Bottom line, the controller is great. If this item ever drops to $150 pick it up immediately. It isn't without fault, but even after writing this review I'm still in love with the Wolverine V2. Pros: increadibly comfortable, great grip feel, responsive, good paddle placement (and they are perminant features), very durable, esthetically pleasing, longer battery life than the duel sense. It is a premium product (and for $250 it better be). I have a wrist/hand injury that makes playing video games painful. I was shocked at how comfortable this is to use, it has probably more than doubled how long I can play before I have to stop. Cons: price point misses the mark by a wide margin. Ridiculous price for a controller, especially when the Xbox version is $150. Bonkers. Bluetooth pairing. Maybe it's me but it unpaired occasionally and I haven't figured out how to pair it so it can turn on the consol. It may be easy to do, but it isn't already configured to do that. (This and the price are the only major-minuses) Battery life (better than fuel sense but still sucks), and for the black model the button markers are hard to see in less than perfect light.

Great for fighters games. Ps5 controller didn’t get my input correctly while using d-pad. I almost got a fight stick instead but I’m so use to controller so I decide try this for a fighting game and it work great. Read all my inputs correctly and no issue right now. Too pricey for a controller that don’t at least come with a bag but I still loving it

Razer has quickly become one of the most recognizable brands in the computer gaming sector. When I think of their products now, they're more modern than the years past, when they popularized obnoxious RGB lights on their products. Sure, that image is basically a meme now with gaming set-ups, but most serious gamers are doing away with the array of lights in exchange for quality parts that last longer than 10 months. The Wolverine V2 Pro Wireless Gaming controller feels hefty in quality and so far makes me confident it'll last a while. Throughout the years, I've been a controller enthusiast with consoles, and have gotten the Xbox Elite (both version 1 & 2) controllers, along with the Playstation 5's Scuff Reflex Pro. Once you experience controllers like that, you won't want to go back to others. For me it's mainly about the weight and the comfort of them in hand. The Wolverine V2 lives up to that hype, but I still can't get over the price. The V2 Pro retails at $250. That's half the amount you'd need to purchase a PS5! Comparing that with the Xbox Elite V2 ($180) and the Scuff Pro ($199), you'd need a big reason to purchase this one over some of the other options. Also, if you enjoy the rumble of the Dual Sense or the Xbox Elite V2 for your computer gaming, you'll be sad to hear there is no rumble option on the Wolverine V2. There is however, RGB lights that can be configured in an accompanied app. Now, I don't personally care about the lights. Is it a nice touch? Sure, but is it worth the additional money? I don't think so. If I had it my way, I'd use the Xbox Elite controller for all my gaming needs, but for the PS5? I don't think you can sacrifice the rumble. That is after all, one of the biggest features of the PS5. Keep in mind however, the Scuff Pro doesn't rumble either. There is one aspect of the Wolverine V2 that is worth mentioning in bold letters. The battery life is great. Unlike the standard PS5 controllers, these will hold a charge for more than several days. I've had some very bad luck with the standard PS5 controllers having some pretty bad longevity when gaming for a few hours. Getting back to the accompanying app - it's a bare bones app, but you can remap buttons and change a few options with the RGB lights. That's about it. I'm not sure what you'd want more from the app, but I really wish the rumble was an option you'd be able to turn off or no. That way "serious" gamers or those of us who want extended battery life can choose to turn it off.

One of the best controllers I ever bought works great on the PS5. And the pc I just wish. They had a p c app, so I can change the colors instead of using the mobile app

