It's very simple. I have been playing video games since they began, and have played thousands of hours. I have owned over a dozen consoles and hundreds of games. This game is larger and more detailed than any game I have ever played. The graphics are rich, the story line engaging and interesting. My only word of warning is that this game is so immersive and complex, what will seem like an hour inside the game could be four hours of real life time. When you find yourself doing more chores at your camp site on Horseshoe Overlook than in your own house, perhaps priorities come into question. However, I play games as an escape from the stress of real life and for the entertainment value and this game accomplishes both admirably. It kind of makes me afraid to even consider what GTA6 will bring. Great job Rockstar Games, still the undisputed best developer! PS Please enjoy the enclosed photo; I killed the legendary grizzly bear and made his head into a hat. The comments I get from people in the game are hilarious.

I purchased the RDR 2 Special Edition. Receiving exclusive content for the Story Mode including: Bank Robbery & Gang Hideout, Dappled black thoroughbred, Talisman & Medallion GP bonuses, Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit and GP boosts, Cash Bonuses & Discounts. The GP is fluid with the open world graphics a notch above amazing. Have had a few problems with glitches and small GP problems, but the producers of this awesome IP RDR2 from Rockstar Games has an amazing Technical Support Team that continues to work on RDR 2’s shortcomings and glitches to make RDR 2 a true work of art. Thank You Rockstar for this work of art IP

It is extremely hard to put this game down. This story line, graphics, amazing background and realistic visuals give this game a 10!! I bought the special addition and we've only scratched the edge of the map. Amazing game!!

Rockstar really knocked it out of the park with this release. Totally addicted to jumping back into the Wild West every chance that I can get.

I never played the original, but as a long time GTA player, Rockstar's got a solid formula to make an entertaining game. Great story, incredible level of detail, this is a very beautiful game. Lots of interesting characters and things to do when not playing the story. My only gripe right now is online mode is really the Wild Wild West, where players make it a point to hang around and harass anyone trying to accomplish anything useful. Even still, with the right gang, it can make for a good time.

This is a great game, with a great story that keeps the player immersed and involved in everything. Yes the first few hours are slow paced, but once you get past that and get used to the controls + mechanics it gets much better. Anyone expecting a grand theft auto or action game this won't be for you. Rockstar have really outdone themselves this time around. There is so much to see and do in this world I couldn't help, but get sidetracked by the side activities along with exploring the world. I played it for 8 hours straight, that's pretty rare for me. Anyway if you enjoyed the previous Red dead redemption or you enjoy mature, well done story driven games with choices then you will enjoy this game.

The graphics are nice and the shooting is fun. The dialog between the characters is top notch and the stoty/side missions are interesting. The traveling between locations gets boring even after unlocking fast travel but it works only at Arthurs tent. The controls are bad but you will get used to them. I prefer God of War compared to this game. The game is still worth $60 and entertaining.

Read Dead Redemption II is more than a game, it's an experience very rarely seen. It aspires to be so much more than just a game, but unfortunately in doing so it sacrifices convenience and fun for realism at times. Let's start with the negatives: -You're going to waste a lot of time on horseback. Even when you eventually purchase fast travel, it's a one-way trip and is basically useless since you have to start out from camp. You'll be away from camp most of your time. -If you so much as sneeze on someone, you're getting a bounty. This isn't a problem in the beginning of the game when there are only a few people milling about, but once you get to more congested areas with people who are clearly programmed to walk into you or create obstacles, you pretty much have to move at a snail's pace through them which is not fun. -The constant stat drain and upkeep, even with the special edition's boosts, is more annoying than anything. You can ignore it for the most part, but it's still there, always nagging at you to polish things up. -You're going to want to go to the Story section in the menu and manually save after every single minor task you do, because you will be attacked out there, and you will lose everything--your horse, your pelts, etc. You're gonna have a bad time if you just rely on autosaves. -Morality is affected by the most bizarre of things. Protecting yourself from getting shot? That's bad, apparently. Helping someone that's being beaten, and only using your fists so you don't kill them as the game said? Oh wait, fists apparently do kill people now, you lowered your morality, and you've got a bounty. Now for the positives: -This game is the equivalent of an art film given a Marvel budget, and it's a wonder to behold. It's refreshing to see such a meditative, deliberate, and methodical game get this kind of love and exposure. You have to have patience to enjoy this game, as it's a real slow burn. If you are looking for a high adrenaline action, please look elsewhere at 99% of gaming. -The story and dialogue are fantastic. There's humor, menace, real drama and humanity...it's something you don't see from many games. Sure, there are lowbrow moments that bring it down a notch (game writing still hasn't caught up to film after all) but it's leagues beyond the average output of the medium. -The main missions are fantastic. While the world itself can become tedious with its focus on realism, the main missions are all enjoyable, and of course there are a ton of them. This game is huge. It seemed like there were more negatives than positives right? In the end those negatives are more nitpicks than anything, and once you learn the game's idiosyncracies it becomes much more enjoyable. I would give this my personal GOTY recommendation if only the game wasn't so inconvenient at times, but it's still one of the highest quality experiences of this generation, and a worthy successor to one of my favorite games from the previous generation.

