A: Your Recovery drive is not supposed to be anything other that a Recovery drive. I create a Recovery drive when I buy the machine and keep it with the receipts and booklets that come with the machine in a plastic bag. This I have this flash drive for backups or file copies. Works good for me.

A: Hi, I can't speak to the longevity of this device, but if I were you, I'd stick with the devices that have proven, long term warranties. And ALWAYS back up your work to multiple devices. If it's on an SD card, leave it there. Copy that to a hard drive or some flash storage and make another copy to another device. If you have had good luck with SanDisk and their warranty, I'd just keep working with those. They are an excellent brand, typically. Good luck.
