This movie looks so gorgeous and we absolutely loved the steel book packaging. So happy we managed to get it before the great movie purge of best buy!

If you're a fan of Studio Trigger, the developers that started with Gurren Lagann (when they were still with Gainax) Kill la Kill, Darling in the Franxx, and BNA: Brand New Animal, then you should already know what you're getting into. The story is simple and predictable, but that's not exactly a bad thing. What makes Studio Trigger Studio Trigger is the in your face animation. Visually, it's what to expect from Studio Trigger; over the top action, extremely colorful, however it's a beautiful blend of 2D and 3D transition. In my opinion, this is their best work so far. As far as the dub goes, it's great. Billy Kametz is someone people might have not heard of, but he's great as the protagonist, Galo Thymos. Johnny Yong Bosch plays Lio Fotia who really gets to do it all with his variety of voice. I think the one voice actor that shines the most is Crispin Freeman as Kray Foresight, who also has that variety in his voice. The extras have a roundtable with Studio Trigger, and interview with director Hiroyuki Imaishi, a Q and A with some of the dub voice actors and the short films Side: Galo and Side: Lio. My only real complaint is that the Steelbook doesn't come with anything else other than the blu-ray and dvd. The soundtrack would have been awesome to have because the music is incredible. If you're not a steelbook person, the regular copy is fine, as you're only paying a few more bucks for the steelbook. Overall, Studio Trigger fans should check this out. I can't wait for their next work.

This movie made by Studio Trigger is awesome! I watched it twice in theaters and had to add it to my collection. From strat to finish it is a thrill ride. The colors and animation style are very unique and add to the overall feel of the movie. It is definitely unique. The sound track is amazing. It really goes hand in hand with the action. The action is a joy to watch. All of these aspects combine to make a very entertaining and and worthwhile experience. The story is good. The character designs have elements of previous characters like Kamina from Gurren Lagann and other Studio Trigger works. If you like those then you'll love this. Just buy it. You won't be disappointed. If you can get the steelbock it's worth it. It has embossed letters on it.

I originally rented this movie but decided to purchase it because I ended up watching it numerous times before my rental period expired! The Steelbook is a great deal, especially when Best Buy occasionally gives out $5 off coupons or if you have rewards. It comes with both the DVD and BluRay, and the short side prequels are available to watch on the DVD (I haven’t checked the BluRay yet but I assume they’re on there also.) This was one of the motivating reasons I decided to purchase the physical copy and I’m happy I did because I was able to watch the bonus features on the DVD and not just the BluRay. The inside housing of the case is a fantastic choice from the movie, and the discs feature photos of both Lio and Galo. All around a great purchase and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a movie that keeps you at the edge of your seat, an amazing soundtrack, and cool box art.

I’m extremely biased and love everything Hiroyuki Imaishi has directed. Whether it be his Gainax days (Gurren Lagann or Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt) or his Studio Trigger days (Kill la Kill or Space Patrol Luluco) I end up enjoying it immensely. Promare has become another enjoyable feature for me as well. Also, if you’ve watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann then you may remember the quote “ If there's a wall in our way, then we smash it down! If there isn't a path then we carve one ourselves! The magma of our souls burns with a mighty flame! Gurren Lagann! Just who in the hell do you think we are!?”. Well there’s a similar quote about burning souls. If you’re wondering why Galo looks like Kamina from TTGL, then just know Trigger brought up Imaishi’s drawings prior to TTGL and he just really loves that hairstyle and things it “cool”.

I absolutely ADORE this movie. I originally watched it in theaters and fell in love with the beautiful animation and captivating color scheme. It was delightful to find out that it would come to Blu-ray/DVD and I was ecstatic when I saw such a cool case design! And it did not disappoint in any way. It's incredibly sturdy with nice details and even the inside discs have characters featured on them. The movie itself has a great balance of humorous and serious moments. The soundtrack is so catchy and helps draw you into the story. As someone who gets super invested in movies, I was bouncing along in my seat until the very end! I have nothing but high praises for this movie and the copy I received thoroughly satisfied me in every way. I couldn't be happier with it.

