melt ice as quickly). However, a user may still make an Americano by brewing an espresso shot and then using the Hot Water button. For the full video, which also contains setup information, search YouTube for "Philips 3200 LatteGo & Iced Coffee Machine Review With a Coffee Expert." The Iced Coffee vs Americano button are discussed at 1:55.
Q: Can you program a time for the machine to automatically run?
A: No, that is a little annoying in the morning because it runs theough a clean cycle every time it is turned on. So if you are rushing and running late you have to wait for it, but the coffee it makes is so good its outweighing that.
A: The water nozzle is hidden behind the milk froth container. You need to remove the container to get hot water.
A: Yes, there is only one bean hopper. Expresso and Expresso + more water= americano. Expresso+ milk° cappuccino. Expresso with more milk= latte. Basically it's an Expresso machine that adds more water or milk
Q: How many Grams of ground coffee is the scoop suppose to carry?
A: The area has a mark filling it up to where it indicates
Q: What espresso beans & coffee brands have you discovered taste the best in this machine?
A: We have purchased the espresso blend from Freshroasted.com for several years. They are the best I have had. They are actually fresh roasted and sent to you.
Q: Is there a lid for the milk frothier?
A: And I use a cork at the container spout. Great idea!