The Razor Wolverine V2 PRO ps5 controller is probably one of the best controllers to use for pc and ps5 gaming. It's similar to its older brother the chroma for xbox. They are almost the same, they have similar layouts with the analog sticks being that of the xbox layout rather than the playstation's analog stick layout. Also the PRO is wireless which means that you don't have to worry about a wire while playing.The PRO has two different triggers that you can switch between on the fly with the slider on the back the two triggers being the regular analog triggers and the mouse triggers which greatly reduces the travel time to almost nothing. Also there are swappable analog stick heads which are easily swappable and connected by magnets. The controller has 6 extra buttons 2 next to the triggers and 4 on the back which is great for mapping out actions in games and creating a really great customizable experience for gaming. The rgb is great but I prefer to keep it off just to save on battery. But the only way to map out the buttons and turn off the rgb is by using the razor controller app on your phone connecting your controller by putting it on wireless mode and following the steps on the app to pair your controller. The layout of the 6 mappable buttons are a little awkward to wrap your hand around but with time you will get comfortable with them. There is a missing function in the pro that the regular ps5 has that being the haptic feedback triggers, and vibrations which for me aren't a deal breaker. The d-pad on the controller is really clicky and responsive and it being a 8-way d-pad it's easy to move diagonally in 2D games. Now in game use on the controller is responsive whether wired or wireless and great for any game that you would want to play. FPS shooters are best suited for this controller since there is a long analog stick option which is great for precision shots in games. Also fighting games are great for the controller since the mappable buttons are easy to reach and help you create layouts that help you do insane combos easier. The pc functionality with the controller is a nice bonus since you can play games on your computer wired or wireless. The controller is bulky as a side effect of having an actual battery rather than being wired, but for me I like the heavier feel of the controller. The controller has an incredible battery that in normal use you will never need to worry about with it being about 10 hours of battery with the rgb on and 28 hours with the rgb off. The build quality is superb and feels great in the hands. There are some negatives to this controller that really don't make sense is the lack of a case to store the extra accesories, which can be easily lost . Also having to download an app on your phone is annoying and makes this officially licensed controller feel unofficial. The Wolverine V2 PRO is a great ps5 and pc controller that I would recommend to everyone who wants a “PRO” controller for their ps5 and especially a wireless controller.

I had no issues with these controllers actually they were so far the best controller for my PS5 and I haven’t used another one yet

The controller is great, everything is mouse click and hyper responsive giving a good advantage over most players.

I’ll get down to it, the Wolverine v2 excels in some areas compared to the competition but falls way short or completely omits some functionality altogether. - No rumble or haptics. Guess that’s on me but I never expected a 3rd party controller to completely remove such an important feature. When I game on PC or PS5 with a GamePad the main reason is because I want that rumble and feedback immersion. Totally gone on this unit. - Wider design but lightweight. The Wolverine v2 is for bigger hands and the hand grips are more barrel shaped than the DualSense PS5 or XBox controllers. The controller is also lighter I am guessing due to the lack of rumble and haptic components and maybe battery size. - The buttons and dpad feel amazing. Clicky like mechanical buttons. The triggers and bottom buttons don’t feel nearly as good and the positioning of the bottom feel really weird and too close to the middle of the controller. I prefer the XBox Elite design where they allow you to squeeze against the handgrip. The thumb sticks also feel very precise with tight controls near center and less dead zone. I guess that is the goal to be more accurate but no haptics, but personally if I want accuracy especially on PC I am using a mouse and keyboard. - Required a dongle to connect to both PC and PS5. It doesn’t use BT or the proprietary Sony connection so you have to use the RF dongle which is kinda large. You also need to toggle between PC and PS5 with a slider on the back. Same thing for wired vs wireless, which is USBC at least. With all these sliders I worry about something going haywire down the road. - Build quality is outstanding but there’s no case and just a two stick replacements included. Both Sony Edge and Microsoft Elite offer a case and lots more customization options. So that’s it in a nutshell, hard to justify buying this over the competition especially at the price point.

The best thing this controller has going for it is how well built it feels. It is just a great design. I have fairly large hands, and while the PS5 controller isn’t bad by any means, this just feels better and more comfortable in my hands. However, keep in mind Razer has followed the “xbox” / “nintendo pro” controller style of analog stick layout, where those sticks are not in the middle like they have been on PlayStation consoles for many years now. I game on multiple systems and it is second nature, but it could throw some users off a bit. Another thing that is great with this controller is how much better the battery life is in comparison to the PS5 DualSense controller that comes with the PS5, or especially the newer PS5 DualSense Edge controllers which have even less gaming time per charge. I seem to be getting over 20 hours per charge if I do not use the RGB controller lighting. If you use the lighting you will cut your battery down to closer to the stock PS5 DualSense of around 8-10 hours. This controller requires the included USB dongle to work on either the PS5 or the PC side, with a switch. My biggest gripe of all with this controller is that it just is not worth the asking price. It just isn’t priced well enough considering the DualSense Edge, also a very expensive pro controller, has rumble, haptic feedback on the triggers, back buttons, and the dualsense edge also has user replaceable stick modules. The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro only comes with swappable thumbstick caps for the sticks (the smaller rubber caps on top of the sticks). This is nice, but not as nice as being able to replace the entire stick modules. I would prefer to be able to keep a controller of this value around for as long as I can. Otherwise, while this is a really nice controller, it falls just short of being a recommendation considering how much more expensive it is than other pro controllers.

