Everything you need is in the box. I don't know how I ever got by without these lights, Updates from HUE Labs lets you set new scenes and moods. You can set your lights to play different colors or just wake up when you do. Turn off when you leave or arrive home. The colors are rich and the whites are warm and also cool and bright. Bright as a 75watt lamp. Your going to wish you ordered more after you get this home. Works with Apple Home App and Siri. Come with a hub, set up is easy. You will need need is WiFi to set it up.

These Hue lights have seriously changed my mental health/life for the better. They help me with more than I ever dreamed. I was interested in them when they just came out (1st Gen.) after a friend of mine got them! Boy, they have grown up, I picked up the 3rd Gen at Best Buy, and they know when I leave my room have over 200 3rd party iOS apps and Android apps that allow for syncing to video, music, helping you wake up the things this 3rd generation kit can do is phenomenal.

We placed these in our pendant lights in our kitchen and they have been awesome! We got them when we got the Amazon Echo, so we can tell Alexa to turn them on and off. It's fun to be able to set them to different colors and scenes (Christmas colors are what I show in the picture) and have them turn on and off hands free!

It provides bright and vibrant colors. Works best when you hardwire the light switch to the on position and place a hue dimmer switch over it. This will allow it to remember the color you last used while giving you quick and easy everyday access. I also heard Alexa & Siri work well to control the lights.

The hue lights work better than anticipated. Very easy to setup, easy to use, and gives off a very nice vibe. The hue app is not the app to use however. Huemote is better

I loved the concept of this sort of lighting system but I also love the color blue to set some moods. The 3rd generation allows a broader spectrum of color, and the installation is a breeze. Well worth the price to start and build your system.

I love my Phillips hue bulbs. Once in a rare while they don’t respond as they should but typically they I love my Phillips hue bulbs. Once in a rare while they don’t respond as they should but 95% of the time they work great. I use them in tandem with the hue app, smartthings, alexa and the google home assistant. Alexa is pretty great but i do find that google offers more of a range when requesting different colors. Also sometimes when tuning them to particularly rich colors they are not as bright as one might hope… Otherwise they’re pretty amazing and great for setting the mood!

After much deliberation on these bulbs, I pulled the trigger, but lo and behold, when my order reaches me, I get what you see in the pictures. The exterior shipping box was fine, but the interior box looked like the one in the picture, and when I opened the box, I get one broken bulb. That means it had to have been like that when it was packaged and shipped out. VERY disappointed in you Best Buy!

I love these light bulbs. I originally bought them to simply have then wake me up in the morning, and now I have them all over my house. These bulbs can produce the full range of white light, from yellowish light, clear bright day light, and blue-ish white light. Additionally, they can produce 16 million colors. The bulbs are instant-on LEDs, and can be dimmed from on a scale from 0% (being off) to 100% (which is full brightness). The dimming of the lights is controlled through the free Phillips Hue app (both for Android or Apple iOS), so these lights do not need to be connected to a hard-wired dimmer. None of my lamps, lights, or light switches in my house have dimmers, but now that I have the Phillips Hue bulbs I can dim any light that has a Phillips Hue light bulb in it. These light bulbs are the equivalent to 60 watts traditional bulbs, but they actually only use 10 watts because they are LED. Technically they emit 800 lumens of light at 100% brightness. Before I bought these I was concerned about having the Phillips Hub control the lights, but now I am glad there is a hub. The Phillips Hue lights do not use Wifi, but use another wireless communication standard called ZigBee. ZigBee is separate from Wifi and does not interfere with Wifi signal. Additionally, having the Phillips Hue lights connect through a hub is more secure then having light bulbs that directly connect to a Wifi router.