At its foundation it is very similar to all of the other Rockstar games, however the interactions between characters in the game and the memory they seem to possess, adds an entirely new immersive element to the open world experience. The game itself is beautiful and and the country you roam feels alive. I have experienced the occasional lag, but overall its a very smooth game. My only complaint is how easy it is to run into a darn tree while riding your horse.

(This review is written after completing the main story and starting the Epilogue. No spoilers will be given.) Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, but manages to be bigger and (usually) better than its predecessor in just about every way. This game is GIGANTIC, and even the required story missions can take you over 30-40 hours to complete without even touching the great side content. The graphics are astonishing at times, brushing closer to realism than I've ever experienced in a video game before. (Of course, this usually happens about 4-5 minutes before a glitch completely reminds me that I'm playing a game, so... oh well!) Sometimes this feels less like a game and more like you're living the main character's whole life for him... and I mean that in a good way. It took me a few hours to come around to it, but eventually I realized that everything that felt "slow" compared to other titles was slow for a reason, and was there to help you feel more engrossed in the world. And engrossed I was... this game's story is absolutely better than many TV shows I could name, and then made even better-er because I could participate in the action! If you enjoy the Wild West, gunslinging action titles, or even just immersing yourself in a realistic world (you could spend hundreds of hours just running through the wilderness and hunting animals and fishing if you wanted)... you owe it to yourself to check RDR2 out. (Now please, Rockstar... more of this and less GTA!!!!!!)

Best open world of all time. So many painstakingly worked on details it's insane. Story is great as well and superb voice acting along with the well done facial animations. Beautiful world that reacts to everything you do. So many little moments that truly immerse yourself In this masterpiece of a game. The best western and possibly best game of this generation, Red dead sets the bar for future games. Must buy

Never have i played a game where the world felt so realistically presented and lived in. Absolutely phenomenal story, characters and gamesplay. Graphics for open world set a new bar in the genre and gaming in general. The minute detail of animals, environments to npc's set a new standard that will make every other open world feel bland in comparison. Highly recomended!

This is probably my favorite game, in the same league with Horizon Zero Dawn and Far Cry 5. Graphics are stellar, story and side quests are engaging, and the open world exploration is interesting and challenging. Really didn’t want it to end, but even after the main story there is another 20% of the game to accomplish in the epilogue. A classic!

I would say this is a solid game that you could spend hours on end playing. The twists and turns within the story is what keeps you coming back for more. I have consistently trusted rockstar in delivering content. With the amount of effort they put into their work, they never disappoint. I can't wait to start the online mode after finishing story.

Literally the greatest game of this console generation so far! Great graphics, story, action, all in a huge and in-depth open-world. If you like fast-paced eclectic and simplistic gameplay, this is NOT fo you. Designed for those that want to experience the times of the Wild West and South. Buy it now!

Takes a bit to get the hang of the controls, but the graphics are unbelievable. Not a big fan of the having to travel all across the map all the time with no convenient way to travel faster (yes, there's the map, but that still isn't much help). Great game overall.

Game of the year, hands down and one of the greatest games I have ever played. The graphics are superb, but really the dialog and the story are what really make the game. Controls are a little clunky, but if you have played GTAV you wont have any issues.

According to rockstar this is the largest, most detailed open world environment they've ever created and its evident from the moment you take control of your character. Red Dead Redemption 2 is without a doubt Rockstar's shining achievement and showcases the true power of the PS4, especially when viewed using the added 4k resolution of the PS4 Pro. No two days spent in the game are alike, as a result of a refreshingly organic and spontaneous world that develops and moves through time independent of the activities of your character. In short, RDR2 is a must have game, especially if you are a fan of the original versions. No need to hesitate or comtemplate if its worth your hard earned money, because it is my friends....Honestly its been beyond what I expected especially in terms of gameplay. Looking forward to seeing you guys online!!!

This game is worth the slow start which isn't just an opening story it's a tutorial as well as also a feeling out process of the world the physics the environment interactions & tone of the game. The game features rich in depth mechanics as well as a true open world similar to the open environment we saw in AC Odessey that is manifested in a robust control to the HUD allowing a more immersive experience this is amazing when you explore & stumble upon a rich amount of NPC's with side missions that offer XP but more important fleshes out the game the world & allows you to be swallowed up in the lore of the cowboy's life. Great story breathtaking visuals & as of now we are about one or two weeks from the online component RDO(red dead online). This game will consume your time it's a slow build to a truly amazing fire.

If you've played the series from the beginning or have been following this game at all, you already know why I gave this game five stars after you play it for 15 minutes. For everyone else, this is about as close as it gets to playing your very own Clint Eastwood. This has a lot of the same feel as GTA V as in movement of character, riding on your horse or driving a wagon, switching 1st or 3rd person, aiming, etc....But the deeper you go into the game the more the absolutely astounding level of polish in this game shines through. The combat, resource and development systems coupled with a gripping story and deeply developed characters in an absolutely gorgeous and spot on wild west world place this game in a superior tier with the other masterpieces of this generation and is perhaps the game of the year.