The Dualsense controller causes me serious hand and wrist pain after just 15 or 20 minutes of game time, I have never experienced this with any Playstation controller before. I've always loved Xbox controllers but preferred PS over Xbox consoles, so I was willing to give this one a shot even though the price tag is border line ridiculous. I'm happy to say that the hand and wrist pain is gone, I don't really use the extra buttons but my schmedium sized hands have no problem reaching and actuating them if needed. I've always turned off rumble and I tried out all of the Dualsense haptic feedback features at first but IMO these are just gimmicks and turned them off, so these features are not missed. The one thing that kept me from purchasing the Razer for so long is a few mentions of stick deadzones but after playing for a week I've yet to see an issue, the slightest movement of the joystick corresponds to character movement on screen for me. I'm starting to wonder if this thing is just getting review bombed??? I do play at a desk and use the provided USB cable though, so I can't provide any feedback for the dongle. The buttons are super responsive and I absolutely love the clicky feel, especially in the triggers when set to hair trigger. All in all if you are like me and the stock PS5 controller is causing you pain and you can get past the high price, this is a very comfortable controller worth looking at.

It feels a little different in hand for me, but I like how it feels. The grip supports are textured so it doesn’t slide easily out of hands. I didn’t get fatigued and it’s not heavy. It’s a plastic body but it’s sturdy. The build and design are nice and I love the ambient rgb led lights surrounding the body. I also like the black on black, which allows the light effects really stand out. The controls are smooth and I like the haptic response on some of the buttons. You can lock some of the triggers allowing for more resistance. It comes with two interchangeable thumbsticks. I wish there were more options with the thumbsticks. They are easy to switch as they have magnetic attachments. My games of choice are racing and fighting games. I find the overall gameplay to be smooth and I haven’t experienced any lags or dropouts during gameplay. I don’t like the button/trigger placements on the bottom of the controller. For me it’s not so much of a problem to reach but for someone with smaller hands, or kids it’s a difficult reach. My son who has smaller hands had trouble reaching those triggers comfortably. This type of controller is also a learning curve for his pc gameplay. Another dislike is that you have to use the mobile app to configure the buttons and lights to your liking for the controller, instead of their dashboard for pc which is where we have our other Razer products set up and it would’ve been nice to be able to add and control from there as well. The cord is a bit short in my opinion but glad that it works wirelessly so I don’t see it being a problem for most gameplay. But if the cord is attached you have to be super close and that’s a no go. To use it wirelessly it comes with a dongle attachment. Overall, it’s a nice controller but there may be better options for the price.

