Tony Scott's Revenge is on overlooked, underrated movie that stars Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn and Madeline Stowe. All 3 are terrific in this film. The dvd contains the original theatrical version which in my opinion is much better than the Blu Ray's director's cut, which doesn't include the theatrical cut. The director's cut is much shorter and cuts too much out of the film. If you're looking to purchase this movie the dvd is the way to go in this case.

The film is a story of friendship, sex, romance, betrayal, violence that ends in revenge. The casting is great. The directing is solid. The special features are very good but are too limited. The previews are standard but offer a wide selection of possible films.

I have always been a fan of this film and it is great that the Director's Cut has been released and on Blu-Ray to boot. The film now feels leaner and less bloated in this shorter version. Even with the truncated running time, Tony Scott has managed to raise the levels of sexuality and brutality in the film. The Blu-Ray version looks great for a 17 year old catalogue title. The overtly stylized look of the film befits the benefits brought on by the 1080p AVC transfer. It also comes with 5.1 sound, which the standard theatrical version lacked. The opening sequence with Costner's character taking his last flight around Mexico showcases some seamless audio pans and deep bass. The only trouble to be found with this release is the lack of the theatrical version or any of the deleted scenes. So if you are interested in those you still have to hang on to the original DVD release. Still the disc has some special features such as a fairly blunt commentary by Scott and a short featurette that features new interviews with all of the principles. It would have been nice had the featurette been longer, but it manages to cover most of the points of interest.

Even though I don't believe in Infidelity, this is one of my top ten best love movies. I don't usually cry watching movies but this movie had me crying a river at the end. I've probably seen this movie 100+! Even thought I've seen it so many times, I'm screaming at the movie "Hold On, He's Coming! I'll just leave everyone with this; if you haven't seen this movie it's a most see.

I thoroughly enjoy this movie. Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn, and Madeleine Stowe give a wonderful performance, all against a beautiful mexican landscape. This is one of my favorite Kevin Costner films, along with The Postman and Dances with Wolves. I strongly recommend this movie to any Costner fans or anyone wanting an excellent tragic love story.

There was absolutely nothing about this film starring Kevin Costner that interested me. Absolutely nothing. For the few who enjoyed the theatrical cut, this recently released director's version may be of interest.

this full-screen dvd version alters the original theatrical aspect ratio of the movie from 2.35:1 to 1.33:1, giving a picture in which you lose almost 50% of the image in every frame.
