I remember playing the first Resident Evil in the 90’s and being terrified every time a zombie or licker came my way. That was until I entered the cheat codes for unlimited ammo. I haven’t played a Resident Evil game since the 90’s but after hearing all of the buzz around this game I thought maybe it was time to revisit an old, and terrifying, friend. I am so happy I did. This game is so fun and gave me the same thrill as the first game did over 20 years ago. I love the unique approach to the infected and the initial thrilling feeling that they are going to get you every time you enter a room. The storyline is nostalgic, the graphics are excellent, the puzzles are enjoyable, the combat is challenging and satisfying, and the characters, including the infected, are interesting. I like switching between perspectives depending on who you are playing as. After 20+ years this game reignited my interest in this franchise and I am now going back and replaying the rest of the games. For some perspective, I am a 45 year old female whose Dad bought her older brother the first Atari when it came out and found out she liked gaming as much, if not more, than he did. Best Buy had this game in stock when no one else did, the price was right and shipping was very fast. I rarely write reviews but this game is worth it.

Just finished the game on Standard (Modern) Difficulty. After nearly 30 years of playing the Resident Evil series, it’s honestly incredible that Resident Evil Requiem still manages to feel fresh while staying true to what made me fall in love with it in the first place. What stands out most is the creativity. Every entry somehow reinvents itself—whether it’s the setting, mechanics, or storytelling—yet it never loses that signature tension and atmosphere. Requiem continues that tradition beautifully. There are moments that genuinely surprised me, which is rare for a franchise I’ve been playing for decades. The attention to detail is on another level. From environmental design to sound cues, everything feels intentional. You can tell the developers care deeply about the experience—they’re not just making a game, they’re crafting something immersive. It’s the little things—lighting, pacing, even how enemies behave—that pull you in and keep you on edge. And the gameplay? Still top-tier. It strikes that perfect balance between survival horror and modern mechanics. It’s challenging without being frustrating, and it constantly keeps you thinking, adapting, and exploring. What really hits me is this: after all these years, Resident Evil hasn’t lost its soul. If anything, it’s evolved while respecting its roots—and that’s not easy to do. As someone who’s been with this series for 30 years, Resident Evil Requiem isn’t just another installment—it’s a reminder of why I started playing in the first place.

Resident Evil Requiem on PlayStation 5 is survival horror perfection. Stunning visuals, lightning-fast load times, and spine-tingling 3D audio pull you into every shadow. Combat feels tight, puzzles are clever, and the story grips from start to finish. A terrifying, polished, must-play experience.

The game is AMAZING. So much fun. I have both the base PS5 version and Switch 2 version. The base PS5 version doesnt have raytracing like the PS5 pro version. It has film grain that the Switch 2 version does not and its motion control aiming isnt as good at the Switch 2 split joycon gyro aiming. (On ps5 settings, go to options and slide the horizontal slider to the max for aiming and it makes the PS5 motion aiming better). So if you have a PS5 pro, get it on that. If you have a base ps5 and switch 2, get it on switch 2.

The game was pretty solid! The atmosphere and gameplay in the first section is amazing and it does fall a little bit in the second half, but it’s still a pretty great experience. No bonus content in the game does drag it down next to the price tag though.

I love this game so much! It’s the perfect blend of Resident Evil 4 and 7. I have played through this game about 7 times so far since release. It’s everything you want in a zombie apocalypse video game.

RE9 is two games in one. As Grace, you play in immersive first-person with stealth, limited resources and survival horror at its finest. As Leon, resources are rarely an issue, you play in third-person, and you get over-the-top action scenes, boss fights, fewer puzzle sections, and a sense of power and control not present as Grace. You can switch the camera or either character, but the difference in perspective was perfect as-is. If you're only a fan of classic RE survival horror, or if you're only a fan of later action-focused RE entries, half the game may not appeal to you, but if you're like me and enjoy it all, both styles are expertly implemented as the story goes back and forth between them a few times. I loved RE9. It might now be my favorite aside from the original RE4.

This game is good. New story, but feels like the originals. Love Grace and her innocence, you can see her character growth through the game. Leon is a fire from beginning to end.

I give the game a solid 9. For a resident evil game it’s a great resident evil game. Fun puzzles, cool zombies, creepy, mansion, creepy lab cool, boss fights and really good graphics. A great game to play from start to finish.

truly such an awesome addition to the RE franchise. my partner has played about 4 different playthroughs and a speedrun, so if that doesn’t show how wonderful this game is i don’t know what will.

This is an excellent entry to one of my favorite Survival/action horror franchises. The story in a lot of ways displays Leon's struggles with his past failures and has tons of call backs to prior games in the series. Grace's story was also highly interesting because she felt so fearful and scared yet she faced her fears throughout the adventure. The gameplay contrast between action horror and survival horror is a fantastic touch especially playing Grace's sections in 1st person and Leon's in 3rd. You really feel like new and old Resident evil has culminated together.

The game is probably my favorite in the series. Even though the game is short, I could not put my controller down until I finished it

A fantastic culmination of what makes the “Resident Evil Franchaise” one of the most iconic series in gaming history.

The game is both scary and actiony. It's very enjoyable with how it combines both types of gameplay.

If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil franchise, this is an excellent addition worthy of your time. Best Buy also does a great job of delivering to you on the release date. Hey Best Buy - I review everything I’ve ever bought from you (for years now). Can I get blessed with that $400 gift card or what? =D
