Q: What does it mean with free installation?
A: It means Best Buy will install it into your car for free. However chances are they may add fees for extra supplies. I went to Crutchfield and ordered the extra pieces myself and they got it done for me.
Q: Can you put the gps from your phone on this head unit?
A: Yes, you plug your phone cord into the supplied usb input and then plug in your phone. If you have an iPhone then Apple car play will come up, if you have an Android then android auto will start up. From there just click on the map icon and your maps will be displayed on the screen
A: Both you can turn the camera on manually and it will come on when you put it in reverse
A: I was able to retain steering wheel controls by using an after market harness
Q: Does this have a back up camera? If not can you suggest one that does around the same price
A: This unit does not come with a back up camera. But, it the built in capability to add a camera. They cost about $30.00. You would have to research the market to see if any units come with a camera.
Q: How does the free installation go?, will BestBuy contact me?, will I pay for any extra items?
A: You have to set up an appointment with bestbuy for the free install. They can tell you what other items you will need such a harnesses etc.
A: Get the emergency break bypass. It’s like 10 dollars and it will fix this problem
A: Yes it will work with your car but if you want to use NAV you have to plug either your iPhone or your Android phone in using the supplied cord. Yes Best Buy will install in an older vehicle. My friend had them install this same head unit in his 2004 Silverado. I installed it myself in my 06 Silverado.