Purchased after seeing another review on here mentioning it helped with their hand pain from using a PS5 controller. It indeed got rid of the sharp pain I was getting between thumb and index finger. At $250 it’s a hard sell though if buying for any other reason there’s better options at this price point in the original Dual Sense form factor. If that form factor is causing you hand pain then this is the only real solid option I could find. As others have mentioned it lacks the haptics and rumble. The app for it is lack luster compared to the Elite Series configuration options, and the app is also only tied to your phone. Razer has released its all-new Wolverine V2 Pro Wireless gaming controller for PS5/PC. This is Razer's high-end controller that they are trying to sell for both PC games and consoles, this one specifically for the PS5/PC. The box includes the controller, 4.5-ft USB-to-USBC nylon cable, USB transmitter/receiver, 1 extra concave knob, 1 extra convex knob, stickers, and quick user guide. The controller comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty. PROS: ----------- * It's a great-looking controller in general. The lighting on the controller can be adjusted to nearly any color and can be set to be ON/OFF, BREATHE ON/OFF, 1 solid color, or simply randomize through the spectrum of colors available via the Razer app. * It can be used on both a PS5 or PC * L1/R1 trigger buttons can be quickly set to full-pull or 1/4-pull with the sliding of 2 different switches on the back of the controller. This is definitely beneficial for different types of gaming needs (ie. shooter vs racing). * Controller can be wired or wireless - and you can switch between modes with a switch on the back of the controller. One might ask why have this switch if you plug directly into the PS5 or PC would you need a switch - why wouldn't it automatically switch to "wired" if plugged in? Well, if you happen to want to play across the room at a larger distance, you can still plug into an electrical outlet (or extension cord) and be "wireless" since you wouldn't be connected to a PC/console. * The app is set up in a good way to update settings on the controller though the user interface could be slightly more user-friendly. * Latency is low and works well with both PS5 and PC gaming. There is no drop-off in signalling compared to an original PS5 controller. * The nylon USB cable feels durable and has rubber caps for each end of the cable when not in use. CONS: ----------- * THE biggest issue I have with this controller is the fact that it's made and marketed for the PS5 yet does not have anything close to a PS5 feel or knob layout. This is a huge miss in my opinion. It looks and feels more like an XBOX controller which I'm not as familiar with and feels odd to my hands. Muscle memory is huge in gaming, and this controller doesn't really feel right to me, a PS5-only player. * Initially, I tried to pair up my controller with my phone so I could update the settings & firmware; however, when I opened the app, it stated to hold down the multi-function button at the same time as the mute button so they could PAIR up. Nothing happened because the instructions on the app do not state to TURN ON the controller first by holding down the PS button for ~2-3 seconds. Sometimes electronics can be paired without having to power ON (it will auto-power-ON on some devices).... so the app should be updated telling the user to turn on the controller first before trying to pair. To turn off the controller, you hold down the PS button for ~2-3 seconds again, and it will shut down (unlike the PS5 controller which basically shuts down after a long period OR after the PS5 is shut down). * I thought with the added 6 buttons on this controller, that one might have the ability to "DO MORE" than the other 8 buttons (Sq/Tri/Cir/X/L1/L2/R1/R2), but instead, it simply gives the option for those added buttons to do the same thing as the other buttons ... but moved. I found this a bit confusing and difficult to embrace, given the fact that my muscle memory already knows where the TRIANGLE button is and is trained to hit it at a moment's notice. Moving it to the the back of the controller doesn't help me in any way. If those rear buttons (or 2 extra index finger buttons) gave me ADDITIONAL abilities, then ok. But from what I can tell, they do not. The user is simply mapping or copying the main buttons to any the new buttons - so you might have 2 buttons now that do the exact same thing after mapping. I guess if that helps you, then great. But for me, it was not of much use. * Piggy-backing off of my previous statement regarding the additional buttons, you're paying about $30/button extra than if you were to buy a basic PS5 controller but with no added functionality of "extra function" buttons. You DO however have the ability to connect to PC with the Wolverine V2 Pro, but at that price point, I'm wondering where the real added benefit is here, especially given the fact that it's setup as an XBOX controller layout for a PS5 gamer. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * You WILL need a PC in order to update the firmware out of the box. You will need to go to the manufacturer's website to download the firmware executable file and follow the prompts. It's not difficult to do, but it will take about 30 minutes to complete the full FW update via PC. I upgraded my controller from 1.00.18 to 1.03.00. * The controller comes with 2 extra stick caps which I really don't have a need for. I did not use this feature though I know people that do. I'm able to control my R/L sticks without the caps swapped out. * The controller battery seems to last most of the day without dying. I had the controller lighting set to red but very dim. The brighter you have the light, the less time the battery will last. * There is no wall-charger, so you'll have to find a power source (cell phone charger, PS5, PC, etc) in order to charge the controller. CONCLUSION: ===================== I was originally pumped up about the new PS5/PC Wolverine V2 Pro controller - until I had to use it. Once I realized that I had to adjust to an XBOX controller layout, I was immediately disappointed. Now, I CAN get used to it and change up some of the buttons on the rear of the controller, but I don't believe I'm really gaining anything from a gaming advantage viewpoint. It's hard for me to see changing my current PS5 controller muscle memory to this controller, because I really like the look of it and the ability to light up while ON. Now I CAN use it when PC-gaming, so I will likely do that, but it still throws a kink into switching between console controllers. It can be a bit awkward. Given the price of a regular PS5 controller, I'm not sure paying the regular price for this controller makes a ton of financial sense if you're a die-hard PS5-er like myself. Now if you use both systems and have no issues with muscle memory, then sure, this might be a good fit, but for many, it's a bit awkward switching between the two. IMO, more tweaking might be needed to make the PS5 folk happier.

