I read a lot fo the reviews about this item before I bought it. And, to be honest up front, I was buying it for it's "Cool!" factor. And that is definitely 5 stars! The speaker quality probably is really about 3 stars. It wasn't too bad, but I have bought $39.99 speakers that were every bit as good. But none of them levitated like this Death Star! It does take some time to get it floating. The magets are quite strong and it has to be exactly in the right spot to levitate. Otherwise, it just "jumps out of orbit" and crashes into the base. It does come with a plastic guide to help you get it in place. And once you have it figured out, it isn't too bad. The speaker itself is made out of plastic, but it seems pretty durable. The sound is not great, but not bad. But if you are buying this for a Star Wars fan, it will be appreciated!

The speaker is very cool as a desk ornament/conversation starter. The sound isn't bad for the size of the speaker. The main attraction is the levitation though. Once the platform is on and you use the guide, it's actually pretty easy to get it levitating.

This is for hardcore fans due to price if you pay full price. The asking price for what this does is really not worth it imo. The sound is alright and the floating is cool, but it doesn't light up and when it's not being used it's not supposed to be floating so you have a $150 paper weight if you pay full price, which I thankfully didn't do.

Got it for my uncle, and I ended up liking it alot. The levitation is hard to get going but stays up when you do get it.

The sound sucks for the price. Not loud at all. Sounds metallic. Also the instructions say to not keep the power on to keep it floating when not in use. This basically takes the display aspect away from it

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, since '77, but it's hard for me to endorse this product as a speaker. Design alone would be 5 stars. It's very cool, it levitates and spins all on it's own. You do have to use the plastic sleeve to get it just right, but it's easy if you follow directions. The problem is the speaker. Now granted, I'm comparing it to a Bose Soundlink, so it's not really fair. But it doesn't have much depth or get very loud. If you're getting it for the novelty and the speaker as a second thought, then it's a good buy. If you're looking for a Bluetooth speaker, as much as I'd love to, it's just hard to endorse.

Great this is! The Death Star is a perpetual motion machine. LOVE how it keeps rotating in the air. And the music quality is EXCELLENT!

Great speakers and the floating effect is really cool! It takes a little talent to get the Death Star to float, but honestly it isn't that hard with the included collar. Great product, I would recommend it to any other fan!

Took a bit of work to get it working because my computer at work didn't have Bluetooth built in, but now it works great. Everyone notices it and the speaker quality is better than my old plug-in speaker/subwoofer combo.

The levitating speaker looks great. It is easy to set up and use. However, the sound quality is not great. If you are looking for great sound, look elsewhere. But, if you are looking for a very cool conversation starter, this might work for you.

This speaker is awesome! It has high-quality sound even while spinning around. My husband loves it.