With a background in technology, I was hoping to add some smart features to my house. I had already purchased a Google Home and was enjoying being able to talk with the Google Assistant to learn whatever information I was hoping to obtain, and enjoyed asking her to play my playlists off of Spotify. The next step for me was smart lighting, and I'm glad I didn't look much further than the Philips Hue System. The bridge was extremely easy to install and to add to my existing wifi network and once I downloaded the app I was off to the races. I enjoy the ability to set moods with certain colored lights, and with the Google Home, it's very simple to ask it to change my light colors, brightness, and to change the lights' status to on/off. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for something a little more fun than standard lighting. Something else to consider, there are several third party apps that are compatible with this system. Some will allow the lights to pulse with peak changes in music, and If This Than That (IFTTT) has created applets that allow certain words and phrases to trigger the lights in particular ways, along with cool addons. For instance, when it begins to rain outside my lights automatically turn blue, and whenever my Uber arrives to pick me up for a night out, all of my lights begin to flash to alert me they have arrived. Very cool, lots of fun.

There are too many colors to pick from but this the coolest lightning ever. Each bulb can be it’s own color and you can control it via the Hue app. You can create rooms and assigns them to bulbs. Very nifty stuff. Pairs well with google Home + IFTTT or Alexa devices.

Overall a 4 out of 5. Pros: color options, value of kit contents, security framework, adding additional products was easy. Cons: app not great considering expense, first setup was a pain, small adjustment if color is very difficult, expense of additional bulbs or other hardware, I have to have my phone with me to turn on the lights when I go upstairs. I love this affordable kit and the fact that I could start upgrading my light bulbs as I can. If money was no object I'd upgrade everything, but I can't justify the cost of these just on fun factor or convenience. I love being able to change the color based on mood or what I'm doing. When the sun goes down while I'm working, I can turn on the light without getting up and losing track of what I was doing. The biggest challenges I have so far are the expense of additional bulbs or other hardware and the fact that I have to have my phone with me to turn on the lights when I go upstairs for something. The app seems to have trouble connecting most of the time, especially if I'm on a call. I need to be able to turn on my lamp and talk on the phone at the same time. It's almost impossible to make slight adjustments to color through the app. I'd expect better at this price point.

Philips Hue multicolor lights are a must have for any room in your house. They are great for gaming rooms because of the mood they set in the room. This was my first hue purchase and I’ve already purchased more light bulbs for other rooms in my house and purchased the multicolor strips and placed it behind the tv in the gaming room which makes the wall look phenomenal. The millions of colors to choose from work for any occasion and are easily changeable through the hue app. This was such a great purchase and comes with everything needed to initally setup your home. Installing the lights is as simple as screwing in the bulbs to your already existing lights outlets and then assign the bulbs to a room on the hue app.

I'd been reading about these for about a year but couldn't quite force myself to take the plunge. While at work recently the topic of smart bulbs came up: and I decided to finally go buy some and try them out. Setup is as simple as can be. Just make sure that you have an Ethernet port free on your modem/router for the Hue hub; and download the Hue app (there are apparently some other compatible apps you can choose; but Hue has been sufficient for me). Screw in the bulbs, turn on the lamps, plug in the hub, and launch the app so it can walk you through connecting. The colors - the colors! I get much joy from being able to tweak and set some oil-paintish tones from the bulbs in my living room, to set a mood for whatever I am watching on TV or may be reading while slouching on the sofa. But the best thing for me is timing the lights to fade on. My work schedule is a little inconsistent: certain days I work later into the evening, whereas some days I work day shifts. Using the Hue app I can schedule the lights to fade on a few minutes before I arrive home at night - so I'm not stepping into darkness and fumbling for the light switch.. Of course with the Hue app installed on your smartphone you can just cut them on when you reach your door, but I prefer having them power on automatically. I was so pleased with these that I opted to buy more Hue bulbs and set them up in my bedroom. Sadly I have to admit these are pricey: while I have the Hue White and Color bulbs in my living room, I have just the Hue White ones in my bedroom. But being able to fade them off as I start to fall asleep - and setting a warm & soft dimness for when I'm curled up listening to the radio - made the purchase worthwhile to me. These Hue bulbs have had an impact on reducing my stress level and that's been a blessing.