Review Date: 7-7-2023 --- SETUP --- You can begin using the Razer Wolverine V2 controller on your PS5 out of the box. However, it is recommended that you charge it first and connect it to a PC for an update and customization. Alternatively, you can download an app to customize it. --- FEATURES --- RGB custom lighting, 8 way D-Pad, 6 remappable buttons, interchangeable thumbsticks (x2), wireless, PC and PS5 compatible --- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS --- I tested this controller on PS5 and PC. I have always preferred thicker controllers, and this controller meets that expectation. It feels very comfortable in the hands and the grip makes it ideal for those hand-clutching moments in action and online games. When it comes to first person shooter games, the triggers have a feature where you can make them extra sensitive to your press, activating the shot sooner than a traditional controller. You can turn that feature off for other games with a physical slider on the controller. In fact, you have to turn it off for racing games, otherwise your car won’t go at full speed. Remapping the buttons is a great feature. You want to do this for competitive gaming, accessibility, or for convenience. However, I was expecting for the controller to allow you to switch between at least two profiles on the fly. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. The 8 way D Pad feels awesome and sounds clicky. If you’ve gamed on PC, there are clicky high-end gaming keyboards, and this D Pad is the equivalent of that on the controller. I enjoyed using the D Pad with Mortal Kombat and Vampire Survivor (on PC). For fighting games like MK, you can feel every click that you press to execute combos and fatalities. Unfortunately, the face buttons didn’t feel as good to me. They felt bulkier than I was expecting and it almost felt like they required more of a force push than necessary. Another thing that this controller lacked was the vibrations, or rumble, during action games. I was playing Horizon Forbidden West for the first time with the controller. While I played, I sensed something was missing. Then it hit me that the controller wasn’t vibrating during the action scenes. To me, that removes the immersiveness of cinematic games, so I didn’t enjoy that aspect. --- APPROVAL --- Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this controller due to the lack of rumble, lack of haptic trigger feedback for PS5, and awkward face button presses. These are things you can overlook, then the D Pad and the hypersensitive triggers are great for competitive play.

