Customer Ratings & Reviews

I got this Rexing BC500 in car baby monitor because I drives with my toddler, and it has greatly reduced my stress while driving. I used to rely on a mirror, which always felt a bit precarious since I had to adjust my angle or glance back longer or the mirror will move off angle due to sharp turns. This setup feels far more natural. The camera straps onto the headrest and the monitor mounts easily on the dash using a holder. The included cable is long enough to route neatly through my car without any awkward stretching. Once wired(check out on how to wire this unit in the picture), there is a button on the 12V charger, press to turn power ON. No pairing or convoluted setup required as it just works. The video quality is good during the day and the night vision also works well in darker conditions. I can clearly see my child without turning around even on dim roads. It has a wide angle lens which helps cover more of the backseat. There are a couple of things I would like to see as an improvements 1) A USB C power option would be nice 2) A combining of something like Rexing’s CPDuo style system could reduce multiple screens on dashboard. Still, these feel like small trade offs. To conclude, It gives a steady and reliable view of my baby in the rear seat while I keep my focus where it belongs while driving.

Simple and straight forward device. My child’s reached the age where she would likely break something like this but def could see this for a 3 and under. Can tighten fairly well to the back of any headrest and sticks out about an inch. Camera could use a little more swivel to allow for some different angles but the images on the store page are extactly wha you get. Only plugs into the cig lighter port/vehicle accessory socket so if you have a dash camera like me, you’ll need something to split or hopefully your vehicle has more than one. Picture is decent quality for the price. No recording features.

The camera unit features a compact, straightforward design in matte black, allowing it to blend smoothly with most vehicle interiors. It mounts to the rear headrest using an adjustable strap that feels secure, although the materials are more functional than premium. The included monitor follows the same philosophy: lightweight, minimal, and easy to position on the dash or windshield using the provided mount. Cable management requires a small amount of effort, as both the monitor and the camera rely on power from the vehicle. Once neatly routed, the system remains unobtrusive. Image Quality and Daytime Performance The BC500 delivers 1080p HD video, which is more than sufficient to clearly see the baby’s posture, head movement, breathing motions, and general activity while driving. The image is sharp, with good color accuracy under natural daylight through the rear windows. The camera’s wide viewing angle ensures that most child seats—rear-facing or forward-facing—remain fully visible without constant adjustments. The monitor has a responsive display with no noticeable delay. For safety, this real-time responsiveness matters: a parent can glance quickly and understand the child's condition without visual lag or pixelation. Night Vision and Low-Light Behavior One of the strong points of the BC500 is its infrared night vision. The IR lights are completely invisible to the baby and produce a clean grayscale image even in complete darkness. Nighttime footage remains stable and easy to interpret, avoiding the grainy, noisy quality common in cheaper baby cams. This feature is especially useful for evening drives, long road trips, or early-morning commutes. Setup, Connectivity, and Ease of Use Setting up the BC500 is straightforward. The camera straps to the headrest, the monitor attaches to the dashboard, and both devices plug into the vehicle’s power source. Once powered, the camera and monitor automatically pair and establish a solid connection without the need for smartphone apps, Wi-Fi networks, or Bluetooth pairing. The lack of an app is intentional: it eliminates distractions, ensures privacy, and means that the system always works as soon as the car starts. The angle of the camera is adjustable, making it versatile for different car seat positions and vehicle sizes. Everyday Use and Reliability In daily driving, the BC500 performs consistently. Parents can check the monitor with a quick glance, similarly to checking a rearview mirror. The video feed does not lag, freeze, or flicker, and stays connected even on bumpy roads. The camera does not record video—its purpose is strictly monitoring—but this keeps the interface very simple and avoids the need for storage or app integration. The system is designed for real-time observation rather than security footage. Pros Clear 1080p HD image quality Excellent infrared night vision Dedicated monitor prevents smartphone distractions Stable, low-latency connection Adjustable viewing angle suitable for most seat setups Easy and fast installation No apps, Wi-Fi, or pairing complexity Reliable performance in both daylight and complete darkness Cons Materials feel somewhat basic, more functional than premium Visible cable runs unless properly tucked away Monitor takes up space on the dashboard or windshield No internal battery; requires constant power from the car Does not record video (monitoring only) The headrest strap is stable, but not as rigid as a hard-mount solution Conclusion The Rexing BC500 In-Car Baby Cam delivers a solid, reassuring, and distraction-free way to monitor your baby during car rides. Its excellent night vision, clear HD feed, and dedicated monitor make it far safer and more effective than relying on mirrors or improvised solutions. Despite its basic materials and dependence on vehicle power, its ease of use and dependable performance justify an Excellent overall rating.

