PS5 Slim Pro Review — Is It Really Worth the Upgrade? After spending a couple weeks with the PS5 Slim Pro, I can say this: it feels like the PlayStation 5 that the original wanted to be. It’s not a total game-changer, but it’s definitely smoother, faster, and built for people who actually care about getting the best visuals possible out of their setup. Performance and Graphics The first thing I noticed is how much steadier the frame rates are. Games that used to dip a bit on the regular PS5 — like Cyberpunk 2077 or Horizon Forbidden West — now hold 60fps much more comfortably, and ray tracing looks cleaner too. Sony’s new upscaling tech (PSSR) is surprisingly good; it makes older or non-native 4K games look sharper without feeling artificial. It’s not mind-blowing, but once you go back to the regular PS5, you can tell something’s missing. Design and Build Physically, it’s basically the PS5 Slim with some minor tweaks — same sleek design, a little quieter, and it doesn’t heat up as much even during longer sessions. It still doesn’t include a disc drive, though, which feels cheap considering the price. You can buy one separately, but come on, Sony. Storage and Speed The built-in 2TB SSD is a big win. Finally, I don’t have to play “which game do I uninstall this week.” Load times are still lightning fast, but that’s nothing new — the PS5 was already great there. Price and Who It’s For At around $699, it’s not a small upgrade. If you’re playing on a 4K TV with 120Hz support or you care about getting every drop of performance, the PS5 Slim Pro makes sense. You’ll notice the difference. But if you’re just playing casually on a 60Hz TV, the jump from the Slim isn’t going to feel life-changing. The regular PS5 Slim still delivers a fantastic experience for most players. Final Thoughts The PS5 Slim Pro isn’t revolutionary — it’s more like a “PS5 perfected.” It’s quieter, faster, and a little more future-proof. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone, but for serious players who want smoother visuals and more consistent performance, it’s absolutely worth it. If you’re upgrading from the original PS5 or Slim, you won’t be disappointed — just be ready to pay for that extra polish.

I really love my new PS5 it is super sleek and very fast. The graphics are amazing. I have recently switched from my Xbox and I really love this machine. I’d give it a 10 out of 10. Also, I’d like to give a shout out to Best Buy. I ordered this and it was delivered for free the same day. It came within three hours to my house. Amazing service from Best Buy.

Nice upgrade from my PS4, no more storage issues and performs much better and faster. Able to play with friends and house all my games with no worries, 10/10. Got the digital slim version with a pink controller on top of what it came with. Controllers are super nice, too, overall would recommend.

Great gaming console that looks nice on the shelf. This has been a game changer for me. Being able to watch Streaming Services, play music and podcast and connect to my plex media server are all a bonus. The PlayStation 5 is honestly the coolest console I’ve ever played. The graphics are insane—it feels like you’re actually inside the game—and the load times are so fast, you barely even have to wait. You know I never reveled this info before but I've personally owned every Playstation consoles (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and now the PS5) with the exception of the 1st Playstation console before PS1. It's now part of my collection of gaming consoles that I've grew up and I love it. I'm becoming a full time gamer with one of the hottest consoles on the market. I can say that I'm ready for the Playstation 6 when it comes available in the near future but I still will have my PS5, which I play almost daily. Piece of advice, buy this console nearly everybody got one and in my case my brother and I each have one.