Gaming is amazing because it allows us to just escape the stresses of the real world. Whether you’re playing Call of Duty Warzone, Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6, or a retro game that brings back nostalgic memories, you want to have the right controller for your journey. I’m somewhat familiar with the Razer brand products such as their gaming chair, headsets, and gaming keyboards. This time, I decided to try their PS5 controller because their previous products were solid. Out of the Box: The V2 Pro controller is packaged with two additional-sized thumb stick sizes. One low and the other tall. Both are meant to accommodate your aiming. Also packaged is the Bluetooth dongle that allows Wolverine V2 to be a wireless controller. Then there’s the USB cord that charges the controller. This cord is far too short to use plugged into your PS5 if you’re sitting more than two feet away from the console. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a travel case included with this controller, allowing me to store the extra thumb sticks and have the convenience of taking my Wolverine controller on the go. Set-Up: Setting up the Wolverine V2 is easy. The controller already had charge to it and all you need to do is plug in the Bluetooth dongle and allow the PS5 to communicate. For full customization, you’re going to need the Razer app. Customize Your Way of Play: As I mentioned, you’re going to need to download and utilize the full Key Mapping features of the Wolverine V2. You can map buttons to the back paddles or the M1/M2 bumpers. I can see remapping these buttons for the upcoming Balder’s Gate 3 for PS5. There’s also a feature called, Sensitivity Clutch. This is ideal for games like Call of Duty or Battlefield 2042 where you’re running a Sniper class. Activating the Sensitivity Clutch slows the movement speed of your sticks, hypothetically bettering your shot. Through the app, you can also choose how you want the RGB lights to display. I wish that there were more options when it came to this. You cannot remap the buttons quickly in between matches. Each time you want to remap, you will have to pair the controller with the app. How Does It Feel? The Wolverine V2 Pro feels light while not feeling like a cheap third-party controller that could break after a month. What I really loved were the textured grips. Not once did it feel like it was going to slip from my hands if I were to tighten my grip in those clutch moments. The mechanical buttons respond perfectly each time they are engaged. Same with the shoulder buttons and the touchpad. You will not doubt whether or not you pressed a button. The same mechanical response is applied to the Directional Pad. If you’re into fighting games like Street Fighter VI or are looking forward to Mortal Kombat 1 or Tekken 8, then I think you’ll be really happy with how this controller responds. Speaking of response, using the Bluetooth was excellent and there was no noticeable input lag. Aiming with the Wolverine V2 feels good. While you cannot set sensitivity in the app, you will find that the precision of the sticks is reliable and you will find your happy place once you find the correct thumb sticks to fit on. Accessing the back paddles might feel a little weird to some at first but you get used to it pretty fast. I was playing Final Fantasy 16 and was using the back Left paddle to perform magic attacks without needing to lift my right thumb to press the Triangle. I also use the back paddles to perform ‘drop shots’ in Call of Duty and Battlefield 2042. Incredibly satisfying! The back paddles cannot be removed but I didn’t find that they got in my way during my gaming sessions. If you’re accustomed to the Dual Sense features that games like Ratchet and Clank or God of War Ragnarök utilize, then you will be disappointed to know that the Wolverine V2 does not accommodate those features. I don’t see this as being a deal breaker for games like the upcoming Spider-Man 2 or Modern Warfare III since I will turn off Vibration in FPS anyway. There are Trigger Locks on the Wolverine V2. This allows the right and left triggers to have an IMMEDIATE response as opposed to needing more squeezing on a regular controller. It’s Worth Noting: You can plug a headset into the jack located at the base of the controller. However, I noticed that the quality of the 3D sound that I normally enjoyed was now dull and nowhere as sharp. If you’re relying on a wireless headset then I suggest that you plug the headset dongle into the back of your PS5 so that you don’t lose the full sound immersion. This and That: The battery life of the Wolverine V2 ran me about 12 hours on a full charge and with the RGB lights on. The Wolverine can also be used with a PC if you’re a PC gamer. Closing: If you’re looking for the precision of a mechanical button controller and solid stick response then the Wolverine V2 Pro controller is a controller that you will enjoy. I do wish there were more stick height options along with a longer USB cord and a carrying case. This is an investment that you will enjoy.

joystick deadzones are pretty big way too expensive! this is a nice premium controller with some real issues in the software department. the app to use this is way behind the razer wolverine v2 chroma for xbox. you can only adjust the light and reprogram the back buttons on the mobile app with this controller! but it claims to be highly customizable??? and for the hyperspeed dongle there has been speed test done and this is average speed of most current controllers on the market??? i think they where goin in the right direction with this as it has very satisfying clicky triggers, and buttons every where, this controller looks very good but id prefer the wight one out of the 2 and i love black! im not really happy that the mute function on the controller does not work on any other mode than ps5 mode!

Personally, this is a great controller and I get much enjoyment in using it. Compared to other controllers at this level, it best them in comfort, button activation, trigger feels, and wireless connection. However this isn't without negatives. The price is just a bit much and comparing it to other controllers, it just doesn't add up. Other controller at this price range usually get a case to house the controller as well as store the interchangable thumbsticks. I use the contoller for PC gaming and it is a shame that I must use a moblie app to configuer/map the remappable buttons instead using the Razer Synapse software. I still like the controller but for others the price may lead them away.

I've had this controller for less than a year and I like it more than the Scuf I previously used and it's lasted longer too. That being said, I have basically only used this controller in "wired" and "pc" modes the entire time. Now, the controller does not charge at all and wireless won't work due to this. Wired still works so I'm guessing its the battery itself. One of the biggest pros of this controller is being able to easily remap the paddles and extra buttons. When necessary, I was able to remap the whole controller in between rounds of Search in Call of Duty. Overall, a good controller but I wouldn't bank on the quality of battery inside.

Absolutely love the feel and the way the controler handles. The lighting on it gives nice look as well when gaming. The Bluetooth tho kinda slow to respond but when wired it is perfect