We purchased the Rexing in-car baby camera for our minivan and have been very pleased with it. The video quality is clear both during the day and at night, making it easy to check on our child without having to turn around while driving. Installation was straightforward, and the camera and monitor have worked reliably since day one. The screen is large enough to see details clearly but compact enough that it doesn’t obstruct visibility. We also appreciate that it provides a dedicated live feed without relying on a phone app, Wi-Fi connection, or batteries. As parents, having the ability to quickly glance at our child while keeping our eyes on the road provides a great deal of peace of mind. Overall, this has been a simple, practical, and dependable product that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Highly recommended for anyone with infants or young children.

This is a basic camera system that is very easy to set up and can either come on when the power is applied to the power port when you start your car or with the switch on the power adapter. I also liked that there is very minimal wiring and is very easy to install. You plug the power adapter into your vehicle and into the cable on the screen and there is a wire that goes from a cable on the screen to a cable on the camera. The connecting cable from the screen to the camera is 17 feet long so this system can be used in a car, SUV or van. It also is detachable at both ends so it is easy to route under and around seats when installing. One thing to note is the image displayed on the screen is a mirror image of what the camera is pointed at. This is a huge improvement over the mirrors they sell to keep an eye on your children in the back seat and allows you to view any seat or area of your vehicle. It would also work great for watching animals in the back of an car, SUV or van.

Grand kid and “Bike” Camera This purchase will have two uses; first as intended, a backseat watching the kids camera for the grand kids, but also a rear facing bike camera so I do not have to turn around to watch approaching cars. First the rear seat view camera. Unboxing and connection were super easy; this is a simple device intended to view the kids from the dashboard rather than turning around while driving. Cables are impossible to mix up. Use the suction cut to mount to the dash, plug into 12V car power jack. Use the straps to attach to the back of the front seat... it works! An additional great feature; the 12V power plug has an integrated on/off button; no need to pull out when not in use. Easy Install (no Instructions needed!) Long extension cable for camera to front power included. Simple to use (no setup needed!) Good Price Bike Camera Previously I made a custom REAR facing camera for my bicycle which blueTooth connects to my phone. The picture is far too SMALL to do me much good seeing cars approach; blueTooth connection/disconnect is irritating. Soon I will mount this camera/screen onto the bike for when the kids are not visiting. Display size is better than my phone; color is good compared to existing camera. Ya, it is not approved for rain... I will cover it with a bag and go home until the sun is out again.

The product is fantastic been wanting to have something like this because i was only using a mirror, i have a 2.5 yrs old and whenever my wife or me is on travel the only one can take the baby to daycare so tbis is so helpful. It is crystal clear and no lag since its wired together. I placed on the side corner of our dashboard so its within the drivers eye sight.

Easy to install and simple to operate. Camera quality is good but it does switch into night mode pretty quickly even in daylight. Overall happy with the camera!

Awesome for what it is. I don’t have kids but I travel with my dogs. Now I’m able to see them in the back seat of my truck without having to turn my head. I don’t need it to record and the picture quality is great. Basic, perfect and cheap

I've been using Rexing for 5+ years now, including dash cams and mirror cams. They keep expanding their items. It's one of my top 2 favorite brands. In the old days, you'd just put this mirror up to look at the baby, which was quite hard to aim correctly. I can't believe they now have this technology. These work exactly like a dash cam with the same setup. You could even take one of their dash cams and use the rear camera for the baby, heh. The screen is easiest mounted on the windshield. You can put it on a dash, depending on your car, and using a 3M sticker. They give you a strap for the camera, but it can become dislodged if moved, bumped, or not tightened properly. It may require adjustments. I was surprised that it doesn't have any recording, but I suppose that would raise the price. This one is an upgrade to a previous The only thing I'd change is 4k vs. 1080p.

In Car Baby Cam When it comes to family, Human or Pet I always take safety first. I have used Rexing for many years, and this is a first. We need to keep an eye on the road and our family as well. This In Car Baby Cam is a great safety addition. I want to personally Thank Rexing for another FIVE STAR product. Easy to set up and use, The perfect addition to insure total safety. Highly Recommended!!!!

Excellent product from Rexing. This company became my top choice of purchasing items for all my vehicles. I need to buy one more set to watch my other child since I have twins!!!

