I purchased this for a preteen for an intro to horror movies. I knew of the movie for its an old time favorite of many. It worked out great and so was the price of the DVD.

Still a spook classic just as hood today as yesterday. Regarding heading. Heather O Rourke played Carol Ann and died way 2 young .....great cast great movie

Like the face that launched a thousand ships this Speilberg backed serio comic thriller gave horror films the suspencefull tweak they needed. Its spawned many imitators but this simple little scary masterpiece rocks With a strong cast of talented men and woman led by Craig T Nelson and JoBeth Williams we are huddled close to our partner and on pins and needles while poor little carol ann converses with the people who inhabit the snowwy white screen that us gen xers remember concluded our broadcast day DONT GO INTO THE LIGHT CAROL ANN do not go into the light whatever you do What the hell were they thinking building condos on an indian burial ground they had to know it was not going to end well. Watched the 2015 remake with my 22 yr old daughter, super excited it would be as scary as the original. Was thoroughly disappointed in it. Bought the original so she could see what it was really meant to be. She LOVED it!

This was one of the first horror movies I watched as a child and it was scary and amazing at the same time. The remake was terrible in comparison. Better graphics but that was all. You should always watch the original first!

This is a classic and I am pleased that I got it for my collection. If you have seen it before you'll still find it fun and exciting. If you haven't seen it I would recommend that you do. I am choosy but this is a keeper. The remastering made it that much more enjoyable. Great visual quality and sound.

Poltergeist is a must see for fans of 1980s horror movies. It is quite intense, but it is also a decent movie to introduce older kids to the horror genre. This DVD has a few decent special features, but is wouldn't hurt if it had a little more in the extras department.

I bought this for my teenage daughter to watch. She wanted to see what kind of movies I watched as a teenager. She was on the edge of her seat several times. Its nice to see this old film can still captivate an audience!

A well crafted, entertaining and scary film. A must for any collection. Movies from this era should never be attempted to be remade for "a new audience" they should just re-release them. They'd save a lot of time and heartache if they did.

We enjoyed this movie when we were kids and decided out kids were old enough to see. We're not into remakes of older movies so this was the version for us.

Hard to find but always a favorite and an anniversary addition is a bonus.

This movie is timeless, and still scares me till this day. Great combination of the truly scary, with a bit of humor thrown in... A true original story.

I love how they portray the poltergeist and the dvd extras are good. They explain thr true phenomenons of hauntings, ghosts and poltergeist.

You cant go wrong with this one! A great movie when released and still holds ground as a classic!

This was a great buy! I love scary movies and this has always been a favorite of mine. Great addition to my forever growing "Bump in the Night" section.

Hadn't seen this movie in forever, and it was just as good as it was the first time. Scary, and suspenseful.
