Questions & Answers
I have a Honeywell smart thermostat. Will this work for that thermostat brand as well or does it only work on Ecobee?
Answered by ecobeeThanks for reaching out. Our Power Extender Kit is only compatible with ecobee smart thermostats.
The wall mounted thermostat only has two wires connecting to the old nest thermostat, Your illustration shows 4 wires connecting to the new thermostat I thought the PEK used only two wires at the unit the reason for the extender?
Answered by ecobeeThanks for reaching out! It sounds like you may have a heat-only system, if you only have two wires. If this is the case, the PEK is not compatible, our PEK requires a "Y" wire, which connects to a compressor. We'd love to support you further with this! Can you reach out so we can determine the best solution for creating a "C" connection, which will be required to use an ecobee. You can give us a call at 1-877-932-6233 (or 647-428-2220 if you’re outside North America). Our team is also online Monday to Friday from 8 am to 11 pm EST, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 9pm EST to answer your questions at https://support.ecobee.com/s/contactsupport