This Rexing BC500 In-Car Baby Cam provides parents with exceptional peace of mind by delivering super clear, HD (1080p) live footage of the backseat directly to a dashboard monitor, which is especially great for long distance trips. Its wide-angle lens captures the entire seating area, eliminating the dangerous need for drivers to turn around or adjust mirrors while driving. One of my favorite features is that infrared night vision automatically activates in low-light conditions, ensuring your child remains perfectly visible even during late-night road trips or dark winter commutes. Next, the mount is sturdy, vibration-resistant, and has a straightforward setup. The continuous power connection removes any worry about battery life. To summarize, Rexing BC500 In-Car Baby Cam combines great visual quality, essential safety utility, and an accessible price point. Therefore, I highly recommend this camera system for a stress-free driving of growing families.

I bought the Rexing BC500 to help keep an eye on my toddler in their rear car seat, and overall it’s been a terrific addition to our daily drives. Setup was surprisingly simple since the camera straps to the headrest and the little monitor clips onto the dash with no fuss. Within minutes I had a clear view of my child without having to twist around or use a phone mirror! The 1080p HD feed is crisp and responsive, and the infrared night vision really works, so even on darker roads I can see what’s going on without needing cabin lights or distractions. The wide-angle view means I can adjust it for different seating positions. What I especially appreciate with little ones in the car is the peace of mind. Just a quick glance at the dedicated screen confirms my child is comfortable and calm, letting me stay focused on driving. It’s a much safer and less stressful solution than constantly checking a rearview mirror or fumbling with a phone. To be fair, there are a few areas to consider too. The materials feel pretty standard, focusing on function over premium. You'll have some visible cables unless you take the time to hide them, and the monitor needs constant power from the car, so you’ll want a good USB or lighter port handy. For being a straightforward, reliable in-car baby cam that gives real reassurance on the road, I’d recommend it to any parent who wants a clear view of their child without distraction.

I’ve used Rexing dashcams for several years, so buying this baby monitor was a no-brainer. If you’re still messing with an old-school backseat mirror that constantly twists out of alignment, just buy this instead. It completely takes the stress out of driving with a toddler. Setup is ridiculously easy. It’s a closed system with no annoying apps, Wi-Fi, or pairing required—it just works out of the box. The camera straps to the headrest and the monitor mounts to the dash. The included 17-foot cable is plenty long to tuck completely out of sight, and the 12V plug has a handy physical power button so you don't have to keep unplugging it. The 1080p picture quality is great during the day, but the night vision is the real winner. It switches to a crystal-clear, non-grainy black-and-white view, and the invisible infrared lights don't bother the baby. The wide-angle lens captures the whole seat perfectly with zero lag or stuttering, even on bumpy roads. Just keep in mind that this is purely for live monitoring and doesn't actually record footage. The plastic feels a bit basic, and you might need a 12V port splitter if you already run a dashcam. Overall, it’s a super reliable, distraction-free way to keep an eye on your kid. Highly recommended!

I’ve been really happy with this baby camera overall. The video is clear, and it’s easy to keep an eye on my child without constantly looking over my shoulder or adjusting a mirror. The screen is bright enough to see details during the day, and the night vision works well when it’s dark. Setup wasn’t too difficult, although hiding the wires took the most time. My only complaint is that I wish the mounting options were a little more flexible, since getting the perfect angle took some trial and error. Even with those minor issues, it’s been a great addition to the car and has made trips feel a lot less stressful. I’d definitely recommend it to other parents who want a better view of their little one while driving.

We bought this baby cam once our newborn moved to a rear facing seat and I didn’t want to keep turning around while driving. The Rexing BC500 has been really solid so far. The picture is clear and the night vision actually works well, which was my biggest concern. Even on darker drives I can see our baby clearly without needing any extra lights or messing with mirrors. Setup was pretty straight forward and the screen sits nicely on the dashboard without being distracting. I like having a dedicated monitor instead of using my phone or trying to angle a mirror just right. It’s been nice knowing I can quickly glance over and see everything is fine without taking my eyes off the road for long. Overall it does exactly what it’s supposed to do and makes driving with a baby a lot less stressfu

I am absolutely thrilled with the Rexing BC500 in-car baby monitor! The 1080p HD video quality is crisp and clear, and the IR night vision works flawlessly — I can finally check on my little one during late drives without any guesswork. The 150° wide view paired with the fully adjustable 360° rear camera gives me complete coverage of the backseat, and the anti-glare display is a lifesaver on bright days. The vibration-free mount keeps everything steady, and the fast, tool-free installation was incredibly convenient — I had it up and running in just minutes. This monitor offers peace of mind, excellent performance, and zero hassle. Highly recommend to any parent!

Good quality camera. I also own the Rexing dash cam. The wiring is hard wired to the monitor, would give 5 stars if it was something more common like USB-C. Install is easy.