Studio Trigger returns to make a great anime movie! The animation is the usual style in its crazy dynamic gloriousness with lots of bright colors and distinct linework. The soundtrack accompanying the movie is also great and will probably make you jam away as the movie plays on. The plot is pretty squished and limited by the typical anime movie length, and leaves more to be desired. We can all pray and hope that some continuation of expansion is being considered for the Promare universe one day for all the fans who love the movie. The BestBuy steelbook is also a nifty collector's item and just looks nice overall. It's definitely a good addition for any collection. :)

I got this movie on a whim and I was extremely, pleasantly surprised. The animations for this film was insane- things flying everywhere, great action scenes, and bright colors. The brief synopsis is that there are a separate species of humans that are condemned among society. So, there's a battle between these two races. The steelbook case is a perfect representative of the film. If you like crazy, colorful action films then I highly recommend this!

I saw Promare in theaters when it premiered in US and since then I wanted to own it on blu ray to share it with my friends. Some time has passed and now I have it! This release is a great reproduction of the film and looks wonderful on the right TV. Everything is clear, loud, and entertaining. The steelbook is one of the few I've purchased and not been immediately irritated due to it showing up damaged. I'd definitely recommend anybody pick this up if they want an entertaining movie to watch.

Excellent movie. The visuals are stunning, the music is hype, and it feels like you've just been on a thrilling trip afterwards. I was ready to watch it all over again as soon as the credits rolled. I don't typically like rewatching movies I've seen recently, but I could definitely watch this one over and over again. Purchasing this from Best Buy was easy and they even price-matched it for me with no hassle. It shipped and arrived quickly.

This movie is insanely good. I was completely blown away by this movie. I am a huge fan of Imaishi and this is a true culmination of all his work. Only his team of ridiculously talented and dedicated people could pull this movie off. Seriously go watch this movie. The steelbook is nice and goes really well with all my other Promare things. I would highly recommend watching this movie and buying this steelbook version

I absolutely love Promare. The art is stunning and the story line is really fun. The SteelBook is also really cool and sleek. As a casual anime watcher I didn't feel lost, and it's nice that it's just one solid story via a movie as opposed to a series that you can potentially get lost with. Straightforward and in your face. I recommend this film to all my friends and anyone who wants to watch something beautiful.

This is the best movie you will ever watch in your entire life. I was lucky enough to see it in theaters and I knew the second afterwards I was going to buy it on DVD to have it forever. If you haven't already seen it - I recommend it to anyone! It is action packed and full of crazy good mecha fights. The animation is just other-worldly.

The story may be a little trite but the overall package is put together so well that any of the minor issues are of no consequence. The animation and art, music, and voice acting all blend in together so well that this is worth watching for anyone remotely interested or reading this review. The steelbook is also well done for this release.

I never got the chance to see it in the movie theater last year because it was limited release. So I saw they release a steelbook edition that I definitely had to pick up asap. This anime movie is very colorful with has a lot of action that suck you right into the movie. Any anime fan should get this movie and you will not regret it.

If you're a fan of Gurren Laggan or Studio Trigger, chances are pretty good that you'll enjoy this film. First, a little history. Hiroyuki Imaishi once worked with many other talented people at Gainax, the studio best known for Neon Genesis Evangelion. In 1995, Hiroyuki Imaishi began his career at Gainax, working as a Key Animator on Evangelion. In 2011, he and others from Gainax decided to form their own Animation company, Studio Trigger. In under a decade, they've produced many popular shows. A few examples: Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia and SSSS. Gridman. If you enjoy any of those, you'll enjoy this film. Highly Recommend.

Promare was a really good anime, it had major gurren lagaan vibes and had a kill la kill type of art style. he premise was good, and i liked how it ended. overall, im glad i bought it! fun fact: the voice actor interview bonus feature is funny because one of the actors has terrible taste in pizza.

Favorite anime, favorite movie. Very bright, colorful, and packed with action to an amazing soundtrack. I bought it three times with the original JP Collector's Edition and a digital copy the day of NA release - this one from BestBuy never arrived though so I don't recommend buying it here.
